$28 a night Monday-Wednesday. $32 for Thursday-Sunday. We paid 1/2 price with our America the Beautiful ( senior ) pass. Located about 10 miles off I985 and about 30 miles north of Atlanta. Nice, clean, COE park. Roads are paved and easily accessible to any size rig. Sites are laid out in along a number of 'spurs', some are open and some are not. Some are pull thrus, some a back in. Most have a view of the lake and may or may not have easy access to it! Each restroom building contains one washer & dryer - .75 each to use, a nice surprise! The park is dry, and you have to sign on check in that you understand that rule. The reason for my 8 rating is that they lock a gate here at 10:30pm and open it at 7:00am. If you want to return later than that you have to park outside and walk in - this is 'technically' not allowed but had 'never' been a problem. This put a bit of a hitch in a few of our plans! Besides that, it's a wonderful place to stay! We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We had been here before and had jotted down the sites that were open as Satellite TV was important to us. 69, 60, 45, 44, 43,42,41 all met our needs. Next time I would try for #60, it's open and given it's orientation the sun would never beat in the front window!

Stayed four nights at this campground and feel like I have found my favorite place to camp! Beautifully maintained grounds and camping sites along with wonderful views of Lake Sidney Lanier. I found the neighbors were very nice, respectful and tidy as well. Just a wonderful place! We camped at Old Federal COE in a Travel Trailer.

Delightful campground on Lake Lanier. Our site (#5) was in the trees so we didn't have as great a lake view as we would have liked, but it worked out just fine. Internal roads are tight for big rigs, but manageable. Roads and parking pads are paved, and there are concrete patios with picnic tables and a fire ring. Sites are placed with plenty of space and trees between them, so you're not parked right on top of your neighbor. Water and electric (30 & 50 amp) available, but no sewer hook-up, although there is a dump station. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here many times over the years. The park itself is still lovely. The person at the desk was not very pleasant. We arrived on a busy Saturday. I don't know if she was overwhelmed but she was quite rude to everyone that we observed her interacting with. We will still return, of course but hope she is in a better mood. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

Rate was with federal senior's America the Beautiful discount. We reserved an open site so the rooftop dish worked fine, Verizon cell phone and internet hotspot worked fine also. When we arrived one leg of the 50a outlet was bad, the host had an electrician respond within 2 hours to replace the pedestal breaker which resolved the problem, in the mean time we used the 30a outlet. Our site had a very good view of Lake Lanier, site was back-in blacktop with large packed, very fine, sand patio with fire ring and picnic table. All roads are blacktop in excellent shape. Dump station access with 37' fifth wheel tight but OK. The water often was a rusty brown color out of the spigot when turned on but cleared up in few seconds, I think. The park is well kept, staff friendly and a scenic location. There was another site parallel but forward of ours and the RV there had their slide extended slightly over our drive, we had to be careful parking the truck but it didn't block our lake view. I would have given higher rating if water was always clear, they had sewer hook ups and the parallel site wasn't so close to our sites drive. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of my all-time favorite places to sit and enjoy the view--even had a friendly bluebird sit on my windshield wipers and look in last time. As with most Corps of Engineering campgrounds, seniors get a 50% discount on camping fees. I've stayed at another of the Lake Lanier COE campgrounds and like this one better because almost every site is right on the lake, with some more wooded and some more open. I chose a site at the base of a peninsula where I had views of the lake on both sides, which was a bonus. As with all COE parks I have been to, roads and campsites are paved and in very good condition. Site was very large and fairly level with water and electric service. Laundromat was nearby and clean. Verizon service was adequate. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed in Site 58 for 3 nights while visiting friends in the area. The park has beautiful views of the lake and is maintained well. We especially liked the guidelines of no alcohol which kept things peaceful so we could enjoy the nature. We definitely will return. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

We camped here at site 62. Very shaded, with a concrete pad and gravel picnic area and fire ring. Our site was lake-front, but we couldn't access the lake from our site due to a steep ledge. Some other campers on our loop (sites 62-75) had their boats tied up to their sites. There is a nice swimming area and beach very close to our loop and the bath house was about 100 yards away. The bath house was clean, and is your typical state park type of facility. We would camp here again. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Travel Trailer.

This Corps Of Engineer (COE) park is one of the best on Lake Lanier. It is a favorable campground for the large RVs and motor homes because of the availability of 50 amp electric hookups. Also, because the layouts are spacious and nicely surrounded by the lake. Majority of the lops and sites have a very generous view of the lake. Even though it has a designated playground and swim area, there are several camp sites that have easy access to other swim areas. They even provided additional parking space at strategic parks of the campground for campers who arrive with more that one automobile. It is no wonder the campground was full the weekend of May 9th when we camped here, considering that the schools were still in session and the meteorologists had rain on their forecasts much of that weekend. TV and mobile phone reception are at their best here. The camp hosts are very nice folks. They graciously helped me with to contact a mobile RV repair guy when I intimated them that my A/C unit was broken. We will surely return to this campground. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

Very beautiful park. Was in pull through (4) near lake although it is a steep incline to walk to the lake. Restrooms were very clean and staff very friendly. A nice peaceful stay. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical of COE campgrounds. Old Federal is beautiful and laid out in fingers along the lake. Since check out is 3 pm, our "reserved" site was still occupied. We were directed to park at a sports complex several miles away, and we would be called when the site was vacated. We offered to take an alternative if one became available, but were denied. Just before 3pm we were called and proceeded to the gate. That is apparently the time campers can re-up, so the attendant was very busy. We didn't receive a map or any paperwork except the site tag. Our site was so lumpy we needed to park partially on the "patio" in order to become level. Showers were far away, so I didn't even check them. In spite of this, we would return for a short stay again or chose another park on this lovely lake. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three days while visiting the Atlanta area. This park is beautiful and the setting is beautiful. It is right on the shores of Lake Lanier, the way it is laid out most, if not all sites, have lake views. There are no sewer sites but we still had such a wonderful stay. Each site has a patio area with picnic table and fire ring. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Motorhome.

This COE CG has 4 or 5 of the best sites we've ever enjoyed. Some sites are (in our opinion) just dreadful. Full sun, no privacy and far from the lake. Some sites are just excellent due to good shade, fairly private and great lake views. Loop 64-75 offers stunning views of sunset. Water/electric only at all sites. A very busy CG during the summer months. A very nice CG due to sites, location and price. We camped at Old Federal COE in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice (COE) park on Lake Lanier. Very well kept, sites were clean, many with shade and great view of the lake. Slight down side was the water was intermittently rusty. The staff at the fee booth were great and very helpful. Close to shopping in Gainesville. Fee reflects discount for the Senior Park Pass. Will definitely return.
