We stayed here over Father's Day Weekend and had a blast with the kids. I would recommend staying near the loop we were in if you plan on going to the beach or playground as it was a quick walk over there. If you want more privacy, I would say 130's to 140's. You might want to bring water shoes for the kids as there are sticks and rocks in the lake. Sites are well maintained...very quiet and peaceful at night. Next time I would try to stay at 108 or 110 as there is more grass there for the kids to run around. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was the opening weekend for the campground season. Park was in good shape. Area we were in had restrooms only, no bath house. Some site are smaller due to age of campground. Hosts are very friendly, and helpful. This is an old park built in 60's. First site we were reserved on could not get my camper on, even though it said it would accommodate. However hosts allowed us to move with no hassles. Good easy power hook up. Sites on the water are more expensive than inner sites. Weekend crowds book way ahead so you may or may not get a water site when lake is full. Over all good campground and location, as well as value. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Fifth Wheel.

There are only 2 full hookup sites, 150 and 151, and I had 151 which is actually 2 sites. No wifi or cable, but other utilities worked fine. Site is in the trees, so no satellite reception and limited antenna reception. Park is spectacular located on Lake Alatoona and is about 10 miles from Canton. There is a pre-registration process, but it is worthless. I still had to go through the entire regular government check in process when I arrived. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Lovely place to stay! We had 50 AMP, water, but no sewer. There is a dump station on site. Each overnight campsite has an area that is cleared out and contains small pebbles, where the grill, concrete picnic table, and fire ring is located. It was like a patio because there was adequate space to site around. We cannot say enough about the beauty of this park, which is along Lake Allatoona. It offers a beach area which has white sand, and a playground for children. Also contains a separate section for day campers. Nice areas for long walks and bicycle rides. Would recommend this park highly! We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for our first overnight trip in our new-to-us travel trailer. It was very quiet when we were here in March. The sites are nice and shaded and close to the lake. Our site, in particular, had a great view of the lake. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore, but this would be a great place in summer because of the easy swimming access to the lake. The workers here are very friendly. This is a great spot if you feel like relaxing by the lake (but note, there are motor boats, so they might be a bit distracting). Overall, this is a great spot and worked well for our first night out. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great campground. The only reason I didn't grade a 10 was that many of the water front camp sites could not be reserved; they were held for walk ups. Regardless, we reserved two campsites side by side. They were across the road from the water. They had great views of the lake. Each site had a concrete pad to park on, fire ring, grill, electric and water. The campground was laid back. It had a beach. We rented a boat and spent one day on the lake. It was great. We will visit this campground again. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful campground on Allatoona Lake. The sites are well-maintained and range from lake sites to treed and secluded sites. The restrooms were cleaned regularly, and the showers had hot water with strong water pressure. We were impressed with the friendly and efficient campground hosts. They were very professional and patrolled the campground often. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice COE park with well maintained sites. The hosts were friendly and the park was patrolled several times throughout the day. Some of the lower numbered sites, below 27, have the impact area located down a set steps from the driveway which is not very convent if you are in a camper or don't know the site is set up this way. There are actually two sites that have sewer, one is a single site and one is a double site. They are near the entrance and do not have a view of the lake and are not reservable. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in site 36. Had reservations for 4 nights, liked it so much we extended for 3 more. The only minus for this CG is that there are no sewer sites. It still gets a 10 in our book. Clean, grassy, concrete pads, paved roads, and very nice CG hosts make this place one of the nicest we've stayed in after 2 years on the road. Convenient to Atlanta, if cities are your thing, but nestled far enough out in the country to give you the woodsy feel. We will be back, when ever we're in the area. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed at site 135. The sites were level and paved with a large gravel area. We were able to put a awning over the picnic table, let our trailer awning out, put chairs around the fire ring and park our bikes. The site paved area was large enough for our camper and two vehicles. Most of the sites were the same size as ours. The ones near the lake had less trees and most were without electricity in those locations. The baths were old but clean. The staff was very friendly. I had made an error in our reservations and they helped me work it out. They even came to my camp site with the updated paper work. My husband went back and forth to work for two days and the park had a paved parking lot outside the gate for him to park. This was a very nice campground and I would stay here again. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice campground. The park is very well maintained and the bathrooms were very clean. The only complaint that anyone could have for this park would be the lack of full hookups, but that's what you get with a COE park. The site was very level and clean as usual. We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Allatoona is gorgeous and this campground on it has something for everyone, from tent sites nestled in the trees, to long pull through sites for big rigs. Access to the campground is easy and dump stations roomy. Each restroom also has one washer and one dryer, costing $1 per load. Roads in the campground and sites are recently paved. The lake was high when we were there so a few lakefront sites were flooded out. Our rate reflects the Golden Access Pass rate. We enjoyed the area so much we stayed two weeks! We camped at Sweetwater COE in a Fifth Wheel.
