Tips for other Campers:

2nd time we've stayed here. Close to Atlanta & all the sights. Be sure to call ahead because it's a very popular campground. Only able to stay 1 night this trip altho' the staff tried very hard to try to move things around so we could stay long...really appreciated the effort. Great campground and good prices.

This was a one night stop for us heading south to Florida. It offers easy access from I-75. The road into the park is easy to navigate. The roads in the park are narrow, sites are very close together, yet we had no issues navigating our 36 foot Motorhome with car in tow. Check in was fast and friendly with an escort to our site. Our site A7 was a pull through, hard packed gravel, level, utilities conveniently located. We would stay here again. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Personally, I wouldn’t call Atlanta South either a Resort or a Campground. It is a crowded RV Park.

The Good/Excellent:

1. Staff is very friendly & hospitable and quick to address concerns

2. Amazingly quiet to be so crowded & so close to the freeway

3. Sites are clean & free of litter

4. Very convenient to airport area, and not a bad drive to see a baseball game

5. Easy access to/from I-75

6. The dog-walk area is natural grass. It is clean and well-maintained. Bags & a trash receptacle are provided in the dog-walk area

The Not-So-Great:

1. Sites are very narrow, with only enough width for the trailer and a picnic table + walking space between. The utility hookups were within inches of our neighbors picnic table & front door of his RV!

2. Though some sites had grass fringes (and that grass was very nicely maintained), our site was 100% uneven gravel. Leveling the RV was a challenge, as I had a hard time finding a spot level enough to put the blocks!

3. An eye to maintaining the sites between guests would be beneficial. The water hookup on our site was missing the handle to turn it on; we used pliers. We had no fire ring, though we didn’t need one & not sure I’d want to start a fire so near our rig

4. The WiFi password we received was not correct/did not work

We were in Atlanta for an event, so we just wanted a place to park, cook, and sleep. Atlanta South was fine for our needs, and we would stay again if we had those same needs in the future, or for a single night passing thru. We were not actually here very many hours in a day. Most of the rigs are long-term residents, working in the area. But Atlanta South, while adequate, is not a relaxing spot to enjoy nature, or vacation destination IMHO. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 3 nights - they advertise about having 140 sites, would be a lot nicer park if they would have limited it 100 sights. Lots at really tight and difficult to maneuver about, narrow roads. Considering it's hilly country most lots appear to be fairly level. Camp host and workers are really great people. No cable and several trees about I questioned satellite use, we are in A6, our satellite works great, back of our RV is just off the road. We would stay here again. We've stayed here before. Didn't like it then. I wouldn't ever stay more than one night. It's extremely crowded and cramped. Pull-throughs are easy. Since it's on a hill, each site is higher that the next. Therefore they have a concrete retaining wall of about 1' between. Be careful, as you can easily fall. Utilities are good and easy. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a large park with easy access off of I-75 so there is some road noise. The roads into the park as well as inside the park are easy to navigate. They have around 150 sites as well as cabins. There is a pool and a fishing pond. Check in was fast and friendly. We were in Site A3, a gravel pull through that was plenty long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. It was very narrow and no picnic table. WiFi was spotty and our Verizon signal was strong. We stayed January 10, 2017 and paid $36.00 a night with our Good Sam discount. Overall Rating:

We didn't like this park at all. It is so incredibly tight and uncomfortable. The topography of the park is a gradual uphill and therefore each site is a step up from each other and they chose to make that step up using concrete curbs. So, each site is about 10 to 12 feet wide and on each side of it is a concrete curb with a drop off as much at 2 feet. The grass yard beyond the curb is at a downhill slant not suitable for picnic table or chairs and even if the decline wasn't severe, the width is only about 3 feet. The sites are so short that our 40' 5th wheel filled it up and we had to park perpendicular to the RV with part of our dually fender in the road - as did everyone else. The roads are already very skinny, but with the trucks parked as they had to be it was very uncomfortable. We were really worried about getting out because of the curbs, trucks and the RV across from us. We made it okay only because when we were leaving 2 trucks were gone which left just enough room for my husband to go back and forth with the RV so he could swing wide....We will not be back. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Unlike other reviews, I enjoyed my time at this park. I found the personnel extremely helpful and friendly and the park was clean. My site was very long & level with utilities placed properly. Some shade but it did not interfere with my satellite reception. There are many workers staying in the park; however, they are neat and it is extremely quiet. I would definitely return as the proximity to Atlanta is excellent. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites are extremely close. I-75 traffic was loud and nonstop. We were there for business and stayed for 2 weeks due to close proximity of location. The sites are within 10 foot either side of camper, roads are rough, cypher lock on bathhouse/latrine does not work or wrong code from staff. Staff friendly but I will not stay here again, may be OK for an overnight stop but nothing else. Power dropped several times so be sure to have a surge protector on your camper, also, make sure you have a water filter. Bottom line, only in an emergency would I recommend this campground, as it is very definitely NOT a resort. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We were hesitant to stop at this park considering the previous reviews, but it was getting late. We found the staff to be very nice, the pull-thru quite handy. Considering we are 40' plus a dolly and van, we need the space to make turns. It was not an issue for us. I would agree with a previous reviewer that the road was a little rough with all the speed bumps. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Speed bumps are bad, not needed. Roads are narrow and in pretty bad condition. Go slow. Staff was friendly and helpful with a couple of problems we had with tow vehicle. Sites are smallish and fairly close together. Most campers appear to be fairly permanent worker type RVs. Park OK for overnight stay but would not stay long term. Did not try the WiFi. Due to the roads and bumps etc, we did not hook up dinghy until we had left the park. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Motorhome.
