We use rvparkreviews.com for every park we book. This one I should've realized that there was only one prior review; i'm guessing it was from a relative. This NOT a 10 park, at best my overall rating is 6 at best. This is a mixed park, a number of old mobile homes and full time rv's. The driveways are very tight as well as the spots. I'm not looking forward to pulling out in the morning as there are two trees flanking the exit (which you can only go one way) and branches will be scraping my 2 year old full body paint. Not happy! As in most parks, the wifi is intermittent. We didn't use the bathrooms but the building looks old. I've included a picture of the office; you don't see too many parks with an office like this. If you really can find anything else in this area go somewhere else. What bothered me the most was that there were larger sites which were empty which would've made it easier to get my 40' 5th wheel in easier, but they gave me a site which was quite small (on the same stretch of road and at the same cost) We camped at Hickory Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

First time at Hickory Point. There are waterfront, water view and inland sites. We had a water front site, full hook up, with a great view of the Anclote river. Site was gravel/crushed shell. Had to stay back at least 10 feet from seawall to level the Rig. Picnic table on site but leaned towards water. Sites were close. Park is tight to navigate for big rig, but we took it slow and had no issues. Laundry room is outdated. The park does need some upkeep as water front sites aren't level, sandy fronts and need a refresh of gravel/crushed shells. There are a few permanent mobile homes. No dog park, a small grass area to walk dogs. However, what a great location that is why I gave this park a 7. If you want to be close to the water, this park has direct water access. They have an internal park with boat ramp that you can launch small boat or kayaks. The park also has seating to watch the sunset out in the Gulf. We camped at Hickory Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a fairly well maintained campground, but the staff was not overly helpful at check in. Interior roads are asphalt and big rig access was fair. Our site was fairly spacious, we had space for our towed, plenty of shade trees, and a picnic table, however we had no privacy at all. The pull in pad was gravel and level, and we had a lovely view over the picnic area to the river, it was quiet with no road noise. The campground is very mixed with old junky mobile homes and full time RV's. Bathrooms were old and outdated but clean, I did not use the laundry. Pet friendly we saw lots of dogs here, and doggie bags are provided. Wifi was fine as was AT&T. We would stay here again, but only if we could get sites 208/209/210, which had more space, a lovely view of the river and felt less claustrophobic than the rest of the tightly packed campground, also there was no convenient place to hook up our towed. We felt the campground was too expensive for what it offered. We camped at Hickory Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are plenty of food stores, restaurants and sight seeing close by.

The park is what was expected from an older part of Florida, quaint and lot's of snow birds. There was plenty of shade with lot's of Spanish moss hanging, so don't expect your satellite to work, but I did receive 30+/- over the air stations. Our spot was considered water view and it was. The park was extremely quiet and everyone in the park was extremely friendly. The only noise was from the occasional boat on the water. The spot was pretty level, consisted of crushed shells and coral which made the ambience even better. They cleaned the roads of leaves every day, routinely picked any debris and always made sure the place looked as good as possible. Hookups were modern and worked as designed. We've been to newer parks that didn't have this good of layouts. The roads were a little tight but all were manageable with our coach. Extremely easy to find, very close to downtown and a short commute to Tampa. If you have a boat, grab a spot here as they have their own boat ramp and docks. The online map slightly differs, but is a good representation. Our spot had plenty of room with a huge yard and lot's of shrubs and flowers that were well maintained. We camped at Hickory Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Need a quick dinner, just a few minutes north by bike from the entrance is Miss Vickie's. It's a waterside bar/restaurant. It's entirely outdoors and has an incredible view. It's tucked into the backside of the marina by the water. Very good food and great views of the sunset.

The very best thing about this park is the shaded area overlooking Anclote River. This area would benefit with more chairs. No pool on site. Not enough shaded spots for the heat of Florida. Very well maintained. We camped at Hickory Point RV Park in a Motorhome.
