Country Oaks is a small, family-run campground right off of I-95. Road noise is very faint. Site sizes run the entire spectrum from very small to roomy; two rigs came in after us and left after surveying their sites. Almost all have at least partial shade. Interior roads are paved and require the driver's full attention as you pass through the campground. There is no pool, game room or other amenities but the setting is beautiful and remarkably quiet given your proximity to I-95. Campground staff very personable. Grounds are very clean as are bath & laundry facilities. Buildings are well-maintained. Campground store has very little in the way of groceries or supplies but there are plenty of retail establishments in the area. WiFi worked flawlessly. There is a large percentage of permanent campers here with a section of sites for transients. We would stay here again. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a potential alternative to the heavily-used Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach, FL (about a half hour's driver from here). Fort Clinch itself is worth visiting, as is the historic district of Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island. Jekyll Island/Brunswick is about a half hour's drive to the north. Many eating establishments and antique shops throughout the area, as well as modern retail shops.

Heavily treed campground close to I-95 exit at Georgia/ Florida border. No pool or cable TV. Tight turns on campground roads but doable. Many long term residents but several pull-throughs for transients. Sand & gravel sites are close together with no privacy but was fine for an overnight stop. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our second overnight at Country Oaks, and we were equally pleased. We were able to get a pull-through with full hook-ups on relatively short notice, as severe storms were headed up from Florida. The staff is very helpful and competent, and the grounds are well-maintained. Dog walking is pleasant because there's a lake on the property, and there are horses nearby. Like many Good Sam parks, there was a fairly sizable semi-permanent population, but it was not the least bit off-putting. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The woman who registered us guided us to our spot and provided the names of all the local restaurants (both chain and individual) plus clear directions to get there. We chose Longhorn Steakhouse. The woman's husband had driven an RV to Alaska and gave us useful tips about that. We appreciated these folks very much.

Our second visit to this park. It's rustic but somewhat nice. Many long-term residents. It is somewhat close to the interstate but minimal highway noise. The sites are close together but there is room for slides. The ladies' room door would not close tight easily, the shower drains are trough-like. Lighting at night is minimal. No cable but if you are a subscriber to their satellite company, you can hook up to it in some sites. All that said, it is a nice park. Staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations are a must as there are only a few sites for overnights. May return. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

St. Mary's is a short drive away with its harbor and historic district. The campground is only a short drive from Florida with it's Visitors Center. If you drive on to the first exit and cross over, you will come to the Florida Citrus Center and gift shop where you can buy some of that great Indian River fruit and some early souvenirs. Then, hop back onto the Interstate and head back to the campground.

We stayed here as an overnight stop enroute to New York. Directions and signage were adequate. Interior roads were paved and sites were level and composed of dirt and grass. There is no swimming pool or cable TV. It is easy access to I-95 at exit 1 in Georgia. The office staff was courteous and polite. The campground was clean and well kept. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park with a lot of perms and long-term residents. The road are quite narrow and tree-lined, so we had to be very careful in piloting our 37-foot RV plus tow around the loop to get to our site.

The site seems to be a mix of gravel, sand, and grass. It was level enough that we didn't need to lower our jacks to level.

Electric power was good, but their hand-out sheet asks guests to turn off AC when not in our units. On 90 degree plus days, that would make it nearly impossible to cool our unit down to a livable temperature.

There is no cable TV. I noticed a lot of permanent satellite dishes around the park but we given no info on how to use them or even if we COULD use them.

The WIFI was very good---after I hooked up my booster. Before that, not so much.

The price seems a bit high considering there is nothing to do here. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Our first stay. It's rustic with a western flair. Close to the Interstate but not a lot of highway noise. As it was just an overnight stay, I can't comment on area recreation, restaurants or campground amenities. Would return. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Old campground with all grass and dirt sites.Niceat office personnel. . Sites were kept up.Seem to have a lot of permanent people.Nothing really to do at campground. No pool or lake for swimming. You can fish in a pond. No playground equipment for kids. They ask you to turn your A/C off when you leave your camper. In August in Georgia when it is 94 degrees off they want you to turn off A/C.
Lots of ants around. Would only come back if for overnight stay and no other choice. Nice people but no place for kids . We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The park staff who check us in was friendly. We were unable to get satellite signal due to the trees. The over the air stations were limited and had significant interference on some of the channels. A decent stop for a night or two, but for a very basic park, the price was a bit high. Space was reasonably level and large. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out Fort Clinch on Amelia Island. St Mary's Seafood and More was good for dinner. Lulu's in Fernandina Beach was great for lunch. Sites 5 or 6 would be best for satellite signal.

This is a small family owned park and the staff is very friendly. The sites are very shaded and good sized. We stayed here a week and would stay again if in the area. It is about 1/2 mile from I-95 and at times (usually early morning) the noise level is high. Most of the time it is ok and we didn't notice it. All utilities worked well, and the WIFI was really good. There are some permanent residents but sites are well-kept. It is a great location for exploring the Kingsland/St. Marys/Kings Bay area. It is only about 20 minutes north of Jacksonville FL so easy to hit that area too. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed our two night stay. We have a 40ft DP and we were towing a full size trailer. Our site was large. We have 4 slides and had no problem opening and had space to spare. Our in-motion roof top satellite worked well in our spot.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The campground is charming and clean. The area is safe. The best part of this campground is it was blissfully quiet. We were able to sleep until noon which never happens for us.

The only negative is the roads are tight. Our setup is long so it was a challenge to get around. Not a deal breaker but something worth mentioning. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice gravel sites, not too close to each other. Shady area, facilities and grounds are clean and neat. Very friendly staff. Neat country motif office bldg. Lot of old farm equipment around. Fuel and food nearby. Good for one night or several while visiting nearby attractions. 50/30 amp, water, sewer at site. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Friendly neighborhood and very friendly staff. The park is well maintained. Maneuvering on the asphalt roads is a challenge for 45' but doable and tree trimming would help. Owners live on site and escort you to sites. Sites are plenty long, gravel and level. Wi-Fi service was great, as was voltage, water pressure, and sewer location. Easy getting to and from I95. A country setting only minutes from most necessities. Plenty of shade which makes the non-parking areas pretty bare, but worth the tradeoff. Directv link worked fine at Site 5. We will add this park to our return list. I rate campgrounds not on a wishlist of services, facilities and luxuries, but on how well they maintain existing services and facilities.
