A field and forest county park located on an impounded lake in a quasi-suburban residential area. One of the most difficult parks I have rated. Others have mentioned the issue with the odd in-ground potable water spigots. Odd is an understatement. The spigots used are made for Florida, not freezing climates. The arrangement is not built to any type of modern plumbing code. The connects are simply unsafe and not sanitary. We had to change sites because the spigot hole was 6" deep in muddy water. Other underground boxes are broken, full of rotting leaves, and mud up to the level of the connect. With no backflow preventers, the park is taking an unnecessary risk of public water system contamination. Yard hydrants would be the appropriate type of fixture. Waterfront sites have wet, grassed clay soils. Non-waterfront are drier, nicer in my opinion. Some sites are level, some are not. Pull-throughs are the best sites. A mix of shade and sun, mostly sun. Quiet on our weekday stay. Sprint phone 3 bar LTE. Excellent DTV OTA with 17 stations and all networks received. Electric strong. Some circuit panel covers missing. Bathrooms, laundry area clean. String trimming needed around hundreds of edges. Lots of hiking trails, playground, boat launches, group picnic shelters. Good bird watching. The "beach" was not very inviting. Some air traffic noise from Atlanta. We would come here again IF they installed safe water connects. You'd never dream of having outdoor plumbing spigots like this at your own house. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Travel Trailer.

First let me say that I went there based on the RV Park review showing this to be a "Big Rig" park which it is not. The roads are hilly, windy and 10' wide. The sites are not long enough for a motorhome and the pads/gravel is only 8'wide. But what this park is good for is family camping with a med sized 5th wheel , travel trailer or tents. The park is on a very nice lake with a boat launch. Swimming and good fishing. We didn't fit in at all in our 40' rig but everyone there was haveing a great time. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground, most of the spaces are large and level. Our only complaint was that the grass needed to be cut and around the picnic table area could use some trimming. We were on the inside but could still see the lake. The fishing dock is great, it was a short walk from our site. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground. Since we are not self-contained, showers and bathrooms are an important criteria. These showers were very nice, hot water, good pressure, clean. Just no bench or hooks to put your things on while showering. The sites were all bunched together and we had noisy neighbors. The water connection was in a box in the ground, making it interesting to hook up. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Tent Trailer.

We really enjoyed staying here. The park is pretty open but there are enough mature trees to give some shade. Our space was paved with asphalt but had some lean that needed to be corrected. We stayed for 3 weeks and received a bit of a discount for the longer stay. During our stay in early November, the park was pretty empty through the week but would be quite full on the weekends. Although others had complained about the noise on the weekend, we didn't have any issues with noise. The park is only about 15 - 20 minutes from downtown Macon, GA. Highway US-80 is only about 1/2 mile away and the I-475 bypass is only about 3 miles away. We really enjoyed visiting the Ocmulgee Mounds National Monument. The bathroom near our site had nice looking granite in the shower spaces but the whole bathroom seemed a little rundown. There was only 1 stool and 2 urinals in the men's bathroom. There are washers and dryers but they looked so old and rundown that we chose to go into town to do laundry. I work from home and I use a Verizon mobile hotspot. There was very good Internet service from this campground. There are some sweetgum trees in the park so you might need to watch where your dogs are walking so they don't get the prickles in their paws. The sandy beach looks really nice but it was a little too chilly for us to go swimming. There is a lot of fishing on the lake. The boat ramp was just across from the swimming area. The playground area looks really nice but we don't have kids. There are also mountain bike trails available but we did not use those. We like to recycle; Macon has a residential, curb-side pickup program. The park does not have a recycling facility (yet) although we did ask the ranger if they would make arrangements in the future. We found that 3 of the fire department houses in downtown had recycling containers available. At the time of writing, the Macon recycling program does not accept glass. All other clean materials with the recycle symbol were accepted. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We would recommend site 16. It has a beautiful view over the lake. It's a pull through site that looks pretty level. This site is also one of the sites with sewer hookup. It is the first site on that loop and there is only 1 camping site adjacent which gives this site more of a "front yard".

We stayed overnight here in a 22 foot RoadTrek Class B. We also had a Town and Country van along. The macerator hose tore the night before so we needed to park near the bath house.

The water connection was located in a covered compartment in the ground. We use a small water pressure regulator so we had no trouble hooking up the water hose but large regulators might be a problem.

The park was quiet and well-maintained but quite a distance from the Interstate. It would be perfect for a long weekend or a week's vacation. Nice lake, bring your kayak or canoe. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Motorhome.

We did a one night, stop-over. This is a beautiful campground, located on Columbus Road off US-80 near Lizella, Georgia, part of the Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area. Sites are FHU/30/50, asphalt roads, concrete pads. Restrooms were modern and clean but warning, the shower water was hot with a touch of hot. Neither the wife nor I could get cold water, making a shower an interesting event. Roads were a bit narrow - probably a challenge for big coaches, but I managed with a 40' fiver. Gas/diesel is about 1 mile away on US-80, West. No pool or spa. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a county park located 4 or 5 miles west of I-475 and about a mile north of highway 80. Access from I-475 is very easy. The park web site does not provide much park information but we quickly discovered that phone reservations can be easily made and are recommended. There was no fee to make the reservation and no payment was requested until we checked in. The park is completely paved and each site has a concrete pad to park your RV on as well as having an adjacent pad with picnic table. Though the roads within the park are paved, in places they are very narrow, but we had no issues navigating these roads with our 40 ft Class A Motorhome with our toad attached. Grass is well maintained. Great views of the lake from just about all camp sites. Be aware that the water supply is below grade in a small hand hole. The hand hole was filled with water at our neighbor's site. We suggest that you carefully inspect the hand hole before reaching in as this is the South. There is no wi-fi or park cable, but there are many local off-the-air TV channels available, and most sites are quite open offering easy satellite access. Verizon and AT&T both had strong signals for voice and data. We would stay here again when passing through. Even though this park is a few minutes drive off the Interstate it is very nice and worth the short drive. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Motorhome.

We camped here to attend Mercer University Bear's football game. The campground is uniquely setup because the area used for the campsites is not that large compared to the number of sites fitted into it. It's really properly set up. Like the prior reviews, the campground is well maintained and the bathrooms are very clean. With regards to the issue of lack of trees, I observed that the middle of the campground is the portion that does not have any tall or matured trees. On the flip side though, this is the portion of the campground that has several pull through lots. These pull through sites are very generous in their lengths. Also, I did not observe any tree stomps or dying trees to really suggest that the 2008 Mother's Day tornado brought down several trees. Two important things to notes are the fact that the retainer wall along the lake front sites are even with the ground. They are not elevated, so parents of toddlers must be careful since one can easily walk right into the lake. Also, the men's toilet has just one commode against four showers. We camped on site #39 right on the lake that my wife lamented the fact that we were spending only two nights and much of our time was spent at Mercer University. We really fell in love with this campground and will surely return soon. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Stopped here one night on a road trip. Very nice county park on pretty lake. Several nice back-in sites along the water. Retaining wall along the water by the waterfront sites, which I thought was a great idea--grass was mowed up to the retaining wall, which would be good if fishing. Boat launch and dock and another across a small inlet from the park. We chose a pull-through site (#7) with sewer hookup, which was only an additional $3. This site was long in length; space between trailers not as much as a state park but still okay. Great interior roads. Can't comment on restroom facilities just because did not use them. Verizon card worked good for Internet access and no problem with phone. As a previous reviewer stated, there are limited trees due to the 2008 tornado but still a pretty park that is well maintained. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A great county park. Asphalt/concrete pads are narrow but sites are spread out nice. About 8 mile off I-75 but you are located on a nice lake. Pull throughs and lake front backins available. Restrooms and laundry are very nice. Quiet and dark, but in late March we had the park to ourselves and 5-6 campers. For summer there is a beach, but late March was mainly fishermen and a few snowbirds. A nice rural area with open sites and a few small trees. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Motorhome.

The Tobesofkee Recreation Area, a county run park, has three public parks namely Claystone, Sandy Beach and Arrowhead Park. Claystone is on the North side of the lake and is reviewed in another listing. Arrowhead is on the South side of the lake. It is a beautiful, quiet very well maintained campground with paved roads and sites, clear lake view from all sites, very modern bath houses with stainless steel fixtures and faux marble walls. The park includes a boat ramp, beach and hiking/biking trails. I've marked it as not having shade because a tornado in 2008 took out many of the trees in the campground. It's all been cleaned up, but the remaining trees are small. But the campground is still quite nice. We camped at Lake Tobesofkey Arrowhead Campground in a Travel Trailer.
