Great Campground. My wife and I love this campground. The majority of the sites have lake views, are spacious and far enough apart to provide a great deal of privacy. The campground is large, well maintained with a great deal of green space. The retro restrooms were always spotless with plenty of hot water. Reservation and check in is completely online there is minimal interaction with the volunteer staff. The entrance office is not maned. To check-in you simply drive to your site and set up. Your site is tagged before you arrive. The one time I did have problem I found the staff responsive and professional. Unlike most COE campgrounds on lake Sidney Lanier, Bolding Mill is open year around allowing my wife and I to camp in the cooler months. Once in November and once in March. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed five days in site #85. This campground is excellent! Very peaceful and clean. There is a large boat ramp area. No attendant on duty when we arrived however we quickly located a map and found our site. One of the hosts came by quickly and gave us a post tag. They were always friendly and waved. These sites have large crushed stone pads with a fire ring , grill and picnic table. Very Nice!! There is a fishing pier accessed by a trail. The only complaint is that the showers could use some updating although they were always clean. There is also a playground area and a small swimming area that we didn't use. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Got to the park on a Sunday afternoon, no gate attendant anymore at this COE park. Directions were hard to find on how to check in. Camp host came buy approx. 2 hrs after we were set up on site. Park is very nice, paved roads and pads, paved back in site# 1. Very large parking and set up area. Has nice view of lake. We brought the boat so we were able to pull up to campsite bank, Site is in back of nice cove aprx.3" deep water. Saw camp host riding golf carts but never stopped by or spoke after original check in. With no gate attendant this was 4th of July week and had heavy car and truck traffic riding through park poor security plan. You could tell it was confusing as to what to do for check in for many people as they arrived at gate. This campground has 5-6 fulltime camp hosts that live on site not sure why no gate attendant. Cars driving through all hours of night. Park is very close to town with great food and night life. Lake was beautiful, will go back to this site again. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Gainesville is wonderful town with dining and bars. Local brewey called Left Nut Brewing Co. Beautiful Old Mill now a micro brewery. My rig is 41 and our site was great, deep flat and roomy. Corp needs to get a better camp host system, we like being greeted and having someone to talk with. Only way you knew who host were by golf carts in their driveway. Several full timers appear to be living on sites as hosts. Clean nice park, will go back again.

The campground is beautiful and so incredibly peaceful. There is a good distance between campsites. The large "patio" is decomposed granite, which was really nice, there is a fire pit and large picnic table. When we arrived we got some OTA channels, but when the clouds cleared so did our channels. The bathhouse was very clean and in good shape. The camp hosts are wonderful and friendly. They take great pride in the campground, as if it was their own. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Since there was no WiFi, we drove about 10 miles to McDonalds in Gainesville. While my husband used the WiFi, I went shopping at Kohls, which was in the same parking lot, more or less. There are a lot of places to shop.

Overall Rating:

One of our new favorite campgrounds anywhere! We were there on a Thursday night in January and the cg was about 1/4 full. We got a back-in site right on the lake and it was spectacular--sunset over the lake, the hills and trees surrounding the lake, paved site as well as all-paved roads. What more could you ask for? The only reason I didn't rate it a "10" is because you don't have a sewer hookup. We will definitely stay here again if we happen to go back to the Dahlonega area. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Dahlonega is a fascinating place--site of the first major gold rush in America. Miners from this area discovered the gold in Colorado that caused the "Pike's Peak" gold rush 30 years after the one in Georgia.

We have stayed at Bolding Mill a couple of times when visiting family in the Atlanta area. This is one of two COE camping parks that are open during the winter on Lake Lanier. The sites are long and spacious with natural foilage and trees intact between sites to offer privacy. The hosts do a great job in cleaning up the sites after check-outs and keeping the facilities clean. We camped during spring break and the campground was full. A coin operated washer and dryer is available at one of the two bath houses in the campground. A very large parking area and boat launch is located at the entrance. We always enjoy our stay. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a 50' back-in site on the lake. Very clean, level and spacious, fire pit, grill mounted on a post, light hook. 20/30/50-amp power, water, no cable, no Wi-Fi. Dump station has two sewer connections, very spacious, can accommodate two vehicles with easy in, easy out. My only negative comment is the comfort station by the lake has no hand towels or dispenser in the restrooms. My wife said there was not one in the ladies room. At least install a towel dispenser or electric hand dryer, also need some type of ventilation, very hot and sticky in the restrooms. Also this comment applies to the restroom at the picnic area. Would have given a 10 if had sewers. Beautiful and well kept with very spacious sites with great views of the lake. Some back in sites had fairly long driveways backing to level concrete pads. All roads are blacktop and trees throughout the park are trimmed well but a few turns are a bit tight and need to be watched. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

One of best maintained campgrounds we camp at; run by volunteers. Volunteers are very friendly and helpful. Only park on Lake Lanier with concrete swimming area- no red mud. Most of campsites are very good. Bathrooms are cleaned twice daily. Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surface is a concrete pad, featuring a fire ring and picnic table. We had a beautiful, pine wooded, spacious site overlooking Lake Lanier. Elec & water only. Excellent cell coverage. Stayed 14 days, would have been longer if allowed! Would give 5 stars if it had full hookups. Tricky back in site, down hill, but site itself was level. And our side patio door opened out to the lake view! Shop before going in, its a long drive to groceries. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a quiet park and all the sites are within a few feet of Lake Lanier. Most of the sites are extra long and level with plenty of room between neighbors. The 2 bath houses were kept clean, although the showers were not great. One laundry facility was closed off exclusively for the camp host's use, which meant one remaining washer/dryer for the entire campground. The small playground is a swing and see-saw. Lakeside COE park. Turn around for some sites (site 7 is one of them) was too tight for my 5th wheel, so I had to back it up and go to a different site. Plenty of open sites available. 50 amp power and good water. No sewer. OTA tv reception was spotty. It was pretty cold some nights, but that is Georgia in the winter. Staff was very friendly. When departing with a long coach, ask if you can exit thru the entrance gate. It is easier on tires than the exit driveway. Maybe someday the COE will reduce the bend in the exit road from the gatehouse to the main drive. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

My family and I found this beautiful park open for the fall and winter. We are fall campers and enjoy it very much. The Bolding Mill campground was like finding that special hideaway that everyone wishes they had. This campground we found out is maintained by volunteers and what a wonderful job they do. The campground is so nicely laid out, the sites are huge and most importantly the campground and bathrooms are very clean. When we first arrived our first time it was late in the evening and very dark. We called the campground just before arriving and talked with the campground host and asked if they could help us locate our site. The host had her husband meet us as we came into the park and he escorted us with his golf cart right into our site. My husband said that if it was not for them he might not have been able to get in because it was so dark. We have never been treated so nicely before from people at an RV park. This review is long over due, as we have now visited the park at least 3 times and have reservations for late November. The volunteers threw a Halloween outing for all the kids on Halloween night. This is a 5 star campground that my husband and I will be coming back to many times to come. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.
