At MM 24 on Rt 1/Rt 17 just south of Wrens. It is a grass field 100 feet off the highway. Really just an overnight stop. Road noise inside and outside the coach. All sites appear to be FHU. 50 amp service on both sides of the telephone pole but the rest are 30 amp. Water tasted of iron. My dogs didn't like it and the cat refused to drink it. Good thing I had plenty of bottled water. Very easy in and out and all sites are pull thru. Just pull into a site and get setup. The owner will eventually arrive to collect the $20. Sites are not too far apart, but I doubt you will find many RVs parked in there at any one time. If you just need an overnight, it is o.k. for that. I will test out the other 2 places in Wrens (Boss's and Usry) before deciding which to use as my go to Wrens overnight when travelling to NE Ga. - TH travelers

The park is in a field and was a bit crowded when we were there. Checking in was easy and the staff was friendly. We were in a pull-through lot that was level. I enjoy using a 120 amp plug, which was not on the power box on my lot. Entry into the park is open and not far from the town of Wrens. I enjoyed my stay here, but I was staying for two nights. No real areas to walk dogs but a road and field nearby did give me a walking area. Nice stop-over park for me. No cable but several over the air stations. Wi-Fi was great. - HMathis58

50 amp, FHU pull-through site. Stopped here for a short overnight on our way to NC. Owner very friendly and accommodating directing us to our site. WIFI very good. 18 OTA TV signals from Augusta. - Bob & Stephanie

This is a funky little park that was probably built back in the 70's. There new owners are very helpful and the facilities were very clean. The wifi was excellent. Sites are grass and need minimum leveling. We were on the way to NC and this park was just off the country road. Just an overnight stop for us. - Hey You

This is very clean and quiet park. The owners are 'Georgia' friendly. The entire park is located around oak trees which provide a lot of shade on these hot Ga nights. We will stay here again. - khaydon

Off the beaten path Georgia State Park near Sandersville, Ga. Most of the 30 sites are on the water. 1-4 are very rustic. The park is clean with one bathhouse centrally located in the middle of the park. There is a new playground set and refreshed common area. The State does a nice job keeping the park clean and managed. The sites are large and most have walk up access to the water's edge. Sites 20 and 21 are perfect for kayakers. Don't count on Verizion or AT&T service. TV reception is poor if at all. Radio reception is fair. The camp host was very friendly and stopped by the evening we rolled in to introduce himself and give us some fast information on the campground. The fish are biting. The lake was way down when we were there exposing numerous tree stumps. When the lake is up it's gorgeous. The Grist Mill is an interesting tour. The staff in the camp store and check in office were very professional and friendly. The night sky is spectacular. The Ranger asks that you minimize your camp lights after dark to preserve the darkness for the wildlife. Never saw an alligator. We will return just to take advantage of the "off the grid" time Hamburg gives you. - shaw988

We stayed here for 4 nights and can't wait to go back, we were in a 30 ft 5th wheel, we had plenty of room and an awesome view of the lake. We had our 2 puppies with us and they had plenty of room to roam as well. Grounds were clean, as well as the restrooms and showers, they also were lite very good for night time visits, between the 2 restrooms/ showers there is a laundry mat with a washer and dryer if you need one. Didn't see a hostess but did see park worker that was very nice and helpful. Went to park office same friendly and helpful service there as well. Toured the grits mill / museum on Saturday and the guy showing us around was very informative about the process of grinding the grits and corn meal there on site...good fishing as well...lake was clean and kept up well around the outsides. It is well shaded thru out so tv reception is really not there and basic cell phones has no reception either...but you are on vacation right. We did go out park about 2 miles and got reception ...would still go back anytime... - Rivey

This is a nice little campground, there are only 30 campsites but most looked somewhat level. All but a couple are right at the lake, the park is well maintained and camp host were very nice and helpful. We will stay here again, it was a quiet and peaceful weekend. - thejones357
