Located in a hilly area, navigating a 45' motorhome was a bit of a challenge! Some trees need to be trimmed. Site was gravel and pretty level. On a hill so tiered along with the other sites. Roads paved. New owner who is making upgrades. Wifi was great! Didn't use cable as it required a "box" - over air okay. Restrooms very clean and partially upgraded. Need hooks in showers to hang stuff! Very helpful staff. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Motorhome.

Visiting Civil War battlefields. Poor check in process. could not find paper copy of reservation (fortunately i was in the computer system). unable to determine if i had pre-paid 1st night. no briefing on amenities ( bathhouses, wifi, trash pick up etc ) just some directions to my site. rough gravel sites poorly marked. some with fire rings (not at mine). broken down picnic table. Bright-as-day floodlights on all night. lots of evidence of deferred maintenance or just no maintenance at all ( weeds in sidewalk cracks, mounds of dirt on walkways, litter) . gravel washed out on roadways. lots of long term residents ( affordable housing for local workers) in shoddy trailers. would not return. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Booked a site by phone, not as easy to use as described. The lady on duty went way beyond to see to our satisfaction. We were more than pleased. That said, there are a few too many trees for easy movement for a big rig. Nice and clean and very convenient to hwy. 40 foot or less perfect for stay. Stayed overnight. Was originally scheduled to stay from 6 to 8 July but was delayed a day. Informed the management and when I checked in they gladly provided a refund for that day. While most campers complain about not enough trees I think they need to trim a few back that are just in the way. If the site in front of us had not been vacated we would have never been able to make the turn to exit the facility. Campground was clean and quiet but they do need to address drainage from the rain runoff.

Site 121 was unsuitable for our 37 ft 5th wheel. While it was easy enough to get into there was no way to exit unless the sites in from ( across the road) were empty. Even then it was hard to make the turns due to the trees that didn't really add any value. No maintenance on weekends. (1) Site 120 had water stuck in the on position and by the next AM the area in front of our entrance was a mud pit. (2) shower facility nearest camper had toilet in shower full and overflowing We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

The office is new and they converted the old KOA building into a nice club house. The showers and rest rooms stalls were small. The gravel site I was in and most of the other sites were washed out and had deep ruts. The office staff was only in the office from time to time and she would leave well before closing and lock up shop. They were not helpful with finding your site and failed to tell me the cable TV needed a converter box for it to work. The pool was very nice but they rent the pavilion/pool out for outside parties and it made the area noisy and well over crowded. There are several sites which are long term trailer and tent folks living in the park. (Domestic Drama!) The positive is they are close to Lookout Mountain, Chickamauga Nation Battlefield, Chattanooga and the Tn. Valley Railroad Museum with train rides. Easy on off of I75. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

We were assigned site 81 and were told it was better than a pull thru. It was on the lower road across from a non working dump station, work equipment and dumpster. The ground was constantly wet due to some underground leak. Our site was directly on the road with enough room to let out slides but not awnings or to sit. We stayed here for a month while moving between homes. Many other monthly tenants but park was quiet and people were friendly. Campground hosts were friendly and helpful. They would come by and pick up garbage each day which I hadn't seen before in an RV park. Cable worked well but Wifi could use some improvement. Bathroom showers and pool were clean. Proximity to I75 doesn't exactly create that woodsy atmosphere but I still thought it a nice place. Dog park was very convenient but needs fencing so dogs can run free. Easy in and out, convenient from I75. Site was level but heavy rains created some washing that needs to be addressed. Overall good place I would recommend. No sign on the road to point to the location behind a wine dealer. All literature stated cable. No cable. The pool was very nice. Either the owner or manager yelled into the pool area to find out whose car was parked in front of the building. I told him that it was me. He told me that it was a no parking zone and was marked as such. It was marked but he had to remove his pickup from over the marking to show it. His attitude was less than appreciative of a customer. In fact, I would call it rude. Sites were not clean. Last fall's leaves were still all over the campsites. We needed a late checkout and told them that we were willing to pay for it so they charged us for a full night. That was our mistake. We were an hour and a half late leaving.

These folks have within the last few(6) months bought this location. They need some time. But with the attitude of "man"(owner/manager) they want be here long. This park is open year round and needs some TLC. At the present I don't intend on coming back even though it is convenient to the interstate. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Motorhome.

Stayed for 3 nights to visit Chattanooga Area, sites extremely hard to get in to with a big rig! Staff does not know how to run a RV Park!! Under new Mgt. whom is foreign, I don't think he knows how to hire people to run an RV Park. Big Rains washed out many berms and Maint. Staff was in no hurry to get them fixed. Bid Rig hard to maneuver, close sites, very hilly!!! we would not stay here again!! 43' Pusher with SUV Dingy. This campground is convenient and close to I-75. It has narrow gravel roads and pads, many are not level, but we leveled without issue. The sites are narrow so watch the utility poles when opening your slides. It was very difficult to see the site addresses, so we had to stop some park workers for directions. There are many trees but we got a satellite signal. The wifi needed our extender to work well. Even though the site was a pull-through, we had to ask people in the cabin across from us to move their car in order to pull out. The park picks up trash at the site, but it's not always timely, so birds and squirrels get into it making quite a mess. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Motorhome.

Do not believe Good Sam's high rating or picture in their directory. This Park is definitely not good for big rigs. We were put in a horizontal space along the road. The Park is not maintained. It appears they have many full-time residents who are allowed to tie their pets outside and leave the park. They indicate they pick up your trash at your site but this is done haphazardly. There was garbage residue on our site as well as soda bottles and containers in the limited amount of grass they have which is not mowed. Pleasant but extremely unknowledgeable employees who know nothing about RV's and how to select a space for them. On some sites, the electrical boxes were stripped of their parts. There are no rv supplies in the office or ice to purchase. Supposedly this Park is under new Management. If this is the case, Management knows nothing about running an rv Park. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Motorhome.

We stayed in site 80 on the lower road. It was a pull off site that your door and awning faced the road but if you put out your awning it would have been taken off by passing rigs. The site was not mowed, and underwater the entire time. You had to walk around the rig and up a very steep hill to get to the fire ring and picnic table. The pool was nice but that is about all. Glad we had not planed to spent much time at the campground. Sure missed having the nightly campfire though. We had a nice site..long enough for our 42' mh and toad. The big rig sites are close to the interstate but noise was not an issue. Office staff very friendly and accommodating. We disconnected our toad only because we went sightseeing. Could have left it connected. Would stay again.
