I stayed the winter here, from December through May 2017. It's $500/month, including electricity. There is laundry on site as well as a diner with a M-F breakfast and lunch buffet that is very popular. Non-campers come in droves to eat there. The campground is pretty nice but run-down in parts. Certain areas are where folks have been living there for years. Other areas seem to be where the folks come and stay a while, then move on. Some shaded lots, some in open sun. I highly recommend the shaded ones. You're not paying for the electric here, but the a/c is working overtime. The water had a strange and very unpleasant smell to it at times and then it would resolve. There is something that bubbles up from something (can only assume it's sewage) near the center green area where the dogs are to be walked. I saw that they were working on that the week I was leaving so maybe it will never be an issue again. I did see the bathrooms and they looked fine. Private shower stalls. Laundry facilities were nice. Never had any problems using them. Close to Winn Dixie and other stores. Nice area where you're driving over bridges that cross over inlets to the sea. Very close to Jekyll Island. Hospitals and Veterinary clinics are nearby, truckstops are right around the corner. Campground isn't far from I-95. I would go back again, but choose my site more carefully. And I'd try the buffet, finally. There is a pool but not open in winter months (though it could be, as hot as it was most of the time.) There is a covered picnic table area outside of the office, near the pool, with ceiling fans. AND you get your own mail slot in the office. You can have packages delivered there, too. Convenient. However, the gals behind the counter are workcampers and with all those plates spinning, they can get overwhelmed. They need to have more than one person behind the counter. Ask for fire ring or you won't get one. Wifi isn't bad and can get cable if you get a box from the office. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.
Find a shady spot, enjoy the local bird chatter, get yourself to the beach, treat yourself to the buffet, buy your propane at the truck stop, not the campground, and just have a good time. Have a couple of jugs of drinking water on hand for times their water gets a little sulphur'ish.

We stayed here as a base for touring Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island. We ended up staying here for 5 nights. The price reflects the PA rate for the first 3 nights with 50 amp. The last 2 nights were at the regular rate of $37.50. This was an OK park. the sites are a little close. They are mostly pull through. Plenty long for our 35' fifth wheel and truck. The park is well located for visiting the islands. There's a Winn-Dixie market just down the street, but it's a bit of a drive for any other shopping. We would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Jekyll Island, Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Good biking trails on the island. St Simons Island. Nice little island town with a few good restaurants. Nice walk along the seawall and beach, and out onto the pier

We usually rely on the ratings in the Good Sam travel guide when looking for an overnight stop. After staying here we thought the owners brother must have rated this park. All gravel roads and sites; most very rough and uneven. They advertise "cable TV" but it is an antique Comcast system that you must plug your set into a receiver box- impossible when your TV is built-in. Well, we did have water, electric and sewer hook-up but that is the best we can say for this park. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

Good basic camp ground to use for sight seeing; sites large. flat, grassy; many older rigs in the back, but cam ground clean and friendly. would stay there again. Did have to use box for cable but lady in the office hooked it up for us. Thanks! We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nights at this campground while passing through town. First impression upon pulling in was poor. Tons of very old and dilapidated campers scattered every where. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. The sites are super close. Like awning almost touching neighbor close. We couldn't sit comfortably outside as we were literally up against our neighbor's rig. This place is terribly junky. Broken down campers, old junk cars, just overall not what we were expecting at all. The only positive that we found were the friendly staff and the decent bathroom facility. We didn't use the showers so I can't speak to the cleanliness. This campground is majority seasonal guests. If i ever stayed again, it would strictly be for an overnight stay and place to sleep. Would not recommend for any longer of a stay. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our 2nd (and probably last) time here. Must have been in a much better mood the last time we stayed here. They advertise "free cable" but you must put a $40 deposit on a receiver box the nwire it into your system in order to get anything.
Too much hassle for a one night stay. The parks in the area cover a wide spectrum of quality. This one falls somewhere just below the average. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

We were traveling with Adventure Caravans on a paid tour so I am not certain about the nightly rate.
I was not impressed with this park. The roads are not maintained and the sites were grass or dirt. There were many decrepit campers, even a burned out hull of one. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

The check in process was friendly and efficient. The office has an attached dining room where they serve food during the week which might appeal to some. We did not have a chance to use this being here on the week-end. There is a pool and laundry room - but again, we did not use.
This park has some problems with lots of large holes in the road which were filled with water/mud due to the rain. The ground/grassy areas were also muddy but this cannot be helped however the roads should be filled in properly. The area for parking is on a grassy area and not gravel or concrete - which creates major ruts around the site.
This park has "seen better days" as the saying goes and part of this is due to the large population of regulars who live here longer than overnight and leave lots of "stuff" around. The park is not well managed in this regard. They are in their own area but if one goes for a walk, it is less than appealing to see the lack of tidiness in the park. Plus there are many, many dogs/cats and picking up after the pets doesn't seem to be a practice. Plus barking is annoying.
Would we stay here again? Yes, because it is a real bargain and we had no difficulties with anything - though the WiFi is only fair. We used a hot spot - which works better. The bottom line is that this is good for a quick stopping point but there are several other parks in the area far more appealing (and more expensive) than this and if staying longer, we would opt for them. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.
Close to Jekyll Island - which is a great area to visit. They also have a wonderful RV park, though the sites are pretty close together but the location is great.

Very old, tired looking park. We are Passport America members and when I made the reservation the rate was $16 a night. When we checked in we were charged $22 plus taxes. When we questioned this, she said that the rates have changed. OK, I get that but they should have changed the listing on the Passport America web site. The next day it was changed. Parking is on grass and fairly level. A lot of long term residents with some having a lot of junk outside of their rigs. Good 50-amp power but very low water pressure. The WiFi is free but it is very slow. We were able to use our on-board satellite in site 41. We think $40 a night plus tax to park on grass is a bit expensive and we will not return even with the Passport America discount. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed for three nights in our motorhome. Sites are a bit close together, I had to move the neighbors picnic table to open my outside bay door. The laundry was adequate. Park was quiet. The WiFi was free and fabulous...always a premium point with us. It's only a 10 - 15 minute drive to almost any kind of shopping you might need. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.
Lots of shopping within a 10 - 15 minute drive.

We pulled in to stay for the night, office was closed. Sign said find a spot, pay in morning. People were pulled in every which way and there wasn't a map to follow only the one on the board. We stopped and walked around to see the numbers that had 50 amp hookups. There were trailers there with junk sitting around them that looked like squatters had taken up residence. Tractor trailer trucks and flat beds parked along the roadway. Not sure if people were staying in them or not. Hugh pot holes in drive way. Unkept people just "hanging out". This place was not appealing. We decided not to stay here. This was also marked a Good Sam Club Park. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ok for an overnight stay. Easy on and off access from I-95. They advertise "cable TV" but you have to get a cable box from the office (with a $40 deposit) and then hook it up to your TV. Very impractical for most RVs with built-in TVs, especially if you have more than one. If the front office had been truthful about this when we checked in, we would have gone elsewhere. Wifi connection was strong, however. Lots of pull-thru sites for overnighters, but beware the wicked right turns towards the exits if you park too close to the end of the row. As there are other more modern parks in the area, we would only stay here again if there were no vacancies at nearby parks. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Motorhome.

Simple park with sites far enough apart. We stayed three nights. The "permanent" folks were in a separate area. The restaurant is open Mon - Fri. Breakfast and Lunch. The Friday seafood buffet was very reasonable and great catfish and shrimp. Laundry was clean. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is old, sites were once gravel now overgrown with grass & no patio. Ground was soft during rain. Hookups were old. Stayed for 3 nights but didn't see a pool or playground. Several permanent residents, old and/or run down/abandoned campers on sites and in visible storage area. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Fifth Wheel.
