Basics: Roads are paved and smooth but a bit tight in some places. Sites are sand and gravel both depending on where you at. Sites are flat to kind of flat depending on where you are. All with water and Power: 50/30/20 amp is generally only in the loop next to the lake with a few other sites included. The other sites are 30/30/20. Note we were in site 30 and had to move because the 30 amp breaker kept tripping on one plug and had no power on there other. Bathrooms and showers were clean, with hot to warm water with OK pressure. No Wifi but Verizon phone and Mifi worked fine. Campground hosts were friendly as were rangers at the check in but they were pretty short on information about the park and the area. The CG is right on a lake and there's a hiking trail and boat ramp close by. There are playgrounds and a swim beach on the other side of the lake from the CG. The time of year we were here the place was very laid back and quiet and had none of the problems mentioned in previous post. Note I would have given it a higher rating but for the power problem. The host said he replaced one breaker and not the other one I was having problems with. I had checked the pedestal with a meter prior to plugging in and it had good voltage, ground, and polarity. We moved that morning and got a 50 amp site and had no problems with the power there. Our first site #30 was sand and grass and very level. Our second site was right on the lake and we had to put down 4.5" of lift on the front wheels to keep it in the optimal range for our air bag system. All but 7 sites are drive through and some are at some pretty steep grades from level. You can make non site specific reservations on the reservation site. All sites except the reserved handicap are on a 1st come basis. One dump station in the CG. We'd stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

On an ACE lake so fishing and boating are big. There are a few restaurants in the area and the closes town (driving) is about 15 miles away. There's a convenient store and liq. store just outside the park.

Overall Rating:

This is a drop dead gorgeous state park directly on Lake Seminole; however, the campground could be a "campers gone wild" scenario. Have spent a considerable amount of time in our beautiful Georgia state parks, but have never seen such a blatant disregard for the normal rules in these campground. People with lakefront sites that have an RV, but no campers, with multiple tags on their posts. Apparently they are automatically renewed every 14 days somehow. They don't even bother to take down the old tags. Several sites with several cars, golf carts, trailers, boats, jet skis and whatever. There are 2 camp hosts; however, one had an "off duty" sign up the entire week we were here (maybe on vacation)? The other host drives around in their golf cart and that is pretty much the extent. Bathroom has not been cleaned since we arrived (shower floor covered in sand), toilet paper on the floors and counter tops not wiped down. There were a couple dogs running loose in the park and instead of trying to get to them they simply drove by and pointed at them. This shouldn't surprise me since I personally witnessed the female host allow her little dog to poop on our site and not clean it up. Not sure who is responsible for keeping things up to snuff at this particular park, but it is quite disappointing compared to the management we have experienced at all the others. And the shame is although it is a beautiful location not sure I would return since there is no sewer hook up and forced to use the bath house which really was gross. On the brighter side if you have a boat you can put it in the water and tie up and anchor right on the shore where you site is. Great for fishermen and other boaters. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

Limited availability of things to do in the area. Most restaurants only open for long weekends and Piggly Wiggly in Dawsonville looked like your only option for groceries.

Spacious sites that are open to view from one end of the campground to the other. Bring a big fan to use outside with plenty of bug spray. Also a lot of ants. Nice connection to the Chattahoochee River from the small Lake Seminole. Majority of campers are fishermen and at least one had a very loud air-boat while we were there. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice general store just outside State Park offered very good hand-cut beef steak any thickness you desired. We grilled our 1 1/2 incher for a delicious dinner. The nearest town is 16 miles away so get most of your supplies before you arrive.

This is very nice park. We arrived in the middle of the week and had our choice of camp sites. We chose site number 9 near the water. Almost all sites are pull-through and well spaced out, but it’s easy to see what your neighbor’s doing since there is little or no vegetation between sites. The pull-through site was gravel and nearly level. Parking on some of the other sites were dirt and grass and may require some leveling. Some of them look as though they had not been used much. The bathhouse closest to the lagoon was clean and well maintained but only had 2 showers. The park began to fill up on the weekend but still had plenty of vacant sites. We had excellent AT&T cell phone service. We were there on a nice weekend in the middle of May and the lagoon filled up with jet skis and boats pulling skiers and tubers. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I spent a very enjoyable 3 days here. The park is a little out of the way, but worth the trip. There are a large number of pull-through sites but most will need at least some leveling. Clean restrooms and everything looked well maintained. No Wi-Fi at registration and no cell phone coverage (Sprint network). We camped at Seminole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A nice quiet campground, during the week, anyway. The lake is small, but there are lot of waterfowl and songbirds. The trails are good and interesting. Senior discount yields a twenty percent off for us over 62. There is only one washer and dryer available, but reasonably priced. Some sites are pull-throughs and fairly level. No motorhome propane is available anywhere nearby. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The park was pretty and there were plenty of campsites to choose from. The sites are first come first serve. That made me nervous at first, but the all the sites were drive-thru and had plenty of room. It is great for kids and bicycles. There are two comfort stations. One new with plenty of room that included two showers. The second comfort station near the rear of the park was the oldest with small showers and toilets. It could use an interior face lift. The best thing I liked about this park was the amount of room between sites and the amount of room provided to each site. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park was very quiet. It is about 20 miles from Bainbridge and Donalsonville. The site were level and very clean. Plenty of room for kids to run and play. Even has a putt putt golf course on site. We will come back. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for one night only. It's a great park, but the sites are a bit tight for our 45' motorhome. Lots to do, but not enough time for us to do it as we were headed south to Florida. We will stop back again when we have more time. We consider this park a good find, not far off the beaten trail. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an excellent campground. Good size sites. Open. Lake front sites are great. Friendly staff. Roads are good. I don’t understand other reviewers who take off points for barking dogs or arriving after dark. That is not the campground’s fault. If I don’t like someone’s dog barking I politely talk to the person myself. I certainly don’t expect anyone else to do it. Now, if you ask the CG staff person to ask them to stop the barking and they don’t, that’s a different story. Anyway, this is a wonderful, family-friendly place and we will definitely be back again. Being able to make reservations would be better, but first come first serve is fine. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pretty well off the beaten track so not ideal for stopover camping en route to somewhere else, but perfect if this is your destination. Sites are large and far apart. You cannot reserve specific sites, they are first come, first served (except ADA sites). Great views of the water and you can launch a canoe or kayak from most of the lakefront sites. Bath house is clean, but only two showers and two stalls. Lots of osprey and Canada geese in the campground area. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park sets on Lake Seminole, large at 37,500 acres but at campground you only see a small part of lake. Roads to park are asphalt and in good shape. Roads in campground are on the small side. Sites are a mix of grave and dirt, off level in most cases, wide, long, and not on top of the next site. Sites have a cement table, fire ring, and BBQ cooking equipment. Rate were for seniors and we had a year park pass. You need a park pass to get in or pay the daily rate. Dump station was set up in a odd way to get out of park. Playground equipment for the kids and it looked new. Staff was nice at check in. You also have 14 large cottages for rent if you need one. Verizon cell phone was to the top here. Sat. dishes work best on the ground due to trees. DTV will pick up number of channels over the air. Large white sand beach on other side of park for swimming. Mini golf, plus number of games to play as well. Gates are locked at 10:00 pm. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

A beautiful well kept park on a very scenic lake. Most all campsites are large and pull through. Many sites are on the water and almost all others have a view of the lake. The road through the camping area is one way and toward the end it gets narrow and winding but with caution we had no problem. There is a dump station centrally located with an easy pull through. The only negative we can comment on is the trash dumpster which was overdue for being emptied and smelled extremely bad. Fortunately it is located far enough from the campsites that it was only a problem when disposing of garbage. We will certainly be returning here in the future. We camped at Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.
