We were in spot #83 (or was it 86?). Nice, level spot on asphalt. Plenty long enough for our 34ft MH and our tow car, 2015 Pathfinder. Lots of room between us and out neighbors. 50A service and water, no sewer but a dump station is onsite. There is a beach at the park and plenty of shopping nearby. We have family nearby in Buford, and we will definitely stay at this park again. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Duckett Mill is a nice quiet campground off the beating path, but close to Gainesville amenities. Our site #3 was a concrete pad and only slightly off level right to left. The site itself was spacious with what appeared to be a new fire ring and picnic table. The lake was about 30-40 feet away down a gradual bank. Most of the sites appeared to have much steeper banks down to the lake. There is plenty of room to fish from the bank on this site. The only complaint is the playground needs some updating, and the dump station which is right next to the playground was awkward to get in and out of without backtracking in the park. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Site is a great lake front view. One of the grounds and bath house keepers was very diligent in completing her job and doing it well. The men cutting the grass need to be assigned other duties. There is only small patches of grass. They seemed to ride the mower more than actually work. They need to cut the grass with a weed eater. The attendants at check in/out were always pleasant. Over all for the value it was a great place to camp. It is a kid friendly campground. We highly recommend the campground. We enjoyed boat riding on the lake. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cheddars in Gainesville was the best for service and the food was good. Outback was okay. Stevie D's pizza and the Hibachi Buffett both are in the same strip section and both were horrible.

Helen is only about an hour away. Also for the kids, Baby Land is about 45 minutes away.

Camping World is only about 8 miles away if you need camper supplies for repair/replacement parts.

We stayed here for a coupe nights on a whim, and then came back the following week for another 5 nights. As others have said, the park is greatly underused, and I don't know why! It's BEAUTIFUL, quiet and very well laid out. I will warn that some of the sites are REALLY steep to get in and out of....may want to call ahead and check yours.

There's a lot of traffic on the lake on the weekends, but that makes for nice wave crashing sounds on the shoreline. So very relaxing!

The one thing that they could improve is the bathrooms. They're pretty outdated and don't have any paper towels or hand driers which is odd.

There are plenty of restaurants, stores etc....nearby. And even a movie theater if you have a rainy day. TV signal was in and out but cell service was strong (T-mobile and AT&T).

There's a GREAT laundromat in Gainesville called "Wash yer duds" and we highly recommend that if you need laundry facilities outside the ONE washer and drier onsite.

All in all, this is now one of our favorite parks and we can't wait to go back! It's too bad they close in September.... The fall colors are probably SPECTACULAR there! We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is a favorite! Sites are spread out and clean. Almost everyone has a view of the lake. Aside from boat engine noise, you get plenty of peace and quiet. Sites are level but a few have pretty steep entrance/exits. We stayed at site #43 which is a beautiful site but our travel trailer bumper scraped when exiting. We also stayed in site 43 which gives you a beautiful lake view if you have a large rear window. Both had a short trail to the lake to do some fishing from the bank. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The closest grocery store is about 8 miles into Gainesville. There are plenty of restaurants and other stores there as well. This campground does not sell firewood but you can find it at gas stations headed into Gainesville.

This campground is becoming our favorite. We had site 48 and even though it says it is only 30', it is much longer and accommodated our 39' fifth wheel with no problem. Sites are very large and shaded. We have had a nice breeze every time we have been so it must be something about the it's location. This park is greatly underused so it must just be a well kept secret. Love this place. Bathhouses are kind of far apart and only used one once and are fairly old but OK. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is clean and under utilized. I wish the COE parks were open year around. The fall is the best time of year. We had a great shaded spot and absolutely no traffic! The hose making rounds was the only vehicle we saw. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Motorhome.

Nicest campground yet. Like all COE campgrounds, this one is very well maintained with large, well spaced sites. This CG has a great beach area on the lake. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is wonderful. The pads are paved and fairly level. The lake views are nice and many of them have trails to the water which make it nice to pull the boat up on shore. The sites are shady and have plenty of room for canopies and chairs. The overall campground was very clean and well kept. We have stayed here several times and never had a bad experience. My family absolutely loves this campground! We camp here about 3 weekends out of each month during the summer. The restrooms are much cleaner than I had expected, the sites are always prepped very well and the pads are pretty much level. We love the fact that the grills are emptied and the pad is blown clean after each guest. Dump station is easily accessible and well kept too. Our only complaint is that the park has such a short season! We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Travel Trailer.

We really enjoyed the couple who ran Duckett Mill-Grace and Clarence. They were so hospitable. Even came with their son to help us get our new TV up and running with the antenna. We were in Site 81 which was huge and right next to a jetty where we watched beautiful sunrises. It's in perfect proximity to many great places (Helen, Dahlonega, several state parks) and Gainesville is only 7 miles away, too. The only drawback was no sewer connection, but for the money, it's the best deal around. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Motorhome.

Nice COE park. Restroom problems have been corrected. Many waterfront sites with water access. Our neighbors on both sides had boats pulled up on their shoreline. Areas between sites have been left rustic. Lots of privacy, trees and shade. Great cell phone reception, but only picked up four TV stations. Very friendly camp hosts and workers. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Travel Trailer.

Great COE park that had plenty of shade. We had a nice back-in site that was on the lake, fishing out the back door. Very helpful staff and nice quiet spot. Only down side was the lack of sewer, but certainly not a reason to miss this great deal. Close to shopping, Would stay again. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is showing some wear. Missing shower heads, no bench and no hooks. Forced to put clothes on the floor. The COE usually runs a tighter ship than this. Staff was very helpful. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice and well taken care of COE campground. The hosts are very helpful. Beautiful lake front sites. Bath house was close and clean. My satellite dish looked out real good, but I did not do well with antenna. We camped at Duckett Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.
