We have been RVing in many states, but this campground is one of our top 3 favorites. The people are extremely nice that run the campground and it is beautiful. Many sites have a view of Lake Chatuge with beautiful mountains surrounding it . We are from Florida but each year we manage to stay there. Most of the sites are large and easy to get into . Cable TV and great WiFi and very convenient to great sightseeing. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Be sure and drive to Blairsville and have coffee at "cabin Coffee". Great coffee and nice folks. Anna Ruby Falls is fantastic and shouldn't be missed.

Very scary backing in but it was my first time. Very narrow road. The cable was a male connection and we didn't have a connector so no tv and trees blocked satellite. Water was on wrong side so we chose not to use and would have needed a second hose which we did have. It was last minute reservations so we were happy to get it and I think they are the only campsites close to fairgrounds. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in site A-26 which is at top of the hill, incline on inside part of A loop, during our Airstream Club Region 3 Rally. If looking at the map the first entrance to A loop is a nice gradual incline to top of hill and the a-26 area, coming from other direction the hill is a bit more steep but better way to get backed into a-26 site. The Park is located on shores of large lake in smaller southern town with lots of activities around the area. Sites are all different sizes but for the most part large enough and with good spacing between sites. Lots of trees so shade is not a problem at most sites. There are some sites in both sections that are right on the water with beautiful views for sure.. :) Bath house was older but clean and with two showers in men's area. The showers were cozy as were the dressing areas in front of them. GOOD hot water and nice strong shower spray make for a nice hot shower for sure. The RV sites are is just off the Anderson Music Hall which was hosting Trace Atkins on the Friday we were there. Seem this place gets a lot of top acts coming through during the year.. if you like country music you got to check this place out.. The music hall is smaller venue but seem like a nice place to see a good act and they have been around for over 30 yrs. There is a nice boat ramp and fishing pier as well so bring the kayaks and have some fun. The town has good supplies and the cost of stuff is not resort like more down to earth which was nice. We came in from Asheville area and there are a couple of good pulls on hwy 64 so be prepared to sit back and let it run. :) You can head over to Murphy and to see more mtn stuff which is a short 30 ish min drive. All in all a nice place to visit and hope to return one day soon. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is a great mix between mountains and lake. Nearby small towns are fantastic. They have plenty of room for disconnecting the toad. A million events throughout the year. Our site was on the water and it was one of the prettiest views we have had from a campground ever. Power, water, and sewer all were uneventful. We really enjoyed ourselves and have already booked another get away here. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here many times. Older county run campground that need to overhauled. Good location, on the lake. They have a concert hall that has great concerts. Nice to walk to. Beautiful gardens. The bathrooms are so run down. Falling apart. Most of the site are full hook up. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed this time at the 'second' section of campsites, across the road from the main fairgrounds park. While there is no sewer for each site, the waterside/lakeside option is wonderful as you within feet of the water, and each site has access to 20/30/50 amp service, water, 60+ Cable channels, and nice Wifi that works well.

The park is a little difficult to manuver with longer vehicles, and the sites can be a little hard to back into, but it's worth the effort. Some sites are short, others are very deep. Some sites are very narrow, with drop offs to the water, while others are wide and expansive. Most of the sites have plenty of shade, for most of the day, but this could also make for difficult satellite reception, if required, unless you are on the SW facing shorelines.

This time of year there are few campers and few nearby, but I can imagine that in the summer months, and during the fairground events in the fall, that it could get noisy, with many campers a little too close for comfort. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

There are two sections to this campground. The "Fair side" has full hook ups the other side across does not have sewer. We stayed on the Fair side. We have stayed here many times and enjoy our stay. This place could use some capital improvements like new pavement. It is a beautiful location and a good value. Some sites can be difficult to get into and are narrow. Most have adequate space between sites. This is a beautiful location and if this was spruced up a bit I would give it a higher score. Still the "Fair" side is a good value and we'll stay here again. The other side is not a place we could fit so we wouldn't consider it. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was on the Fairgrounds side and had full hook-ups with cable TV. When stopping to register, turn left into the lower level next to the office. The upper road is passable with a covered entry that has a 14' clearance. The sites are fairly narrow, but mostly level with pavement. Many of the sites have broken pavement, especially on the edges. The bathrooms are dated, but clean and serviceable. Nice view of the lake from our site. Lots of trees with plenty of shade. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great scenic drives around the lake and nearby mountains. Take a trip over to the dam area. You can walk the entire top of the dam from one side to the other. The North Georgia Wine trail is a great way to spend an afternoon with three or four vineyards close by.

We were in area #1, on the other side of the highway, water & electric only area. Obviously an old campground, before slideouts and big trailers. Bring plenty of leveling boards. They will likely be needed. Watched a neighbour struggle for a half hour trying to get a small trailer level using those leveling bricks. Access roads are very narrow. Parking sites are very narrow. It has been many years since they were serviced at all. The dump station is on a slope making proper drainage impossible. On the plus side the Wi-Fi worked well, most sites are well separated, and compared to surrounding CGs a good value for money. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Good campground and the staff is friendly. Loop A is the best for separation of campsites, however no fires are allowed in this loop. Restrooms are clean and maintained. Did not understand the boat ramp, they need a floating platform to tie up to when launching. Excellent walking around the roads, keep I'm mind these roads have hills. Hiawassee is a fun place to visit and you will not find a lot of brand restaurants, mostly local flavor. We stayed four days and will mark this campground for a return visit. The campground is run by the county and is better maintained than most Georgia State Parks. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Tent Trailer.

I was very pleased with our return visit to the Georgia Mountain Fair Campgrounds. We had previously stayed in Area 1 on the south side of highway 76, however this time we stayed in area 2 which was more accommodating to travel trailers. We stayed on a nice campsite on the hillside overlooking the lake. Most campsites have a great view or limited view of the lake. We were in the A section of area 2, which is hilly, but more space between campsites. Sections B,C,D,E and F are more level, but are closer together. The WiFi and cable both were great! Even with the Georgia Mountain Fair going on the campground still seemed calm and safe. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice campground with sites on the lake and higher up on a small mountain over looking the lake. The sites on the mountain are wooded and farther apart. The sites on the lake are closer, but not too close. We had a good time, but this campground can become noisy if some campers are there for concerts and drinking/partying. The location is good and you can get to grocery stores and restaurants easily. We camped at Georgia Mountain Fair Campground in a Motorhome.
