We really liked the East Rim the Best. Seemed more open and spacious and right down the street to see the beautiful Canyon. Nice gravel sites. Has one bathhouse only. It is very old but functional. The water pressure is pretty high, so be careful hooking up to the water. No full hook up available. Fall leaves were about peak. Regarding the trails. We hiked the Sitton's Gulch Trailhead, 4 miles roundtrip. Don't be fooled, it is difficult for 60 year old folks, but was finally worth the view of Hemlock Falls. Nearest grocery stores was about 7-8 miles. We will be back. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A beautiful park. We stayed there three days to visit the area. The roads were good, camp sights clean and level, great hiking trails, easy access to area points of interest. We were there to visit the civil War battlefields. I will definitely stay there if in the area. We stayed on the South rim Loop. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Came without reservations traveling on the way home. 6mile drive up mt., somewhat steep and hairpin turns. Campground well maintained with gates that are locked 10pm-7am. We stayed in East Rim sites are spacious, very level water/elec. Yurts, new cabins, group camping and walk-ins available. Nice trails with great views. Firewood available at each section from camp hosts. Playgrounds at each section. Quiet and peaceful place. Not far from town or Lookout Mt. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful park and campground. The road in climbs 1,200 feet with a couple of switchbacks but we navigated it easily with a 40-foot motorcoach and a tow vehicle. Just take it easy. Would do a 10-rating but there are no sewers and electricity is only 30-amp (we used a cheater box to get service from both 30-amp outlets). Lots of trees would block satellite reception when leaves are out but ours worked this time. We stayed in the east rim campground which seems to be newer, but the west rim sites are nice too. Sites are angled well for easy back-ins. Lots of nice trails and great views, This was our third time here over the years and we'll keep it on our "return to" list. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

We simply love this park. Beautiful in the fall. Fantastic hiking. West Rim sites are very well wooded. We have four feeders out and the birds are very happy. Roads on West Rim campground are narrow and some turns are sharp. I am in a 40 foot long, tall, wide fifth wheel so it is a challenge, but we made it. You cannot reserve a specific site. Some have 50 amp and are so marked. None have sewer. Unfortunately, they do not exercise any control on site selection so we did see tent campers on a 50 amp site. Great water pressure. Enjoy!!

We are here for five nights and won't leave the park. We are here to hike as much, as many, as often as possible. It is so beautiful here that I have no desire to go anywhere else. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The only reason I am not rating park with a 10 is the lack of 50 amp spaces. There are approximately 10 or less and we were lucky enough to get one of the only ones remaining. We had a 40 ft RV with 2 A/Cs and less than 50 amp was not an option with us staying 7 days. My main complaint was with the tent campers taking up some of the 50 amp spots. Overall park host were very nice and bath houses were very clean and also had laundry facilities. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If they would not let tents take 50amp sites, I would rate better. I won't go back, as pretty as it is because of the power. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Campground was full over the Labor Day Weekend. We camped on the West rim. Trash cans were overflowing a couple of times during the weekend however; everything was eventually handled before animals got into it. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Did not rate a 10 due to lack of WiFi and sewer connections. Camped in a travel trailer. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the East Rim campground in a 40 foot motorhome. Ample space for a big rig. Few spaces with a clear satellite view. We received signal from the first site on left when you enter. We visited West Rim and sites and roads would be tight for a big rig. No clear sky access there. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park with great hiking trails. We originally planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 5. The sites are shady and very roomy. Grocery store is 8 miles into Trenton. The camp store has a nice selection of camping gear and souvenirs. Not much food though! There is a small " library" with some novels near the bath house. We stayed in the west rim campground. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Chickamauga to visit the civil war battlefield. Very nicely done, outdoors! You drive through the national park and call a phone number on the site posts and you get a recorded message telling you all about the battle fought at that stop. Took about an hour to drive through the park and listen at the stops.

If you're into hiking and are in good shape, this place is a no-brainer. Beautiful waterfalls and scenery. And they have trails of all levels. Our site was so spacious too. This park has two different camping location, there is a wooded one and a non wooded one. We chose the wooded one and we could not have been better. The is very spread out many hiking trails. We even found one from the campground that provided a nice swimming hole for the entire family. Laundry was cheap to do here also. This is high on our camping experiences. Just an hour away from the city. This would be a restful stopover for travelers who want to bypass Chattanooga by going up one side of Lookout Mtn and down the other thus missing that ugly I-75, I-24 intersection. Or it would be a great place to stay while visiting Chattanooga. Hiking trails abound as does the scenery (I can't wait to go back in the fall). The restrooms in the campground are older but clean and they could be quite a walk from many of the campsites. We stayed in the West Brow Loop which is away from the day use facilities. There are cabins and yurts for rent also. Our site was gravel, level and spacious. We had just the privacy we like. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.
