We've been to a lot of parks, campgrounds, and a few resorts, and I do believe this is one of the best, if not the best thought out campground I've seen. It is in a hilly section of woods, and there were no more trees removed than absolutely necessary. Even though some of the sites were in close proximity to one another, there was a feeling of seclusion. The restrooms were top notch; each of the four bathrooms I saw had a commode, a nice vanity, and spacious shower - very nice! We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lots of pines and two small lakes are featured at this camp. Lakes are catch and release. Small trees between sites. Trees prevent satellite use at many sites. DirecTV is available; plug in your receiver or rent one for $5 a night. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bishop is ideally located for traveling the Antebellum Trail - Madison is 20 minutes to the south and has beautiful houses and an outstanding walking tour with downloadable commentary. Don't miss Crowe's if you like smoked pork BBQ. Athens is 20 minutes to the north with the opulent Ware-Lyndon home. George's Low Country Table restaurant was excellent. The Georgia State Botanical Gardens were extensive and lovely.

Overall Rating:

This is a great little campground tucked in the woods just outside of Athens. The new owners (since Sept 2016) are noticeably continuing to invest in the facility which opened in 1986. This does not look like a 32-year old campground The staff couldn't have been nicer making extra effort to accommodate our date and motorhome size. While they are currently limited in the number of sites that can handle big rigs, they are developing 20 new sites that they said would be 40x100 feet and easily fit any size RV. Our site was level & clean and we really enjoyed the view of their lakes which have waterfalls and paths around them. The restrooms were spotless and the office area, while being quaint, is very up to date. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Athens is less than 12 miles away. Every major retail chain and restaurant is there and of course the University of Georgia offers fun dining & entertainment that you would expect in a college town. We had a great meal at The Office Sports Bar & Grill. Try the "Mac N Cheese Burger".

Overall Rating:

This park is located about 15 minutes from downtown Athens and is located between two small towns. It's is laid out around a very small lake and is fairly heavily wooded. Only a few sites have lake views. Entrance and exit to the site had to be done carefully due to numerous trees but it was possible in our 39 foot fifth wheel. The pull through space was extra long and relatively level. Utilities were well placed and easy to use. In the pull through spaces they have placed a wooden partition to separate units by the utilities. In order to use cable you must rent a receiver box from the office. OTA television was easily received. Had fair Verizon service but only intermittent Sprint. There are walking trails throughout the park but no special designated dog area. The laundry facility was convenient and clean with wash and dryer being a dollar fifty a load. Some of the smaller back and spaces were close to their neighbors. During our stay there was extremely heavy rain and our site drained well. Athens has many restaurants, chain and boutique type stores. There is a fuel station with diesel and gas located at the intersection of 186. We would stay here again. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cannot say enough good about this park! We stayed an entire month and if not for other commitments would have stayed longer. Great owners and staff. Only caution is make sure you check out your site before going to it with your unit. Lots of trees to weave through but office staff gives excellent advice on how to get in. Will return every chance we get. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I can think of no negatives, if you are in the area and the $40 doesn't bother you, try it out. It was just an overnight for us, but a very nice one. We'll use this again when we're in Athens. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I love this park. New owners took over in mid-October, and I can't say enough about how accessible and attentive they are. The park is lovely, with a beautiful lake in the middle. The new owners are investing in making it even better; when I was there, they paved the roads, and they're working on an expansion. The bathrooms are clean and spacious and the laundry is reasonably priced.

One thing that would make it better would be to add cable TV. Currently they offer Direct TV boxes for rent at $5/day, and I had a lot of trouble with it.

Overall, it's among the very best parks I've stayed at, and I've already made my reservation here for next spring! I highly recommend it. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here several times in the past and like it as an overnight. This time I called for reservations and was not told about PAY FOR VIEW cable nor did they give me the WiFi access information. I would hope they will remember this short fall and correct it in the future. Easy hook ups for all utilities. Fair voltage around 112 V operated both A/C ok. 2nd time in this campground. It is shady and level with pull-throughs large enough for big rigs. They have really tried to make this a nice campground with walking a path around a nice size man made lake. The sites were close but private with fencing and natural shrubbery. Lots of poison ivy on both visits so watch out! The thing I didn't like most is this is a "workers" campground. Lot of permanent blue collar workers making noise, talking, music, etc. really early in the mornings to the point of being rude. On the first visit there was a police chase with a crash resulting in front of our loop. So I'm thinking it isn't the best quality of people in this area. We used this as a stopover both times, but most likely won't be back because both times there seemed to be some kind of chaos. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small campground with two lakes/ponds. Great trail around the park and ponds. Nice deck out over the lake where you can sit. Very wooded. Some pull through sites. We were in a back in spot that was easy in and out. Only 39 sites and they are adding more. Spacious. Library, and elliptical workout machine. We stayed three days. Very quiet campground with great WiFi and great hookups. Thick gravel, but we leveled just fine. Trees in between sites. Not a resort. A campground. Would stay again for sure. We were here with our 34' 5th wheel for 4 nights while attending a training in Athens. It was easy to find and maneuver with a nice pull through with gravel pad. Since it was January and cold, we didn't get out much, but the lake looks like it would be nice in the season, nice wooded area and nice privacy fence panel between sites which was marvelous. Office staff very courteous and helpful. We camped at Pine Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
