This has to rank as one of the nicest state parks we have encountered. We were in site 16 at the end of the loop. The site was spacious, fully shaded, and relatively easy to back into. We travel in a 35 foot class A motorcoach and had no trouble getting the coach backed into place with plenty of room for our tow car. There are a lot of open grassy picnic areas throughout the park (extremely clean and well maintained) and the views of the Lake were gorgeous with ample places to walk your pets. Sites are packed dirt and gravel with forest floor leaf litter. No noticeable bugs while we were there in mid-October. Fire rings and picnic tables were at each site. Site only had 30 amp electricity and full hook ups. We wished we stayed longer than our 5 Days. Camp hosts were amazing. No AT&T cell service but t-mobile worked. Cable was fuzzy but over-the-air tv channels worked well. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We toured the Richland Rum distillery and our host Jennifer was amazing. We also toured the Omaha Brewery and had a fabulous time in the tasting room. We went back a second day just to get some fresh canned brew to take home as gifts. We visited Providence Canyon State Park and did the hike into the Canyon. It was worth the walk and the .25 mile climb back up. Also visited Eufaula, AL and went by the shorter mansion (Sweet Home Alabama Movie). We were too late to take the tour that day.

This is a beautiful park! The sites are nestled among tall pine trees, but the effect is fairly open. If you have a roof-mounted TV dish, aim for sites 39-43 (they face west). There is no wifi anywhere and we had no ATT cell service. We were out of touch for the duration of our stay. The staff is great. We tried to use ReserveAmerica, but they said there were no sites of any type available. So we called the park directly and they had plenty of sites. Skip ReserveAmerica and call the park directly. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Motorhome.

We drove 22 miles south to Eufaula, AL for dinner and shopping. The downtown area was lovely. Also visit Providence Canyon, where you can walk along the floor of the canyon.

We stayed in a 40' 5th wheel for 1 week. VERY spacious, quiet, space for our 2 large dogs to exercise. Great people, just a handful of campers the 1st few days, but come friday totally booked. F/h, no problem with our dish. nice ranger and office staff. played mini golf, spent the day at Columbus walking the river walk and enjoyed the eating outdoors. Will Definetly visit again sorry we left. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nicely forested campground, sites are large - most pull thru, but you can see your neighbors. Some sites are paved. There is an incline to some of the sites so leveling may be required, depending on your rig. It looked like the exterior of the bathhouse & laundry had been redone, but the interior was old and could stand to be updated. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Motorhome.

Clean little park with the Georgia little grand canyon 8 miles away. You have to use "reserve America" which is a pain as they don't do the senior discount, then you get the discount at the park! The nearest gas, large grocery, or restaurant is many miles away so plan. Nice boat launch and picnic areas. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was very clean. It featured areas to bank fish from, had a cool putt-putt course and boat ramps inside the park. RV spots were more level than most, had no issues with the full hook ups or cable connection. We travel with our own wifi, so I can not comment on theirs. The park store was stocked with the basics and the store employees, park rangers and the camp hosts were all very friendly and helpful. After the park store closes in the evening, the host opens a satellite store in the campground offering items like firewood and Ice. We traveled here with our two beagles and would stay here again! Wow...Florence Marina was such a unique Georgia State Park that we had never even heard of before! While visiting our daughter in college in Columbus, we decided to check out this campground and was so glad we did! The campground sits on beautiful Lake Eufaula and the scenery is so nice! The Staff and Campground hosts were very friendly, and their Interpretive Center was a great way to find out about the local habitats of birds, snakes and fish. The campground is very well laid out, with the exception of several sites like ours that had some tree placement that made it difficult to back onto our site after dark...but I do enjoy a challenge! The campsites were gravel and very level. They also had great water pressure, sewer hookups at the sites, and cable hookups as well. Their bathroom was newer and was large and clean...that's always a plus! The beautiful canopy of trees with their spanish moss really added a neat camping environment...but watch out for the alligators! I tried my luck at fishing off of their dock and caught quite a few fish. You cannot fish from the banks due to the alligators. We also enjoyed the walking trail/bike trail out to the deck just past the marina for an great view of the sunset each night. There is also a mini golf at the campground as well. You are not really near any "entertainment" but there are plenty of things to do in this State Park to keep everyone happy! We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is absolutely awesome. It's quiet, has plenty of shade and probably the nicest bathhouse I seen at a state park. Sites are spacious, and all sites have sewer hookup, and cable, not all sites have 50 amp but some do. All sites are well marked and easily to tell where the boundaries of the sites are. We are in site 22 it has a concrete pad, others are grass and gravel no one seem to have an issue leveling. A drawback for some, not us, is that it is in a remote location. The closest town for supplies is about 20-25 miles away; fuel/gas could be found a little closer but wouldn't depend on it. Ranger said in the summer months they stay pretty full but this time of year it's very quiet. A visit to Michele's seafood is a must for a great seafood buffet. Nice park, well kept, lots of amenities for a state park-cable tv, full hookup. Waterfront sites would make it a 9- 10. We chose a Very large pull thru site on end. Easy access in and out for our 45' motorhome. Poor AT&T service. Go see Providence Canyon. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Motorhome.

Sites were big and partially shaded. Level, gravel, fire ring and grill. Bath houses were clean and well stocked. The DNR Ranger is very friendly and drove through the campground several times each day. The civilian staff were friendly and were willing to help, if needed. The camp host took us on a boat ride to see wildlife and went above and beyond to help our friends try to fix some plumbing issues. Breaker went bad and they fixed it within 20 minutes, of course it was during the day. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone. Nice center with info on the area. Live "gator" in a tank to look at. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I don't understand the positive remarks. This is the worst park we have stayed at. You can't tell where the campsite's are, to many leaves. At times very noisy. Have to travel by car to fish. campsites not maintained, trash, burn pits not cleaned out. would never stay here again... We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The guy who checked us in was a friendly guy who could have been in a movie...smooth fellow. He said we had selected the best park in Georgia for our stay and he was probably right. I have not stayed in many Georgia parks, but it was as good as any park I have been in. If they had WiFi and were closer to a store or restaurant, I would have rated them a 10. The cable TV was excellent. They have many pull-thru spaces and I had many to choose from. Providence Canyon is only about a 10 minute drive away. I highly recommend the trek. The marina that was part of the park looked really good, but I did not have my boat with me. Two guys came in near me who had a 30' travel trailer and a pontoon boat in tow behind it...never seen that much in tow before. They had plenty of room for both and the tow truck in their pull-thru camping space. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful campground in a lovely wooded area. The sites are large and well spaced. We camped here all summer because we were in the area on business. It is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It does not get much use and on most nights there were only a few campers in the campground. It is located on a large lake with a fishing pier and marina. There is also a nice playground and putt-putt golf. It is in a remote area and is very peaceful. This park overall was pretty nice. Great fishing, great photo ops! Staff and host were very friendly! The grass was excessively high! They began cutting the day we were leaving because July 4th was that week. They had a pool, but it was covered and locked up. Don't know why. You could not swim in the lake, because it had lots of alligators. Planning on staying in one of their cabins next year and bringing a bass boat though! What a beautiful park this is! We really enjoyed our stay here and loved walking around the picturesque woods and checking out the lake. No WiFi to speak of and AT&T internet and phone were useless. We had to use our Verizon internet and phone while here and those didn't work so well either. The cable is maybe 12 channels but you don't usually see cable at a state park anyways. They had just opened the renovated bathrooms while we were there and everything was clean and worked good. We would return if in the area again. We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
