Excellent well maintained quiet campground and park. Facilities are good and staff is great. Sites are mostly shaded, level gravel, a couple close together. The cultural part of this experience is awesome. Several events held throughout the year. Check the schedule for those of interest. Well maintained museum, carillon, store and craft demos. Good hiking/biking trails, gazebo by the Suwannee River. Close by is Big Shoals SP with a different view of the river and plenty of hiking/biking. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed both the campground and the park itself at Stephen Foster. We reserved a specific spot online. Check-in at the main entrance was quick and easy. The staff at all locations throughout the part was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed this park. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

There are enough attractions at this park to keep anyone busy for at least a few days. The carillon tower tolls the hours and periodically plays selections of Stephen Fosters music. It is quiet at night though. The museum is not large, but it is interesting, and on some days they have live music with local performers playing period instruments. There is also a crafts and gift shop, and a crafts village where artisans work on their specialties. The hiking trails are extensive and interesting, including a section of the "Florida Trail" that parallels the Suwanee River. Our pull-thru campsite was spacious and separated from other sites by foliage, although other sites could still be seen. The hookups were well placed, and the tree cover was sparse enough that we had no problem getting a satellite signal with our portable dish. Verizon voice and data cell service was moderately strong and worked well. We plan to return again next winter. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

There isn't much in White Springs in the way of restaurants or stores, but Lake City is only about 10 miles away with plenty to choose from.

We spend one night at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center. We arrive fairly late and for us, we found that the directions to the campground could use some improvement.

The campground itself is VERY clean and well kept. When we arrived at the site, the gravel had been raked and the leaves blown off the parking area. The site was 100' long with plenty of room for both the 40' class A and our toad.

At our site, we had only 30 amp service and water available. There is a dump site near the exit. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

Three loops with 7 pull throughs, and 38 back in sites all wide most with some bushes between. The surface was dirt-sand-gravel. Some sites with wooden borders. Paved roads. The price was $22 with tax/nite, but reservations was $6.70 so cost was $28.70/nite. It is a nice CG per se, and the real draw is the lovely Tall Carillon with its tubular bells that are played automatically through out the day. Exhibits show the history of Stephen Foster, his songs, the resort town of White Springs, the spring house, the construction of the carillon and the bells and a museum with old pianos, paintings, and dioramas. There is a large gift shop with musical instruments, in season craft shops, and monthly events. Canoes are rented to use on the Suwannee river and extensive hiking trails. A great place to visit. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

This is one of Florida's parks that thy decorate with lights at Christmas. The sites are cleaned after the campers leave. There are both shaded and open sites. They have back in sites and pull through. They also have cabins that are fully furnished with linen and dishes. We have stayed here several times over the Christmas holidays. Great place for kids to ride bikes. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the nicest state park we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Not one bad site here. We are in a 100' very level pull through site surrounded by palm trees. It is a beautiful park and very well maintained. Access was easy off the interstate and the interior roads are easy to maneuver for our 40' fifth wheel. They have 50 amp available, but we stayed in a 30 amp due to late arrival. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow, what a great State Park. We spent only one night on our way across Florida but it would be worth making a special trip to stay at this park.

Whoever is in charge here is a stickler for details. Everything from the welcome, to the grounds, to the sites to the bathhouses was fantastic.

This is the prototype for how to make a great State Park. Well, worth the 9+ rating. If you are nearby Lake City, Florida make it a point to stop and stay here. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a museum, small craft shops, bike rentals and such on the well-kept grounds here. There was a wedding going on the day we were there and everyone was invited to attend. There's not much to the town but with a park this great that's OK.

All month during December they turn the park into a Christmas wonderland and folks drive thru and take hay rides, etc. Seems to be a pretty big deal.

Overall park area is beautiful around museum and tower. Gravel, level sites with trees all around. Road prone to flooding in rain. Verizon cell data service good. Unable to pick up any tv via antenna. Sites close but vegatation helps. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a very nice spot 11 in canebreak that backed up to a multiuse trail and a large shaded field. My dog loved it and went for a lot of walks. The spots are gravel, 50 amp and immaculately kept - kudos to the camp host! The carillon and museum and gift shop were all wonderful and everything was pristine. The mosquitoes were non existent here and I loved that about it. the restaurant wasn't open and not much happens here until the weekend. Tips for other Campers:

There are a lot of springs in the area that are worth seeing - we went in the direction of Live Oak and saw Peacock Springs and Charles Springs (hard to find) but there are many to be found and they are beautiful. White Springs doesn't have much to offer in the way of entertainment.

Fantastic state park! Clean and neatly kept all around - including: sites, playground, and attractions. Recycling in the campground was a welcome addition. All sites are a nice length that easily accommodate your unit and tow vehicle. A little tight getting through the check in/ranger station, but otherwise very RV friendly even for bigger units. Even though other sites nearby, there is plenty of privacy between each site by natural vegetation. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is everything we've looked for. Not fancy but functional. Lots of things to do to keep you busy for a day or two. Bike rentals, reasonable. Museum, gift shop. Lacks large/super stores but not an issue. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the best state parks we have ever stayed in. Huge spacious private sites. Our site seemed like a private oasis, so much so that we extended our stay by 2 days. Lots to do here and a really cool bell tower that goes off regularly. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

A beautiful park with a museum dedicated to Stephen Foster. A bell carrion tower rings out every 15 minutes and a song at the top of each hour. Sites were super clean and raked. It was obvious that the campground hosts worked hard on the appearance. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Travel Trailer.
