Price reflects weekly rate of $250. Section 12 is brand new and beautiful. Large long concrete pads and beautiful grass. Utilities are placed perfectly. They are back in sites; however, personnel is very skilled in maneuvering you into the lot. This is a super location close to Tampa and Clearwater. The other side of the park is old and needs renovation. Close lots with gravel and old electric. I would not stay anywhere except in Section 12. It was a very enjoyable stay and I will return. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large busy park with two distinct sections. New section on Mullet Creek is a modern model of RV Parks. It has large angled concrete pads for easy backing; unlike older section. New one-unit utility pedestals with 50 to 100 amp service to accommodate newer bigger rigs. It also has the price to go with it. Missing from this section are showers or restrooms. If patrons choose to use provided facilities, they'll have to use the restroom/shower facilities in the other older section. Restrooms and showers are always clean and neat. Older section has some permanents, but park has rules and enforces them so perms have to keep up their sites. Close to gulf beaches, Busch Gardens, Ybor City, and many other Tampa Bay attractions. Staff friendly and very helpful. Older section is a little tight for large rigs, but manageable. Traffic noise from Hillsborough Ave can be annoying, especially the sites in the rear of the park. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Bay Bayou was a convenient RV park for my husband and I and our 20 foot travel trailer. We chose this site because of its location, and because it had a swimming pool. We had our two grandsons with us for nine days and we had chosen a Site almost directly across from the pool for their pleasure. We found the campground very well-maintained with spacious sites and full hook ups. The Wi-Fi was strong though a bit overloaded as anticipated late in the day. Laundry facilities were located in various areas of the park and were reasonably priced, well-maintained and adequate number for no wait. Because we were there late in April many of the residents had already left to head north so we did not get involved with the limited activities offered at that time. It is our understanding that during the winter there are many activities offered and we were told a very friendly resident community. There was cable connectivity included with your rate and a wide variety of channels offered. The park has kayak and canoe launch though no rentals available and areas from which one can fish. A wide variety of county parks, restaurants stores and supermarkets within easy reach. We even found a BMX track that our grandsons could try out. Lots of fun things to do in Tampa and St. Petersburg as well has done Eden and Clearwater. The community building has a library, a stage, large screen TV, pool table lots of games and puzzles, computer station, sewing station, and many tables for community activities. Again we did not participate in any as those offered at this time were not of our interest. The pool was kept clean with lots of tables and loungers and on Wednesday they have a midday hamburger hotdog barbecue. The boys had loads of fun spending hours in the pool With the season coming to an end we did not feel what is likely to be the enthusiasm of winter residence and did in turn become included in the limited activities offered. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoy biking and so we headed with our grandsons to the river walk in Tampa which was great fun and we all enjoyed it so much. It was a little over 2 miles each way and there were fun places to stop and just enjoy the river. Plus delightful lunch at a waterfront cafe. We enjoyed it so much that we did the same thing in St. Petersburg. Very different Riverwalk and what was really fun was seeing dolphins right up against the edge of the walk unexpectedly.

If you are in the new addition section you will be pleased. If you are in the older original section you might be okay if you don't mind older rustic sites. If you are anywhere around site 8434...the cat lady...save yourself the anguish and go to another park. We asked 3 different times if there was another site we could switch too and we're told no. Their rules state no old Rv's and they must be kept clean from mildew. We sandwiched our 40' rig between 2 old relics on a small site that faced the mildew side of an old one that not only housed cats but was the feeding ground of any ferile ones in the area. Our shepherd did not appreciate them roaming around our site and we had to leave the park each the day because we could not stand the smell of cat pee everywhere. The park needs to enforce their rules and/or intervene to help make the park enjoyable to all. We stayed 2 1/2 weeks but would not return unless granted a site in the new addition section. Good Sam was a little kind in their rating I feel. I will say the staff are friendly. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place for snowbirds wanting to stay in the Tampa area. Lots of activities for residents. Newcomers are welcomed and included in activities. Nice heated swimming pool. Utilities were good but wifi was overwhelmed by the number of people. Three laundry buildings so you don't have to walk far. Close to shopping with a Lowes and Publix a few blocks away. Many seasonal and long term residents but no trashy rigs. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Came here last minute for a week stay. Sites are clean, level and reasonably wide and all come with concrete patio and small table. The club house is large and has activities director. Good WiFi most times and cable selection is good but will only work off digital TV so if you have an old analog, no good. The pool is nice and clean but I understand heater is not currently working and just a bit cool for us. The interior roads are paved and it is 2 easy miles to a beautiful bike trail. This is not a family Park and has many long term residents but very few Park models. Nice mix of trailers, 5vers and MH. Staff is nice and residents are friendly. I could easily stay for a month or more. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for about 2 months, arriving in August, departing in October. We had a changing schedule, and paid a monthly rate, as well as weekly. The monthly rate was off season, and was very reasonable. Electricity on the monthly rate is extra, on the weekly rates it is included.

The park is very conveniently located to Tampa. You are about 10 miles to the airport, 15 miles to downtown, 20 miles to USF. It is conveniently located to other cities in the greater Bay Area as well. It is located a block off go Hillsborough Avenue, a main thoroughfare, on a quiet, mostly residential street. Shopping, gas, Walmart, Public, and many restaurants are less than 2-3 miles away.

The park was very clean and well managed. The pool was always sparkling clean and inviting. We don't use the showers or the laundry. The park is covered about 70% with oak trees, providing shade. The spots are wide and easy to back into.

The park guests are a mixture of overnighters, longtermers, and semi permanent. Everyone gets along well. The park management tries to group the longtermers, and the various types of groups together. The campsites are kept clean and organized, or management will correct it. The were no eye sore campsites at all.

Having stayed at several dozen RV parks and campsites in the past year, Bay Bayou definitely ranks near the top. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice Park. Sites are gravel and level. Site size is above average. Most or all sites are among trees. Satellite usage is not possible but they have good cable. WIFI was excellent for a park of this size. Very friendly staff. They have a very active social community. I would stay here again. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Most sites are on level gravel with cement patios. Some are on level grass. Ours was on grass, but it was good, with more space than the gravel sites. (We were told the grass sites are being redone this year.) WIFI is very good most of the time. Staff is nice; most are very helpful. Most sites have cable; ours didn't but there are a lot of local stations so television was no problem. Water is on two sides of the park; there are lovely docks for wine sipping but keep bug spray handy. Sites at the far end of the park are across the water from a busy road. That would be noisy, so if quiet is important, request something away from the far end of the park. If traveling during "snow bird" season, book ahead, although we saw various openings for possible short stays. Laundry is good; pool is heated. No hot tub. No pull-throughs. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

They have work campers who have mechanical, plumbing, etc. expertise who are available to assist with problems (for a price). We were so grateful to have this, as we had a plumbing problem and the person was wonderful at helping us resolve it!

Price listed is daily rate. Monthly rate is less; that's what we paid. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lovely RV park near downtown Tampa. Very park-like setting: many shade trees, roads well paved, sites are paved and roomy, grass, some gravel, and nice patio areas. This was mostly seasonals, and majority of 5th wheel homes, no doublewides. Easy to maneuver big rigs through the park itself. The thing that impressed us the most was the way every seasonal sites were so well kept with beautiful decks and patios, tasteful decorations, and an all around sense of home pride. There are 2 small ponds on the property with fountains so the water is clean. Bocce, horseshoes, nice pool area and a large clubhouse. We only have 1 negative: The entrance is very poor. They located the garbage dumpster right at the narrow roundabout that you must navigate to check-in. We could not make the turn as someone had parked there to dump trash. Because we are 40' AND towing, we had to disconnect to maneuver the curve. Very poorly laid out! Park is gated, staff are very friendly and accomdating. Unfortunately we were here for only 4 nights as a stopover. Would definitely come back. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is very nice - treed sites, nicely maintained, clean bathrooms, great pool. The security staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. The dog parks and bath station were a nice bonus.

The only thing that would make me hesitate about coming back here was the overall vibe about kids. They are allowed, but I didn't feel like they were welcome. Preferred clientele is obviously the retired crowd. Our kids are really quiet so this was no biggie, but if your kids are loud, I'd suggest staying somewhere else. This is a large, clean park. Most of the sites are a seasonal or permanent, but they are very well kept up. Many people have decks, flowers, etc.. The residents are all older, snowbirds, and very friendly. There is a very nice pool and community room. There are activities planned every day. The restrooms are very clean and modern, the showers are small but the water temperature and pressure are excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The sites are close together, are all back in, gravel with concrete pad patios and picnic tables. The wifi was not good at our site, even though it was close to the office. There are many cable channels, including HBO, ESPN, and Comedy Central. We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely return. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The entrance is tight with a big rig and toad. Some sites are great while others are terrible. When we checked in we were given a site that the help said "you must have booked late the good sites are gone". It sure didn't help my rate. He was right our site was on sand with neighbors very close. The renters here are mostly seasonal and friendly. The biggest complaint I have is a nice site behind me with gravel was open during our whole stay. Why were we not put there? We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park in a tropical setting, almost all sites under the shade of mature trees. Some sites gravel, some grass, all back-ins, mix of 30 & 50 amp. Larger rigs placed in grass area (50amp) on bayou, and these sites are very large. Other sites we're closer together, but not claustrophobic. This is a quiet park with many permanent residents that keep their sites neat and clean. Security gate at entrance with nightly patrols; we felt safe there. Although the park is located off a major road (580), it is tucked back along the bayou with minimal road noise. Wi-Fi worked well, pool, clean showers, activities, close to everything you need (grocery, Walmart, restaurants). We had no trouble maneuvering our 45' coach in the park. During our stay, there were several days of heavy rain and we had about 2-3" of standing water at our grass site. We moved to another site without incident. Would stay here again. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.
