Overall Rating:

Have 30' tow trailer. Sites are level but tight and not very private and mix of sand/dirt/grass. Fortunately we had some open sites between us and the water so it gave a more open feel. IF all sites occupied, it would feel very crowded. Sites nearer the water allow partial water views from outside of trailer. Short walk to fishing pier with beautiful views of river. Comfort stations have limited occupancy and reasonably clean. Trash needs to be taken to front of park (short drive or long walk). Picture ID of all required at check in. Can see Kennedy Space center launch area across the water and the entrance to the space center is very close to RV park (3 miles). Very good location if space center is being visited and exceptional location if viewing a launch. Repairs being made around the waters edge of park (some restricted access). Stayed 2 nights since this was a stop to visit Kennedy Space center in route to next location. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

50 amp, FHU site, waterfront view of the Indian River and the Kennedy Space Center. Staff has done a great job of cleaning the campground after the hurricanes of the last 2 years. Approx. 58 OTA TV signals, WIFI worked well most of the time. My only complaint was that a previous tenant of our site left behind dozens of cigarette butts. There used to be trash barrels located around the park but no more, the only trash facility is up by the old office building and it's a dumpster. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping is just down the road in Port St. John. Plenty to do in this area. Starting with the Kennedy Space Center there are a multitude of things to do in this area. Great beaches at the Canaveral National Seashore. If you like birding, you can visit the Black Point Preserve to see a great deal of wintering birds. Of course, Orlando and it's attractions is only about 50 miles away.

We spent 4 days here and had a great time. Very easy access from US1 into the park. Park is very well shaded. Very large rigs may experience some problems as there is drainage work being done and some of the interior roads are being detoured. We saw several 35+ foot units as well as 40 foot Class As in the inner portion so this may only be my imagination We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first stay at this campground. Easy turn in access. Once we got in they had moved the office signage was a little confusing. When we got their they ask for photo id's for everyone in the camper, (Strange I thought) so I asked why the lady stated that the local Sheriff Office wanted to have a list of people staying and photo id for everyone in the camp ground. That should have been my first clue. Later that weekend I figured out why, two sheriff units were at a couple sites located at the front of the camp ground. A lot of drinking going on. Nice camp ground will only stay during the week. Not a good place to be on the weekend a lot of tough characters. Rest rooms were clean and then trashed by the campers, thank goodness we had our own facilities. My wife said there were baby diapers left in the showers in the ladies room. Beautiful river front and great shade trees, good place to watch space launch from the reason why we were there. Also the War Bird museum just down the street a GREAT museum to visit and good value. this would be a great camp ground if users of the facilities would clean up their act. We stayed to ourselfs and did not have any problems, did meet a few nice campers. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.

I was really surprised by how nice this campground was. It is difficult to find a campground in Florida without reservations, and we just sort of stumbled into this one. It has a small, but nice pool. It has access to the Indian River. It is in a convenient location. Nice Place. Nice people. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice county park located right on the water across from the space center launching pads. Long fishing pier. Fenced in dog walk. Paved interior roads. Forested with tall trees. The sites are very close together but there are bushes between most sites that give a sense of privacy. The campground is quiet but there is road noise. The road noise is less at night. There were no puddles after a night of heavy rain. Good Verizon cell and internet connection. Small pool but it was crystal clear. Clean laundry room open 24/7. $2 wash and $2 dry. Would stay there again. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a county run park and had major hurricane damage. It is mostly fine now although some sites may never be restored. No rec hall at this time as it is used for an office with plans to rebuild the rec hall. They arranged for another hall close to Manatee Hammock to be used for quilting two days a week at no cost to the campers. There is FHU and PT sites. We have stayed her often and will return if we go back to Florida. Rate is by the month and is more if you are there a shorter time. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A perfect place to watch launches from Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral. Several Walmarts close by and Publix for shopping.

You can see the vehicle assembly building from your campsite if you are down by the water. There is a Walmart a few miles away if you forgot any items. They have a great pier for fishing and we were able to catch a lot of fish but they were all small. They have a dog park but it looks like people don't pick up after their dogs. It rained VERY hard one night while we were there but there wasn't any standing water the next morning. I thought that we were going to have to leave early but I was pleasantly surprised the next morning. My only criticisms of this park was the check in process - make sure to bring the tag numbers for your trailer and your tow vehicle or you will be running back out there like I did. Also, there were people across from us with a dog that would not stop barking any time it saw another dog. That meant that my dogs were stuck in the camper the entire time because they weren't considerate enough to silence their dog. That was a bummer because we like to have our dogs out with us but I wasn't willing to disturb the entire campground. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

No complaints about our stay here. The location is very pretty, right on the Indian River, with a fishing dock and nice open green area to enjoy. (No beach if you are looking for that.) The sites were quiet, clean and reasonably spacious, the store was stocked, the staff were pleasant to deal with. We also spent an afternoon in the pool, which was fine as well. There aren't a ton of amenities beyond the pool, but that's really nitpicking; it's a great quiet little place with a good location. We will certainly return again sometime. Nice shady park, although there is grass, most sites are sandy. We had a nice shady spot with a water view. RV sites have electric, water & sewer

Restrooms/showers , laundry clean and well maintained. WiFi was free but not fantastic

There is a pier on the river and we found this a great place to watch the launch at Cape Canaveral. There is also large fenced dog area.

We paid $12.50 for 2 nights with PA discount and one night full price. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed this peaceful, little campground so much that we added a 4th night to our stay. The campsites are packed sand and are well shaded. The roads in the campground are paved. Our site was full-service which is unusual for a municipal campground. The campground is right on the Indian River. It has a great view, and you can see the tall parts of the Kennedy Space Center across the way. There is a long fishing pier and a boat launch for canoes, kayaks and small john boats. There is a pool. The folks who work here are welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Kennedy Space Center is 20 minutes away. There is a Publix grocery store, liquor store and a Hair Cuttery 1.5 miles away, and a Winn Dixie 2 miles away. Port Canaveral is about 20 minutes away - and Seafood Atlantic is a great seafood market (it is also a restaurant, but we didn't try that).

Very basic, old fashioned campground. Paved interior roads but dirt sites. Roads are very narrow and marked one-way. The narrow roads could make it tough to maneuver into some sites. Trees prevent any grass from growing and make satellite reception difficult. Utilities worked fine. All were positioned midway in the site we had. Many different sized sites and some are on random angles to fit between trees. Wifi worked fine for us. Verizon signal strong. Call for reservation to ask specifics of sites versus using the online map. They have some sites that can only be reserved over the phone. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is a very shady campground with FHU. It appeared there are several permanent residents with pretty junky looking places. The spaces were pretty close together. Ours was a long site, but low-hanging branches on a tree made it very difficult to get into. It is a great location for seeing the Cape Canaveral and beaches area. They have a very nice dog park. There is also a train nearby that goes at all hours. Would've rated this place higher, but it just seemed dirty and too many permanent residents with lots of junk sitting out. Surprised a county par would allow 6 months residency in their park. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very shady and consequently a very dirty campground. This is a County owned park, thus the low per night cost. Excellent location to watch rocket launches from Cape Canaveral and side trips to Coca Beach. There is not a lot to do in the immediate area. There are a lot of permanents and tenters on weekends. If the need arises we would stay there again, but not on a weekend. We stayed in a motorhome. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.
