This is a retirement community with what appeared to be 100s of winter residents and maybe a few dozen sites for campers. The location is several miles off I-75 but easy to get to. There's a clean swimming pool, pool tables, meeting halls and Bingo offered the Thurs. we arrived. Everyone we met was nice and welcoming; our neighbors came by to introduce themselves the day after we set up camp. Even a woman I'd describe as the community's "hospitality lady" came by to explain all the social events there, not realizing we were leaving soon. We used the bathroom/shower facilities next to the pool; they were clean. My only complaint was that the shower head was pointed at and could not be moved away from the shower curtain, so I had to be careful not to let the spray douse the floor of the area where I'd be dressing afterward. This appears to be the set-up at many camp grounds, however. The price of $47/night does not include internet; you can purchase it for $5/night or $10/three nights. At first I was ticked that I had to pay extra, but the internet service was so good that I decided I'd rather pay more for fast service than be lured in at some RV park offering "free internet" only to find out they've purchased the worst service available -- meaning, essentially, no service. I've run into this "misleading advertising" several times the past few years at smaller campgrounds. The price here was on the high side, I thought, but for the quiet, friendliness, pool and cleanliness, I'll stay here the next time we're in the area. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Paved roads and cracked and aging cement patio under Spanish moss draped oaks. Nice woodsy setting although some traffic noise from nearby highway. Congenial office staff. Utility connections were convenient and good water pressure. Laundry was clean. Not so pet friendly. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The people are so friendly and activities abound. One word of caution. Don't purchase the "high speed" internet. We did and it didn't work at all. Just go to the club house and use the internet for free. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sights are tight. Residents not very friendly. Must pay for WI-FI if you want it at site (Very Good connection) reasonable rate. If old dilapidated rigs bother you forget it. Very quiet. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Older park with RV sites and park home sites. Easy access from I-75 or I-4. We choose this park due to its close proximity to the Tampa RV Show and we were less than 15 minutes away. There was an activity going on every night we were here up in the community building. The utilities all worked well and we had plenty of over air TV stations in addition to the 4 networks. We would camp here again and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We did not use the pool (well kept and very nice) due to uncooperative weather. We would camp here again. Tips for other Campers:

Very convenient to Tampa RV show. We visited Tampa Premium Outlet Mall about 20 minutes north on I 75. There are numerous restaurants, drug stores and USF about 15 minutes away. There is a Winn Dixie Grocery Store about 10 minutes away and you can be in Tampa within 15 minutes.

When we arrived and checked in, they had an usher lead us to our camp site. Once I was backed in they even provided blocking and leveling of our travel trailer. If we needed any wheel blocks they would have provided them also. The RV park was wonderful. Shady, very quite and very clean. We have raised three children, and we now have a grandchild, but we didn't see or hear any children during the four days my wife and I were there. Most of the folks are there from December through April, have been staying there for several years, and even have their same slots they have always had. Then go back up North to their homes for the summer. We plan on making Southern Aire RV Park, one of annual stops also. Great place. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Easily the worst experience we have ever had at an RV Park. Made reservations in advance and on day of our arrival they called us at 3pm (we were set to arrive about 6) and said we had 1 hour to get there or they would not park us... no kidding. They eventually conceded and let us "hook up" in their parking lot over night and then guided us in the next morning. When we awoke the main water main had been shutoff for repairs. Water was off all day and then when it came back on we were notified that it was probably contaminated with bacteria and we should boil it before using for 3-4 days. Contacted the office and explained the implications of pumping bad water through our fresh water system and asked if they would compensate us to disinfect the system; As you can guess they had no idea what we were referring to. Anyways we demanded a refund and got the heck out of there the next morning. Every "pro" on their website is false. The roads are not wide and are crumbling, spots are all back-ins, and there are low hanging trees. Mostly a bunch of grumpy seniors running around in golf carts. Enter at your own risk. We camped at Southern Aire RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A lot of permanent/seasonal sites, but they were in good repair, and the people were very friendly. During a “fun shuffle” period, they taught us how to play shuffleboard. A lot of events. We had some low-lying branches and Spanish moss that hit the top of the MH when the wind blew; we stopped by the office to ask to have them trimmed. By the time we returned to our site, the staff was already trimming away. This is the first Wilder park we stayed at and look forward to staying at others. I would have preferred 50 amp.
