We arrived the first day of the season. The grounds are beautiful and each of the sites, with very few exceptions, are flat with paved pads, packed gravel for the table area plus charcoal grill and lantern post. Most are in view of Lake Lanier, if not directly on the lake. Great shady sites. There is a small swimming beach area in the middle of the campground area which is open to the public as well as the campers. When the site closes at 10:30 pm, campers are inside until the park reopens the next morning. This campground is quiet and personnel are very nice. When we were there, though, we had problems with the water at our site, which may have been due to non-use during the park's winter closure. There was mud and a silt-like debris in the water at our site. The central bathhouse also had problems with water. When toilets were flushed, water backed up from the floor drain between the toilet stalls, spewing water and dirt over the floor. Again, this may be due to winter non-use and the need for seasonal maintenance but it was a nasty surprise nonetheless. The negatives were not enough to keep us from returning in the future, though, since the campground really is a beautiful location with well maintained grounds. The rate reflects a Senior discount. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

All sites here appeared to be back in. Ours was spacious, with a concrete pad for the rig, and a crushed gravel area for living. It came complete with a picnic table, hook for a lantern, and fire ring. We were lakefront, though it was a bit of a walk through the woods to the edge. There was a nice little beach area across the road. The sites are wooded with a lot of space between you and your neighbor. The lake is used by all sorts of motorized water vessels, and it was little loud at times. The bath house was very clean, and nice, if a little dark at night. The gate staff was nice. There is NO store or ice available on site. The access to the park was a little strange, taking you through a residential subdivision to get there. Signage was minimal, but the GPS found it just fine. They close the gates at 8 pm. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.

We have camped here three times now and have camped at two other corps of engineer campgrounds. They are all excellent. Bald Ridge has a large section of very wooded sites that are right next to the water. Sites are well spaced. CG is always quiet. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Awesome...wonderful campground. Wish they had sewer we would have stayed 2 weeks. Lots are spacious and private. Waterfront lots are really nice. One section is very wooded for tent camping. We were in a 40' motor home and picked a larger lot that was not as shady. Quiet. My MiFi card was slow. Hosts are super. Nice dock and ramp. We will be back. Outstanding CG, with huge level sites, many right on the water or with great views, and lots of space between them. Some sites have better view of water than others. Good roads for easy maneuvering. The shade was great, but not for satellite reception. Very nice staff and the CG is very well-run. I reluctantly entered this review as I thought I'd like to keep it a secret! Can't wait to come back. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.

This campground is very clean and well maintained. The camper spaces are large and spread out. You are not arranged in rows; not on top of each other. Our space was shaded most all day except 1-3:30pm. Our lot was very level - all we had to do was disconnect from the truck and support with the jacks. Most all camper spots have paved/concrete driveway and pads for the camper and vehicle. (Please use the campground website to see photos of each site. The photos represent the sites well.) Our camping picnic area was level and surfaced with fine crushed gravel. We liked it, but does require rugs and sweeping out of the camper regularly. We had plenty of space to set up games, roll out our awning, tie out the doggie, and enjoy ourselves. The campground itself is very quiet and peaceful. Also, the campground is mostly level, so it is enjoyable for bicycles and kids. Most of the noise came from the boaters on the lake. The lake level is down, but that didn't stop us from fishing. The bathhouse was clean and had a wonderful shower system with stainless walls and adjustable pressurized showerheads. The bathhouse can get a little steamy in the late evening, but understandable at the end of a hot day. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely camp here again in the near future. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

This place would get a 10 IF the lake was up. I can imagine how much nicer it would have been if the lake didn't shrink, allowing lots of red clay/mud to enter into the fantastic view and mess up me and my kayak. We stay at lots of COE campgrounds, and this is one of the nicest as far as design and utilities. The sites are very large and mostly heavily treed, and Uncle Sam is actually mowing the grass here! Senior rate of $16 is higher than most COE parks, but is still worth the $32 regular rate. The only negative other than the lake level is no sewer, which is pretty standard where the grounds can get flooded. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.

A very quiet and beautiful park with many large, level, and shaded sites with almost all having a view of the lake. This is by far the cleanest COE park we've visited. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The only reason this park doesn't get a 10 rating is because of the lack of sewer connections, although it does have a dump station. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.

LOVE this Army Corps Engineer CG located off Exit 16, GA-400N, Cumming GA area. Golden Age Senior rate if $16/night. We stayed 2-nights this trip. All sites are either adjacent to water or have view of water. Very easy access, paved roads, paved pad for MH, and compacted gravel for patio area. We've been here 3-times in past 13-months. Three different sites...all of which have been wonderful. Only sad part of this is early closing of park this year on Sep. 8th. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.

This campground has been a family favorite of ours for more than twenty years. In 1990 we paid $18/day and pitched tents on really nice tent pads with access to water and electricity. Now, in 2012 it is $32/day, 50amp service and a pull through site with a 5th wheel. If this CG had sewer hook ups I would rate it a ten. Sites are level, several have steep driveways that cause all but the shortest rigs to drag. Spacing between sites is very comfortable. Trees and brush are so thick that privacy is really nice. Shade is heavy for most sites, a clear shot to pick up satellite signals are hard to come by in two of the three loops. The one loop with the boat ramp has most of the pull throughs and these have little to no shade. No matter how you come at it, this is one of the COE's crown jewels. It is a shame they close for the winter, the demand for this campground is so great it would stay full even in the dead of winter. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice Federal Park that we continue to visit after many years. The sites are generous, the grounds are well kept and all the people who work here are friendly and helpful. This facility is very strict about quiet hour, and no alcohol consumption. The gate is locked from 10pm until 7am. There is a new playground for the kids. The only negative is that the low water in Lake Lanier makes the sandy beach useless. The campground usually clears out on Sunday and is fairly unpopulated until Friday. It is open only for the Summer months. A reservation is recommended for the weekends. Each site has water and electricity. There is a pull through dump and several clean shower houses. The washers and dryers are very reasonably priced. We camped here for 2 weeks. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

This COE is our family favorite. Virtually not a "bad" site in the campground. All sites have been upgraded to 50 amp service. When the lake is not down due to drought, the swimming beach with its St. Augustine grass lawn area and thick, soft sand beach are really nice. Shade trees are abundant but there is one section (big rig pull through sites) that are open and 'satellite ready'. I would have rated this campground at least a 9 if it were not for the new rates of $32/night. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

I agree, this campground is awesome in every respect. Restrooms and showers are very clean. My wife even like the bathrooms and showers and she is picky. With the senior pass, the rate was discounted 50%. We had a back in site right on the water and had an easy time navigating around the campground with our 45' motorhome. Our Verizon MiFi worked pretty well. We will definitely come again. We camped at Bald Ridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.
