This was our first stay here but will not be our last. It was very clean, the owners were very friendly and attentive. We ended up extending our stay because we were enjoying it so much. Excellent trip!! We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Many historical attractions located in town and other towns close by. There is even a classic car museum close by with about 130 classics cars and they were spit shined.

I agree with other reviews; it is an excellent place to stay. The only problem I had was a weak Wifi signal at the extreme east end. I couldn't use my iPad and had to use my Alfa range extender with my laptop. However, a good signal was obtained at the outside table near the laundry/bath area, and was even usable at 8PM when the Wi-Fi at many RV parks is overloaded and totally unusable. Daytime speed is much better. Rates are $35 for back-in sites and $40 for pull-thru's. A 5% Good Sam discount is available. If you came to see historic sites in Milledgeville be sure to check current data. References, like the AAA Tour Book, are out of date. Telephone the Visitors Bureau, 1-800-653-1804, or go to https://www.visitmilledgeville.org/ > things to do > attractions. I highly recommend the Historic Trolley Tour, phone or check https://www.visitmilledgeville.org/listings/historic-trolley-tour/41721/ Also notice that some sites are closed on Saturday. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice location, out in the hills but close to the city. Lots of recent upgrades make this a great park to hang out at. We were there 2 weeks and wished we had time to stay longer! Hosts were great people too. WiFi and cable worked great. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Milledgeville was a blast, lots of local hang there and are very friendly. Plenty of history in the town too. Out on the loop there are any and every store you could ever need, Koger grocery store is a way out but the bargains are worth the drive, get the rewards card!! Walking and kayaking the river was a blast.

We found this campground in Nov and stayed for a week. We had to go back. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The campgrounds are well taken care of. The sites are spacious. They even provide a dog bath station. We don't have a dog, and this factor impressed me. We will be going back next year on our way to Florida again. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Trying out for the first time! What a find. The grounds are amazing, well cared for and thought out. We stayed in a pull thru site with amazing views. Friendly people, great amenities. This park has everything we would look for, pool, playground, walking trails, dog park. We'll be back with our family and friends this summer. This was really one of my favorite parks to stay. The grounds are beautiful, and very well maintained. They have a pool, playground and some of the normal amenities you'd expect in an RV park, but they have some that are a bit unique as well. There are a number of marked trails that meander through the woods on the property. They are not too strenuous, but offer a nice way to relax of enjoy a workout in the woods! They also have a dog park with an agility course! It's a very pet friendly park. The spaces are very large, and level. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A couple of great places to eat in Milledgeville: 1) Aubri Lanes, for fine dining, 2) Buffington's, a bar with great food and live music at times, 3) Metropolis Cafe, a hip scene with a full bar and Mediterranean food.

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Scenic Mountain from December 2016 to March, 2017. The monthly rate is $400, plus $80 electric for the first month. After that, the electric drops to actual kilowatts used. Regular nightly rates are $39 for back-in and$44 for pull through. Good Sam and military discounts save you 10% on daily rates. Weekly rates are $195. They also sell propane on site and have wifi, which proved to be sketchy at times. The park is roomy and well-maintained. There are walking trails and six stocked fishing ponds that do not require fishing license. The park is NOT breed restrictive, and there are dog washes and a dog park playground. If your dog is a barker, you probably should have a stern talk with it about outside behavior, though, as there are some people who don't appreciate it. Of course, there is nothing that can be done about the dogs outside the park who are vocal all night long, or the neighbors who randomly fire off guns at 3am. Other than that, it is a very nice park. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Milledgeville and nearby Eatonton have lots of places to visit and things to do. Milledgeville was the capitol of Georgia during the Civil War, home to novelist Flannery O'Connor, and the site of the world's largest mental institution, Central State Hospital. You can visit the Uncle Remus Museum and learn about Joel Chandler Harris and his Bre'r Rabbit stories in Eatonton. There are all sorts of historical things to see and do.

We returned to Scenic Mountain after a year traveling and we immediately noticed a difference. The crew continue to improve an already great place. Sites are now more level and many of them have been extended in length and width to handle larger rigs and give you more room to park. Distance between sites is way more than your typical RV park. Some sites have concrete patios. They have added a clubhouse and the office received a new attractive facade. Full hook up utilities continue to work well. Sites range from full sun to partial shade. We used our satellite dish for tv but cable is available. Wifi is typical for a campground and Verizon 4G is strong. Best place to stay in this area! We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Scenic Mountain RV Park for 5 nights.

Their staff assigned us to a site that did not meet our needs, but they provided us with a suitable alternative site. The office staff was readily available and always responsive to your needs. The ground staff interacted with us each day, and they were friendly and always asked if our needs were being met. The staff always tried to make us feel welcomed and special. We will definitely be coming back to Scenic Mountain RV Park, which is only 3 miles south of Milledgeville. The park has a clean dog park equipped with agility type equipment for exercising your dogs. I highly recommend this campground. We camped at Scenic Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Milledgeville is full of history and Southern Charm. It was the Capital of Georgia during the War Between the States, and history abounds. There is a trolley ride in town that stops at several historic places. I highly recommend visiting. Great shops and restaurants downtown, only 3 miles from the campground.
