Nice little park we have stayed out several times. Few facilities/amenities but we are self contained and don't need them. Nice people. Very dog friendly with pet stations everywhere. Great landscaping and the lakes are beautiful. Sites on the hill are wooded and large. Getting Satellite is challenge but we were able to do it on site 16. Could not do it on another stay on site 11. If you don't need sewer, stay down by the lake and pull in head first (if in a motorhome). You'll probably need an extension cord and those for 50 amp are expensive but the view will be great. 5'ers can back in and be all set. Lots of swings surround the lake and at night, it's all lit up. There is a nature trail that goes clear around the lake on the left. Good fishing if you like to fish. Cash or check only. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed 8 nights. Paid $280 or $35/night - no addl tax or fees. **Note - they only accept cash or checks** Reservations must be made by telephone but I always found the phones were answered promptly and the staff to be capable and friendly. No up front money is collected - just pay at check-in. We called (on day of) to see if we could arrive one day early. Office staff was friendly and accommodating and able to get us in (although we had to change sites after the first night). Easy on/off the freeway. Tip - when on Atlanta Hwy, the turn to the campground is where you see a sign "Mr. Fix". There is a campground sign but, for us, the "Mr. Fix" sign was easier to see. Check in was easy and efficient. There is plenty of room to park in front of the office and disconnect/reconnect the toad. We stayed on the plateau area (sites 41-51) in order to have 50 amp/water/sewer. The plateau is gravel and can be a little dusty if it's dry and a car drives by or a strong wind blows. On the other hand, we had a decent amount of rain one day/night and did not see any water pooling. The lakes are pretty and there is a small trail which allows you to walk around the perimeter of one lake (great for dog walking too). Overall park is clean although we did find (and dispose of) numerous cigarette butts in our site (gross!). Neighbors were pleasant. Very quiet day and night. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Open sky for DirecTV signal. Verizon cell and Mifi worked well. CG wifi was about as good as it gets working well nearly 100% of the time. I did not see any recycling. If you are a motorhome and if you don't need sewer and if you have a good amount of hose length, I suggest pulling nose-in to the lakefront sites 71-74 & 80-90. That way you'll have a wonderful view of the lake through your windshield. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Highly recommend Fowler Park. Turn right from CG on Atlanta Hwy and go about 2 miles. Fowler Park has tons of amenities (sports fields, track, basketball courts, skate park, etc.) and you can access Big Creek Greenway for walking, running, cycling or dog walking. The Greenway is a lovely, safe off-road path. Gibbs Gardens is 220 acres of beautiful. Allow plenty of time, wear comfy shoes and enjoy! We discovered good burgers and extra-yummy fries at Burger Bus in Ball Ground (near Gibbs Gardens).

Nice people, well maintained, check or cash only, full hook-ups, Sprint cell good, Satellite locked easily. Most water front sites do not have sewer. The electrical box on our site was about 10" above the ground, our slide went over it easily - very innovative! Some might call our site, the big gravel lot, but the beauty was the drainage when it rains and parking for our MDT. Plenty of room to back in. We will come back! We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

As detailed in previous reviews, the permanent sites on the hill in the trees are well spaced, the lower transient & lakeside sites are jammed together in a couple of gravel parking lot areas. The utilities are hap-hazard arranged in the rear of the sites ON the ground. AT&T mifi was 2 bars, campground wifi was weak to none. OTA was about 30+ channels. There is NO cable TV and NO playground areas. Only thing going for this campground is the lakes which are really just large ponds. OK for an overnight or 2 but that's all. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a strange park. Half the park is in a wooded area on a hill, and those sites are well-spaced, shaded and very attractive. The other half is more like a WalMart parking lot with hookups. Unfortunately, we were in the latter. Our site was gravel, and if we opened our awning, it hung over the driveway that provided access to our site plus two others. The park seems to cater to a lot of semi-permanent or permanent residents, and there is a school bus that comes into the park to pick up kids. Staff was friendly. Propane and ice available and reasonably priced. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, clean and quiet park; doggy stands placed throughout park. Picnic table and Wi-Fi but we connected our own cable. Landscape well maintained and staff is very friendly. Nice lake too and park is nearby to walk your pet. Propane is on premise and so is trash. We would stay here again! We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin lakes is neither a good or bad park, it's not really an RV park, but is more similar to a mobile home park. Absolutely no amenities or facilities available. Electrical service is iffy at best, so be sure you have surge protection on your coach. Tight sites, grass & weeds growing through the gravel and there is no policing of resident's sites and many are cluttered with junk. It's primary benefit is that it is literally the only park with FHU sites in the area and the owners capitalized on this by raising the monthly rates by 25% over our visit last year with zero improvements Of services or amenities. The current owner seems to have little interest in their guests. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Utilities are in the right place on our site and worked well, although the water hookups are in a hole underground making it awkward to access (it is because it freezes in winter). WIFI was strong and consistent with our signal amplifier. There are no excellent RV parks in the north Atlanta area, so this is clearly the best there is. Sites are level on gravel and easy to access. Nice ponds with fountains. If you want to have a site on the water don't plan to stay long - they have no sewer hookups. Park remains in the 19th century in that they do not take credit cards. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

This place has a split personality. There's a section with monthly or seasonal sites. They are very wooded & seem to have space between sites. There's sites as you come in that are on gravel & looks like a parking lot. Very close sites. We're in a section that is also on gravel. Some space between sites, back up to a grassy area. The picnic table is old. I don't think we'd come back here. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

My site was a pull thru that was not level and was just long enough for my 33 foot 5th wheel. The sites are very close together. During the night, some idiot was using the campground roads as a drag strip. This campground is more of a mobile home park than a recreational park. If you are staying here, you are better off taking a site down by the lake. I will not stay here again. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I stayed here in a premium site for 2.5 years while working in Alpharetta. Although my site had lots of trees, I was able to use my Winegard Walk Out for DTV with no problem year round. The reason the water hook ups are in the ground is so they work in the winter - it can get down in the single digits and it is mandatory that you have a properly heated and insulated water hookup from Oct - Mar. The staff are great. Even when we lost power (entire campground) during an ice storm, it was restored the next morning. Very safe park and plenty of places within easy access for dining, shopping, etc. Highly recommend this park. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Lakes is about 10 minutes north of Alpharetta so it's in a convenient location for visiting that area (we were there to visit friends). There's a great supermarket (Ingles) just a mile or so away. Access to the park is down a narrow local road but it's not far so wasn't a major issue. The park itself is in a pretty, scenic location, but the sites themselves are problematic. If you're able to get a premium site (we weren't, they were all taken, even though we made our reservation over a month in advance), you'll have a huge wooded site, possibly shared with another RV, tiered along a very steep hill. The standard sites, only $5 cheaper, are tightly packed in a dead-end gravel parking lot (a trailer that came in after us spent 15 minutes making a 20-point turn trying to get backed into their site at the end of the lot). The other odd thing about our lot was that the water spigot was embedded in the ground, rather than on a post, making it difficult (and wet and muddy) to hook up the water. We paid $30/night, and the rate goes up to $35 for 2017, no credit cards accepted. The WiFi worked decently well when we could get connected, but there were plenty of times it refused to connect. Apart from the disappointment of the site, the area is pretty and quiet, and there's a short loop trail around one of the lakes which we walked our dog on daily (it requires some rock-hopping over a stream). Overall it's a decent home base for a local visit but if we return it'll be just for a few days to visit friends again (unless a premium site is available, in which case we might stay a little longer). We camped at Twin Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.
