1 Park near Newnan, Georgia
Sep 2015 - $20.00
We stayed here in Campground 1 for a long weekend. Campground 1 is for RVs, although tents are allowed also; and Campground 2 is for tents. Sites in Campground 1 are very spacious. We were on Site 111 and we could have parked two 36' fifth wheels on the site. Our site was private with trees on three sides. Campground was quiet, even when mostly full. Roads are paved, but sites are gravel with large gravel area for tables, fire ring, and lantern pole. Grass was mowed and site was level. 50 amp electrical service, water, but no cable. Very friendly rangers and hosts. Nice visitor center. No cell service, but adequate TV reception. Dump station was good and included hose for flushing tanks.
This park is for those of us who enjoy the outdoors, but not for those who want to eat at restaurants or go shopping, since it is several miles out. There are miles of hiking trails with varying terrain and this kept us busy for the days we were there. But beware of ticks on the trails. Kayaking is also an option since the park is on the river. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this campground for "camping." - Mr Haney

This park is relatively new (about 3 years old). It is very pretty, though not much to do unless you are into hiking, biking, or doing something with the river. It's very quiet. - Just Jo

This is a gorgeous park, much above the quality of most state parks. Even the parking lot in front of the Visitor's Center has expensive, detailed paving. Campground #1, where we stayed is only a couple of years old. Although the sites are nominally gravel, it is very tightly packed, and quite different from typical gravel. We would stay here for an extended period. - Carol49
