This is a really nice park secluded in the forest of central Georgia. It is the oldest state park in the US but doesn't look it. The sites are well laid out and will accommodate most any size rig. They are level gravel with fire pits, lantern post, and picnic tables. You are in the woods of Georgia here so, don't expect satellite access but we did have a steady 2/5 bars Verizon service. No sewer hook ups but there is a gray water dump cans in the ground throughout the campground. The bath houses are older but kept clean. We found only one of two pay washing machine that worked. There are no dryers in the campground. A word of caution here; the roads are narrow in places and check in is at the Visitors Center. The park signs are not clear about this and if you pass the Visitors Center turning around is very difficult. We chose Indian Springs looking for a quiet relaxing stay for a few days and were not disappointed. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice state park with full hookup including cable TV. WIFI is only at the office. The $35 includes a daily entrance fee of $5. It's a lovely setting in rolling hills. You pick your site after you pull in, which means you'll probably get the best open site, but does require driving around the campground looking for the best open site (unless you've been there before). Some sites back up to a small lake, but you are set up very high away from the water. Our site was not pull-through, but was long enough that we did not have to unhook. We liked it here and would go back. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Some of the normal activities in the park were curtailed due to rebuild of a dam that was in progress at the time of our visit. Park had working cable and reliable water and electric. Dump station water hose needed repair but that's a minor thing. The site we stayed in was bounded on two sides by woods and had a "deck" in the rear. The site itself was level and setup was easy, however there was a "dip" at the entrance to the site that put some stress on my hitch and towing equipment. Most sites did not have this problem from what I saw. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This happens to be the oldest state park in the US. Nice shady sites with water, electric and cable. Wish there was sewer to make this a great destination point. Very convenient if you are on the southern route that is "anything to not drive through Atlanta". Staff very friendly. Park and bathhouses very clean. This was a two night stop over, but will stay on our list as the same when touring through Georgia. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

The roads in the campground are black top and the sites are nicely graveled. The sites in Georgia state parks are on a first come process. We arrived on a Saturday morning when most sites were taken but still found a nice site. Water and electric (30 and 50 amp) are available but no sewer hook up. Dump station available at entrance. Cable TV available at each site. WiFI available only at headquarters. AT&T was good. Showers are cleaned by campground hosts and are in good condition.
Check in was a little awkward as there is no place to park your rig. You park on the road and enter the office to check in. Depending on which entrance you use, you may have to leave the park and go round to re-enter to go in the opposite direction to the camp sites. Was not a difficult operation but a little unusual. Other then that, this is a beautiful campground, one of the best in the Georgia state park system. We camped here for three days. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The campgrounds hosts were very helpful and friendly. They worked on keeping the bathrooms clean Labor Day weekend. The park itself has some tight hairpin turns, which made it somewhat difficult to navigate with my 32' motorhome while pulling the car. The gravel pads were level. The sites are pretty good size for the most part. There are a good number of mature trees providing decent shade. The beach was in rough shape at the end of the summer season. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 4 nights with two other camping couples. We have camped many state parks in the last 3 years and Georgia continues to have some of the nicest and cleanest parks that we have stayed in. Indian Springs was no exception. The staff was very nice and helpful, the campsites were clean, no trash or ashes in the fire rings, and the restrooms were cleaned everyday that we were there. Would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Dauset Trails is an animal rehab facility located nearby. Some of the animals that cannot be released are kept at the facility and so it is enjoyable place to visit especially for young children.

RV sites are first come, first served, and include only 2 50-amp lots and 1 pull-through. Off/shoulder season best as sites are close together although offset to give most a view. Lovely CCC stone buildings around were built around the ancient spring first used by Native Americans for alleged health benefits. You're free to drink, bottle or lather the sulfurous water on affected body parts. Didn't cure the writer's arthritis. "'Multiuse' Trail" only for hikers and very experienced and well-conditioned mountain bikers. "Nature Trail" can be hiked by those in average condition. Park has miles of paved road with a lot of "hoops and hollers" (up and downs) that will challenge bike riders in only fair condition. Lovely stream near the entrance with lots of flat rocks can be climbed. Day use area has beach and is well away from camping spots. Fishing available. Town couple tenths of a mile from park entrance had only one open shop, a general store with everything from bug spray to worms for fishing, and an open-carry clerk. Well worth a couple days stay. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for the second time and it just gets better, We had site 78, level, nice woods, and an inlet view. Easy to get my 35' RV in with room to spare. Can't say enough about camp host who are friendly and helpful. I saw him and his wife many times and he was always there to lend a hand. I am coming back. Campground consisted of three different loops. Some sites were very small, but most would accommodate larger RVs. Dump station was quite a distance from the campground. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice, Clean park. Sites are staggered and often do not have any privacy barrier between them. Sites are large so even though they are right next to each other there is space between. Only a few campers this time of year - Camp Host said the park is VERY busy during the summer months and reservations are a good idea. Popular day use area - lots of picnic areas, swimming, cottages, and access to water from the artesian spring. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

The park is very nice and the camping area is spacious and adequately shaded. The grounds were clean and well-kept. The sites are relatively large and not too close together. As normal there was the one group who didn't think the 10pm quiet time applied to them. Overall, however, it was a good experience and I will go back if the occasion arises. The old roads in the park are not made for long trailers. However, you can force passage as you swing into the left lane to avoid scraping the RV against the stone walls on the right. There is no designated RV parking at the Park Office. You might have to park off the shoulder before the office. There is a space after the office on the left for a long RV. Check in with reservation was quick and easy. Sites I would return to are #38, #42 and #43. They are about 30 something feet deep with parking for two vehicles. There is a fishing dock adjacent to site #43. There is a fishing dock at the dam. Good points are the history of Indian Springs. Location is about 30 minutes off Interstate 75. Jackson GA. with grocery stores is about 8 miles from the park. There is also a good catfish house at High Falls State Park about 8 miles away and is open to 9:00. Fresh Air BBQ is about 6 miles from the park. There is a couple of small shops just outside the park, with limited groceries, and fewer tackle selections. Bad points is the swimming beach and miniature golf are about 1 mile or less from the campgrounds. The only Wi-Fi is at the office. No full hook ups. Bath houses are old and show their age, but they are clean. There are dish water drains around the campground. But black water will have to go to the dump station. We will return to the park in a few months. We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.
