Huge park! One of GAs newest so it still needs a bit of breaking in. Nice layout in campgrounds, we are in CG 1 site 110, it's nice very private with a wooded view and a short trail to the river and observation tower. Normal SP amenities fire pit, picnic table, lantern post. Sites are level and big, plenty of room for rig and parking for a couple of cars. We are in a forty foot site that could handle any big rig. Good hiking and paddling. Nice cg to ride a bike around wide paved roads with gravel sites. We will definitely be back to this one . Having a good time. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean. Very well kept up. Few trees and very open, but sites are spaced apart. Bathrooms were the best I've seen, and better than nearly all commercial parks I've stayed at. Campground full on a Sunday night in early April. They even have a small lending library in a covered cabinet near the bathrooms. A "take one, leave one" policy. Reservations are not site specific, so even with a reservation it helps to arrive early. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Motorhome.

This is Georgia's newest state park. It is a nice well kept state park, and has been open approx 5 years. We were visiting family in the Newnan area, so the park seemed like a good idea. We didn't realize until we got there just how far out of town this park was! It's was a 20 to 30 minute drive through country roads to get into Newnan proper. Once there the stores and shopping are everywhere, but it is a drive. If you come to stay at the park be sure shop and stock up, as there no just running down to the corner store if you forgot something. Interestingly, our site said that it would hold up to a 40' RV. When we pulled in, the driveway pad had to be at least 100' long not including the tow car parking spot next to it! Why it's listed at 40' is beyond me. Even being fairly remote, our Verizon Air Card worked pretty well. We had a gravel back in site with a gravel patio off of a paved road. There are a few pull through spots available. There is lots of foliage around the sites, but not too close to feel cramped. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table. There is also lots of mature trees, so pick your site carefully if you want satellite reception. Upon entry you pay your fees, and then take your tag to the campground (about a mile away) and pick a site. Just put your tag on the site post and it's yours. The sites are 50 amp and water in loop one (large RV of any size), and 20 amp and water in loop 2 (small RV's and tents). The restrooms are in good shape and handicapped accessible. There is a kids playground in the RV park, and lots of hiking trails, some of which are still being built. The nights are quiet and dark, great for star gazing. It's a great park if you want to get away and enjoy nature, but rest assured you will never just accidentally wander into it. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Motorhome.

This park is off the beaten path. A nice park with gravel parking with very wide campsites. There is plenty of room to spread out. Some of the timbers used to shape the campsite were warped and presented a tripping hazard. The campground was very quite and I will definitely stay here again. We had no service on our T-**bile cell phones. Our friends had AT&* with good service and good television reception. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful spacious campground and park. Sites are private, have adequate space for unit and car, and have nice picnic space with table and fire ring. Very well spaced. Although it is somewhat of a drive to get to the remote area of the park, it is well worth the drive! Park staff was extremely nice too! We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautifully designed and very well maintained park about 35 minutes from downtown Newnan. Very secluded park. Lovely area. Park seems brand new. The ranger who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The campground is clean and quiet. This is first come first serve even with reservations, but lightly used and all sites pretty similar. 40 foot sites, spacious, wooded area. No view of any water feature though. The river is a walk through the woods. There is a lot of hiking, biking, canoeing available. A quiet park--the type of place that gives a woods experience, not a big park type experience. A couple or a family with older/active kids might enjoy more than a family with small kids. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The sites were extremely spacious and the park has lots of activities including a river, bike trails, and hiking trails. The camp host was very helpful and greeted us upon arrival and it was very quiet and peaceful while we were here. My only issue was absolutely no AT&T service (I had 2 bars of Verizon), but aside from that it was a nice place to stay and the 25% military/veteran discount was awesome. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gave this little campground a shot and loved it! It's about 15 miles from Newnan which is the closest town and there's only 2 gas stations in between so stock up. We stayed in 102 and liked the view and proximity to bathrooms and playground. Slightly uneven pad, but clean and new. All facilities are new so clean and nice as you'd expect. Hiking was good. Try the trails near the entrance. Liked them a little more than the river trail. Sprint cell service was 2 bars 3G. Try it out, you'll love it. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here in Campground 1 for a long weekend. Campground 1 is for RVs, although tents are allowed also; and Campground 2 is for tents. Sites in Campground 1 are very spacious. We were on Site 111 and we could have parked two 36' fifth wheels on the site. Our site was private with trees on three sides. Campground was quiet, even when mostly full. Roads are paved, but sites are gravel with large gravel area for tables, fire ring, and lantern pole. Grass was mowed and site was level. 50 amp electrical service, water, but no cable. Very friendly rangers and hosts. Nice visitor center. No cell service, but adequate TV reception. Dump station was good and included hose for flushing tanks.

This park is for those of us who enjoy the outdoors, but not for those who want to eat at restaurants or go shopping, since it is several miles out. There are miles of hiking trails with varying terrain and this kept us busy for the days we were there. But beware of ticks on the trails. Kayaking is also an option since the park is on the river. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this campground for "camping." We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is relatively new (about 3 years old). It is very pretty, though not much to do unless you are into hiking, biking, or doing something with the river. It's very quiet. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a gorgeous park, much above the quality of most state parks. Even the parking lot in front of the Visitor's Center has expensive, detailed paving. Campground #1, where we stayed is only a couple of years old. Although the sites are nominally gravel, it is very tightly packed, and quite different from typical gravel. We would stay here for an extended period. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great park, though the state access roads from the highway are narrow with no shoulder. The park has only been opened three years and shows it. All sites are level with a solid gravel bed. The areas around each site have a good gravel cover which is important to prevent orange footprints in the RV from the red clay in the area. Nice hiking trails throughout the park. Wi-Fi is available at registration and a weak cell phone signal (Sprint network) was available. Would be happy to stay again. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This camp ground is brand new. The road, the facilities, everything is new. This camp ground is way back in the woods. Closest gas station is 6 miles away. Use the directions from the camp ground website to get there. It was not in our GPS yet. No sites on the river. No shaded sites because the camp ground is new. There are some walk in tent sites that are shaded. This will be a great camp ground in the near future once the trees have grown. There are a lot of hiking trails and the Chattahoochee is down at the end of the road with a large picnic area and playground. We saw a lot of animals: Turkey, snakes, deer, and armadillo. We probably will go past this camp ground next time and stay on Lake West Point in LaGrange, GA. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I think it would be hard to rate this SP anything less than a 9 or 10. A new SP, sites are level, clean and well laid out. Picnic table, fire ring, lamp post, water & electric. The bathhouse is very nice and even has laundry facilities. Wi-Fi would be nice be we are camping so can't complain too much. I had good enough cell signal to hotspot our phone for internet. As a camping destination, you cannot go wrong here and should be at the top of your list. Note: $5 park fee in addition to camping fee. Beautiful well laid out campground. Excellent check-in staff. Nightly rate is discounted. Very, very deep back in sites that are very definitely big rig friendly. Pull thru's have a sharp angle of attack and may pose problems for longer rigs entering and exiting the pull thru site. Only reason I didn't rate the CG a 10 is there are no sewer hookups, cable, or wi-fi. As state parks go, it's beautiful and will be even more so as the area recovers from the construction. A definite diamond in the rough well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. We camped at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
