42 Parks near Thonotosassa, Florida
Feb 2016 - $30.00
Clean w/many park models but Nothing resort like about this park. Only amenities are the pool and laundry. Very narrow roads, rigs over 35 feet have a hard time negotiating. Unpaved pads where getting stuck is a major problem. No picnic tables, fire rings. The most unfriendly, un-cooperative management I have yet to meet in 2 years of full timing. Their fix for a complaint is to tell you to move! The positive parts...nice tenants and a good tenant organization that provides meals and entertainment on a regular basis. This park has potential with the right management and lots of improvement. - Cat Woods
Feb 2014 - $33.00
Camp Lemora is a very clean RV park with large lots offering some shade in spots. Hillsborough State Park and Dead River County Park are nearby with trail access to each. A very beautifully clean, heated swimming pool is available. Activities include golf (men and women), Bingo, various card games, dinners, breakfasts, etc. A Sunday non-denominational church service is held from November through April with cookies and coffee following the service. Camp Lemora is a great place to spend the winter. - bakernoggin
May 2006 - $35.00
Privately owned, close to nature, far from town, no amenities like LP(that stopped in 06 and trucks not allowed in except for park models)...they okay pets, but keep changing minds about how many (only two allowed maybe, maybe not depends on owner's mood)...they keep waffling about everything, sheds, hookups, lots, you name it...electric on, off, in summer mostly off...no concrete pads to speak of so it floods a lot, mega-flooding. No wifi, store at front has 2-year-old cans of soup...just not my idea of customer care. Prices up, amenities down. Sad. - Mollie Rose
Feb 2016 - $28.00
The people are so friendly and activities abound. One word of caution. Don't purchase the "high speed" internet. We did and it didn't work at all. Just go to the club house and use the internet for free. - June Foster
Feb 2016 - $29.00
Sights are tight. Residents not very friendly. Must pay for WI-FI if you want it at site (Very Good connection) reasonable rate. If old dilapidated rigs bother you forget it. Very quiet. - rontrem
Jan 2016 - $35.00
Older park with RV sites and park home sites. Easy access from I-75 or I-4. We choose this park due to its close proximity to the Tampa RV Show and we were less than 15 minutes away. There was an activity going on every night we were here up in the community building. The utilities all worked well and we had plenty of over air TV stations in addition to the 4 networks. We would camp here again and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We did not use the pool (well kept and very nice) due to uncooperative weather. We would camp here again. - Tomandgloria
Feb 2016 - $30.00
Very nice front desk gentleman. Was able to book same day. Lot we were put on was a little tight to maneuver with our 31 foot rv. Space between concrete pad and electrical post was about 9.5 feet. Clean baths, nice clubhouse. - KathyMike
Feb 2016 - $33.00
Went to the office to register, but they couldn't find my reservation. Not very professional at all. Blaming the computer for errors; they finally found it. Had to check on price several times.
Very dirty run down showers and restrooms in need of repair. The fellow campers were very friendly! The staff does not go out of their way to make you feel welcome. You are not allowed to play any cards or games in the "Media" room! No sink in there either. Manager doesn't seem to know how to be friendly. - Ginny1974
Jan 2016 - $35.00
I was drawn to this park because of the pics that they have on their site. They make it look awesome, but I simply could not find anything that remotely looked like what they say is this park! When you first enter the park all you see is unkempt roads and sites. The clubhouse looked somewhat kept, but average at best. There did not seem to be any "rules" in the park because most of the park models and sites where unkempt. The bathrooms were not clean at all and I would not have felt comfortable using them. I would not recommend in any way, very disappointing. - Robert Kinder
Aug 2016 - $17.00
$504/month plus electric.
The roads are asphalt. The sites are grassy/sand/dirt. There is a concrete patio and picnic table at each site. Depending on what spot you get, it can be a little difficult to get into. The ladies in the office when we checked in, weren't super knowledgeable about telling us which way to pull in, but they were nice.
Lots of shade. A fenced dog park. Treats for the pups up by the office. Washers are $1.50 (could be better), and dryers are $1.50. The pool is nice and has yet to be crowded at all. They say it is a 55+ park but they let us stay and I've seen kids and teenagers, as well as other couples in their 20s and 30s. There is a security guard at the front. - R-Gill513
Jun 2016 - $37.00
Asphalt paved roads offer pretty good maneuverability, even for bigger rigs. Campsites are relatively level, and sand with some grass mixed in. Swimming pool was nice, and seemed to be kept clean, except when there was a high bathing load, then the water took on a filmy kind of look. Which may be from inconsiderate people not following the obvious signage requesting one utilize the outside shower to hose off lotions and sprays before entering the pool. It's a smaller pool that got crowded with more than 5-6 people in at one time.
Two laundry rooms with low laundry rates ($1.50 for a wash). Older machines but functional. Most sites are well shaded. Free Wi-Fi was REAAALLLLY slow, sometimes not functional. So if Internet is important to you, you might want to go elsewhere. It frequently took forever for websites to load, usually with them eventually saying server not responding. Ice and soft drinks available for purchase. Limited office hours. Security guard on duty at night will check you in if arriving late. Nice office staff very helpful. Lots of restaurants close by, both fast food and nicer ones. Winn-Dixie and a great liquor store with good prices right down the road. Only 4 miles from Busch Gardens. - SJM Georgia
Apr 2014 - $18.00
Where do I start? This park is very convenient to attractions, shopping and outdoor venues. That's where it ends. The park is old, depressing looking, and spaces are very tight. A lot of permanents and seasonal people that have accumulated a lot of junk and mold. The RV storage area is neater looking than most of the park. They might as well throw away the rules, since they are not always abided by. On a daily basis three of the seasonal guests near us allowed their dogs to bark and run loose. One of the violators is a staff member. Lastly, the office Manager seems to be very organized but needs some "friendly" training. I have never graded a park this low and would never stay here again. - B&S
Aug 2016 - $24.00
This is a great park to stay at if you like wildlife, fishing, hiking, biking, etc. There is a rails to trails biking trail about 3 miles down the main road. There are several miles of hiking rails within the park. We saw alligators, armidillos, a huge owl, many types of birds, deer, and lots of insects. The sites have lots of space and the restrooms were kept clean. There is a gate at the front entrance that closes at sundown, but your receive the code at check in so you can still get in after hours. The rangers we spoke to were extremely friendly. There is a huge pool that is $4 a day if you like to swim. The only wifi is at the camp store next to the pool. Interior campground roads could be tight for larger rv's. - coldwaterconch
Jan 2016 - $24.00
Beautiful park. Friendly staff and volunteers. Lot of hiking trails, bike and golf cart rentals and even a pool which is closed until Spring. Sites are level with some vegetation. Saw a pretty big gator, an armadillo, lots of birds and pesky squirrels. Restrooms are modern and clean and laundry is available. Good TV reception and Verizon 4G. - LeeBob
Jan 2016 - $28.00
Excellent state park. Level camp sites, water and electric conveniently located. Great for biking or hiking. Service from park rangers were excellent. Would stay here again. - gmbmailbox
Aug 2016 - $29.00
This is a good central location to many things in the Tampa area. The campground was very clean and the screened pool was a hit with the kids. There is a very large gameroom with pingpong, pool, and other things for the kids to do. The wi-fi was strong on some days we were here, and other days we had to walk up to the rec room to get a good signal.
It is a fairly large campground, but they seemed to place you right next to other taken sites rather than spreading out. The sites were very small and close to each other so there was not a lot of room for kids to play. We didn't find the check in staff to be friendly. - coldwaterconch
Aug 2016 - $29.00
I love this place! The sites are spacious and the staff is nice. We came here to get our RV serviced across the street. Absolutely professional and just pleasant. So much to do here as well, or you can just do nothing and relax. We will definitely come back again!! - TravelRN3697
Jul 2016 - $39.00
Arrived on a Thursday night, and left on a Saturday morning. Park wasn't too busy as it was summer (off peak season). All the sites are very well groomed, and the location to hookups is perfect. It's clear the Lazy Days really thought this park through. The attendants were very helpful and didn't mind we had extra guests with us (and didn't charge us). Very friendly staff and a well maintained park. I did notice some units on sites that appeared to be for sale from the dealership that they put into the campground for some reason. Great visit and we will be back. - A Chevalier
Aug 2016 - $38.00
I was here from mid-July to mid-August, in a 25 ft mobile home. The park is clean, green, with loads of trees. Easy access to I-4 and within short distance of everything. Everyone has dogs here, but they were all super quiet and the owners always picked up after them. Great place to stay. - Inna M
Mar 2016 - $29.00
Typical Florida park. All grass site except the 10 by the pool/office.
Put us in B-9. Avoid the B section as it is the lowest point in the park and turns into a mud hole if it rains. Some activities. A lot of French Canadians as usual. These parks are owned by Sun Communities and could be a lot better if they started investing some time and money on the basic features. Probably would not come back here. Rate reflects monthly rate for a month. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. A lot of trees. Pine trees are dripping pitch. Again avoid the B section. - wrready2
Feb 2016 - $29.00
If you like dark thick mud, come to this park. There plenty everywhere! We stayed here a month. When we were backing into the first site we were assigned, we got stuck in the mud even with our truck in 4 wheel drive. The park had to bring a tractor and shovels to pull us out. The second site was better, but still dirt and mud. There is no grass nor concrete pads. Next, I stepped into one of the several ant hills on our site. This park is depressing. The owners really need to put some money into it. Too many ugly trees and they leak pitch on your vehicles. There are lots of old permanent structures with moss on them. I would never come back. Maybe a couple positive things: nice ladies in the office, WiFi worked 75% of the time, pool was nice, and all utilities worked. - JackieD
May 2016 - $16.00
This park is for members of any Elks Lodge and guests of the members. The grounds are well-kept and it is quite conveniently located, just 3 blocks north of Highway 60. Upon arrival pick a vacant site, set up, get registration forms from a box near the entrance, fill out and take into the lodge when the bar is open late afternoon and early evening. - Bill Strong
May 2015 - $30.00
I Do Not Recommend this RV park to anyone. First of all it's located in a really sketchy part of Tampa. We were there for 3 months. Our first month, during the daylight hours, we caught 3 local kids stealing one of our bikes, got it back that time, but a week later, they came back and cut the locks off both our bikes and took both of them. These kids continued to come back over and over. Also managing to steal other RVers bikes.
When it first happen, the acting manager said and I quote, "I can't be outside 24/7." Excuse me? Im sorry, but that is the wrong answer to tell your customers who pay quite a bit to stay in your not very attractive RV park. The people who run this place really don't care if anyone steals your stuff. I didn't even get an I'm sorry that happened to you.
This place is not your typical RV park. There are long term residents, its across the street from a family dollar. Its near Busch Gardens and a lot of businesses. Thats about the only thing it has going for it. The bathrooms are ok, however the stall doors are right in your face when you sit down. The laundry room is located in between the bathrooms. 2 out of 4 washers don't work and 2 of 3 dryers do work. There's no pool either. They also charge for electric.
I will never ever stay here again. If you decide to stay, its def going to be at your own risk and don't have any expectations. - Ellie Q
Jan 2015 - $30.00
Camp Nebraska is now called Tampa RV Park. There may be new owners/managers from the ones mentioned in older posts - the people we met were friendly and helpful. This is a good option if you want a campground IN Tampa. It is convenient to Bush Gardens, USF, I-275 and Downtown. It is in an area of town that has old businesses (including some strip clubs and tattoo parlors), but the park itself was quiet with not much traffic coming through it. I never felt unsafe there. There ARE some campers that are rented out as residences, and others who are there for the winter, but they have temporary guests as well, including some good size, newer RVs. The park is old, and the sites are fairly narrow - not much outdoor space, especially if you have slide-outs. There are concrete pads but the one on our site wasn't in a convenient place so we didn't use it. The restrooms don't have the best design, but were clean. 2 toilets, 2 showers, one dressing room and sink. The men's room had some plumbing issues, but they were working to correct that. They were having problems with the Wifi, but worked hard to get it working - it was better, but still sporadic. Tampa RV Park is NOT a resort!, but it was a very convenient place to stay, and we would stay there again. - TN Gator
Mar 2009 - $30.00
This park was scary. Its in a really old, bad part of town. I wasn't comfortable walking around in the park, and absolutely wasn't comfortable in the neighborhood. The park is the closest to Busch Gardens, but I would rather stay somewhere farther away that is nicer. Most of the residents are full-time permanent, in trailers that are no longer mobile. The park was noisy at night, with some pretty loud late parties, and a fight. The owner is hard of hearing, so this doesn't bother him. I wouldn't stay there again. The lots are level, and of good size. - Becky Jones
Mar 2012 - $35.00
Friendly staff, pay once you get there. Reservations recommended..within short walking distance to Strawberry Festival midway. Great location. Almost didn't want to review, to keep a secret so that it would not get overcrowded or sold out.. - MPD334
Mar 2012 - $35.00
Friendly staff. Must make reservations early to get full hookups. Will definitely stay here again. - chezhead
Mar 2010 - $35.00
Park is only open during the Strawberry Festival. Must have advance reservations, no drive up accommodations. A good place to stay while attending the Strawberry Festival. Sites are 20 ft. by 50 ft. No bathhouse. - packrat1941
