We stayed in the Oasis section, great sites with plenty of room. This section was very clean with nice facilities and a great dog park. We had to move sites due to satellite issues, they were very accommodating with our request. Great location to visit St Augustine. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean RV park. Sites are very tight, clean and close to neighbors but with trees and pleasant staff. We met a very nice group of campers, lots of dogs, very few children. Small, but well maintained swimming pool. Free WIFI, strong signal but a joke, nearly useless. Unless you pay an expensive premium the company throttles and chugs bandwidth. After 15-minutes of Pandora (audio only) they cut bandwidth to useless speed. (I am not sure the premium service is worth it since I haven't actually signed up and not sure I trust that the WIFI company's premium service is much better, or their technical competence or improved bandwidth for an additional $45!! Forget Video, ROKU, Netflix. Fortunately, Verizon Wireless provides a strong signal . We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park, however the cost for a weekly stay was the most expensive of any of the 100+ parks we have ever stayed at around the country. We had a pull thru on gravel and a concrete patio. Free WiFi was so-so, cable TV was good and the fitness center was very nice. The interior roads are two way which can make things exciting since the roads and turns are tight in areas. The park is convenient to I-95 and is gated. The Oasis Section appears to be the nicest section with brick pads and the fitness center area is nicely landscaped. Folks were very helpful and the front office very friendly. Nice site escort service. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an exceptional RV park. When we pulled in one of the employees came out with our paperwork and parking pass. We didn't even have to get out of our vehicle! That's a first. We got a spot in the Oasis loop which is less than a year old. All of these spots had pavers and we even had a separate parking area also with pavers. We had a corner spot. There was a small pond about 100 yards away which was very peaceful to sit by. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. A nice feature is if you want to tour historic St. Augustine you can buy a 3-day trolley pass for $25 and a they will come and pick you up at the park. Of course, they want to get a lot of people downtown to spend money. It's very "touristy" but still fun. We came from a KOA in St. Petersburg where the facilities were pretty bad so this was a little slice of heaven! I highly recommend this RV park. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The park is in rapid transition from an old outdated park to a modern, well appointed facility. It will probably not be a destination resort, but does not need to be to be successful. As it is so close to St Augustine which is a great destination on its own. The Park is divided into three sections: The grove, which is the old section used for transients of less than one week or less. It's average, but improving slowly. Our site was nothing special - just adequate for three nights. The second section, the pond, seems to be for stays of a week or more. It is quite nice, all level and well spaced. Our last stay (two years ago) in the pond was excellent. The third area, the oasis, is new and excelled for all sizes of rigs, paving stones, and patios. I believe the sites are for longer than week stays. They are even building a central activity and exercise center. Big rigs are easily handled in the pond and oasis sections with plenty of space. Some big rigs are also accommodated in the grove but with not as much space. Access and room to maneuver are very good everywhere. As mentioned elsewhere, the staff is exceptional with a great checkin process. Although, I was not excited about our site, I expect to be able to give this park my rare excellent rating in the future. We'll be back! Tips for other Campers:

Your GPS will probably screw up the easy entrance to the park by asking you make a u-turn. Exiting RT I95, take state 207 towards St Augustine and turn left at the Dollar General store. You must visit St Augustine. Great history, restaurants, and shopping. Go to the fountain of youth park - very pretty.

Nice RV park that is getting nicer all the time. Owners are putting a lot of money into making this be great. We had level, gravel pull-thru site with full hook-up 50 amp, cable, wifi, a cement patio with picnic table. Pull-thru and back-in sites are large. Some sites have fire pits. Some sites are near road, but most are away from road and quiet. Trees are well trimmed. There's a security gate.

Check-in is done ahead of time so upon arrival it is very slick...you don't even need to get out of your rig. Someone leads you to your site, gives you your paperwork and the entrance card key. There are little fences hiding neighbor's sewer and hook-ups and plants and bark around each site. Pool should be ready for use soon. Rec room is nice & they have an outside gathering area with tables, chairs, a large fireplace and plenty of heaters scattered throughout. New section (under construction) is really great: very level brick sites with patios. Internal roads are large. Lots of activities. Service is excellent: they are really trying to go above and beyond! Definitely will stay here again. Be sure to follow their directions to the entrance: GPS will not guide correctly. There is much to do in St. Augustine. A tour bus will come to the RV park and take you to the tour trolley. Tickets can be purchased at RV park. We didn't need to drive for about 4 days! Be sure to see Flagler College (which once was Hotel Ponce De Leon); incredible!

Rates reflect weekly rate. This is our first visit to St Augustine & happy to find this nice RV park close to everything. This park is under new ownership and it shows. They definitely are investing in improving this older park. They have installed new fences, a dog park, pavilion area with a fire pit which has cute colored Adirondack chairs. I was especially impressed with the new large laundry room - air conditioned, too! They are planning to put in a pool soon and add new sites in the back. The staff was so friendly & ambassador escorts you to your lot. It is hard to find personal customer service but this park has it all. They called to check and see if we were arriving & provided easy check in ahead of time. We were able to purchase trolley tickets ahead through them for touring downtown St. Augustine. We purchased the 3 day pass for $25 each & a bus picked us up each morning. We really enjoyed the trolley tours and staying at this park. I rated site a 4 instead of 5 because of old picnic table and all gravel. But...we paid a lower site for this lot because of it. If we are traveling in this area, we would stay here again. Cable was good. We have a hot spot so did not use their WIFI. We stayed here in a 40' 5th Wheel. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We recommend are Castillo deSanMarcos, Flagler College, St George Street, Ligtner Museum, St Augustine Distillery & St Sebastian Winery. Eat at Harry's - 10% coupon in flyers. I recommend that you take start early the first day of your trolley & take the complete tour. You can also purchase tickets at 50% on groupon for the Lightner museum. Make sure if you go to this museum that you are there at 2PM for the live music exhibit. I am not a museum person but this one is worth it!

Big Rig 5th Wheels Beware - we booked a big rig site with a concrete patio. Upon arrival we were stuffed into a small dirt site with no patio, the old part of the park that is not suited for big rigs. When we inquired about moving to the site we reserved, management was not able to accommodate our reservation. This is a common practice at this resort as we had two neighbors with big 5th wheels that had the same experience. In general the park is all dirt with a few new sites that have concrete patios. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with excellent staff. Easy check-in, staff leads you to your site and assists with pulling in. Cable and wifi worked well at site. Free wifi is for email checking and internet surfing. If you want to stream video they have a paid wifi plan with more bandwidth. New bathrooms and laundry with plenty of machines, are very nice (building near back of park, not the laundry around back from the office). There are no convenient laundromats in the area so definitely use the campground's.

Old Town Trolley has a free shuttle from the campground to the trolley every morning at 9 and 10. Parking is very limited in St Augustine and there's no place to park a dually so the shuttle is invaluable. We would definitely stay again. We were part of a small rally and found this park to be an excellent choice for our group. It is under new ownership and lots of positive things are happening. Sites are level and well equipped. The staff contacts us prior to our arrival twice to confirm our stay and arrival time. On arrival check-in was accomplished without leaving our vehicle. We were escorted to our site (6) and assisted in backing our rig.

While we had other plans there was live entertainment both Friday night and New Year's eve. The staff was pleasant and helpful. WiFi is widely available with many AP's and strong signals. There are 2 secure access vehicle gates controlling vehicular access via a provided barcodes pass ticket.

We enjoyed our stay and would camp here again. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Location and times of visit matter here. We have stayed here 3 separate times. Once, it was still Indian River, in March 2015. This year we stayed first week in Nov and then 4 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. The last stay was different from the previous two, largely because the park was totally full for the holiday season and it was very crowded and a bit noisy. The front sites numbered in the 30's are exposed to a lot of road traffic on SR 207, especially in high season. These sites are also extremely close together (our neighbor hit his head on our slide out, which was not over the site line, when he went to adjust his water spigot).

After one night at this 30-amp site, which was $47, I asked the office staff to please let me know if another site near the back of the park became open. They were gracious and understanding, and as it turned out, someone left early and we got to move to the back of the park, site 91, a 50-amp level site with patio (cost $73 -$75). This move cut out a lot of the noise and helped with the crowded feel of the sites. I still wouldn't call the site layout spacious. On our previous two visits, we were in the back of the park near the hiking trail entrance, and the park was not full to the brim, so it was quiet and pleasant. But it's not reasonable to expect empty sites around you over Thanksgiving. I certainly understand maximizing profits by putting sites close together and filling them, and clearly there is a demand in St. Augustine for RV spaces. I wanted to give this a 10 because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Service to customers is clearly important here, and they are making many improvements. But the crowding and noise were detracting. The price was pretty steep too. A row of noise-blocking trees or a wall between the park and SR 207 would be great. I would still stay here, I just think in the future, I'd rather visit them more off season and reserve a site farther back. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you for taking the time to rate and write this fair and honest review about your experience. We were full capacity over the holiday and I know some people are more sensitive to commotion than others, so I am pleased we were able to relocate you to a spot on the back of our park. Just to clarify, we do keep a couple 30 amp sites in the front of my park for smaller rigs but most of the sites in the 30s are 75-80 feet long and quite wide. As new owners of the park, we were presented with existing sites and pedestals and have focused on improving these sites by adding road base, patios, and updating the common buildings of the property. Please know that we appreciate your suggestions and I will discuss your ideas with my team.

We stayed 1 night Passport Am and 2 with Good Sam discount so $42 night average. CG about 3 miles off I95. Gravel sites and roads, we had a heavy rain the morning we left but the gravel drained the water away very well. When escorted to assigned site it was in a treed area so our rooftop dish would not have worked. The host returned to the office for a new site in the open and gave us a slightly more expensive site at no additional cost, nice of them to do. The site was a long pull through with a new cement patio. It was obvious that the new owners are making improvements to the CG, some sites had a new cement patio and some green plants added plus other work going on. 50a, water and sewer all worked fine. Their free WiFi worked well and we also had several OTA TV channels. We were disappointed that at the price of this CG they had no pool, and there wasn't much grass either. The CGs in this area have all increased their prices this year from last year. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
