Campground was full over the Labor Day Weekend. We camped on the West rim. Trash cans were overflowing a couple of times during the weekend however; everything was eventually handled before animals got into it. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Did not rate a 10 due to lack of WiFi and sewer connections. Camped in a travel trailer. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a wonderful park with great hiking trails. We originally planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 5. The sites are shady and very roomy. Grocery store is 8 miles into Trenton. The camp store has a nice selection of camping gear and souvenirs. Not much food though! There is a small " library" with some novels near the bath house. We stayed in the west rim campground. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Chickamauga to visit the civil war battlefield. Very nicely done, outdoors! You drive through the national park and call a phone number on the site posts and you get a recorded message telling you all about the battle fought at that stop. Took about an hour to drive through the park and listen at the stops.

We stayed in the East Rim campground in a 40 foot motorhome. Ample space for a big rig. Few spaces with a clear satellite view. We received signal from the first site on left when you enter. We visited West Rim and sites and roads would be tight for a big rig. No clear sky access there. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

If you're into hiking and are in good shape, this place is a no-brainer. Beautiful waterfalls and scenery. And they have trails of all levels. Our site was so spacious too. Campground hosts are only temporary but we had a really nice one in the East rim. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Make sure to get gas before exiting 75. Road from 75 to the park needs to be taken fairly slowly.

This park has two different camping location, there is a wooded one and a non wooded one. We chose the wooded one and we could not have been better. The is very spread out many hiking trails. We even found one from the campground that provided a nice swimming hole for the entire family. Laundry was cheap to do here also. This is high on our camping experiences. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Loop road was tight with deep fall-off from tar on edges, be careful; we have a 35 foot 5th wheel and a dually. We would recommend staying here and hope to return again someday. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Just an hour away from the city. This would be a restful stopover for travelers who want to bypass Chattanooga by going up one side of Lookout Mtn and down the other thus missing that ugly I-75, I-24 intersection. Or it would be a great place to stay while visiting Chattanooga. Hiking trails abound as does the scenery (I can't wait to go back in the fall). The restrooms in the campground are older but clean and they could be quite a walk from many of the campsites. We stayed in the West Brow Loop which is away from the day use facilities. There are cabins and yurts for rent also. Our site was gravel, level and spacious. We had just the privacy we like. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Some restaurants and convenience stores at this end of the mountain. I'd be prepared ahead of time. 8 - 10 degrees cooler on the mountain. Dumping station available.

This was a great park overall. Large level sites, picnic table, etc. No sewer on-site, but the dump station was very well laid out and nice. TV reception and Verizon cell service was excellent. Main reason for 7 rating and not 9: the sites are not assigned. You reserve "a" site...any site. So when you go to the campground itself, you have to circle around until you settle on a site with proper size for your rig. There is no restrictions where tenters are allowed to setup vs. RVs vs. big rigs. The 50A pull-throughs were all taken by tenters by the time we got there (mid-afternoon). The sites should at least be reservable by type (i.e. short length, 30A, 50A, pull-through). Someone with a triple axle 5th wheel or a bus that arrived at 8pm on a Friday would be hard-pressed to fit into a remaining site; if not impossible. This park charges a one-time parking fee in addition to the campsite fee. This is a peeve of mine, so I knocked down my rating for this, too. If you are camping and there is a parking fee, it should be included in the camping fee, not an additional "surprise" charge when you check in. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The only reason I'm not giving this place a 10 is the lack of 50amp power. The sites are level and wide. You have a choice of two campgrounds. One is open and the other is more back in the woods. Both are easy to get around in. Lots of things to see and do. There is a nice restaurant down the road from the park called The Canyon Grill. This place is very expensive. Our internet, phones and satellite worked great here. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

This Park is breathtaking with the fall foliage. The canyon and hikes are worth the trip alone. The camping sites are well spaced out, especially on the West Rim. The bathrooms were clean, people picked up after their dogs, it was quiet well before the specified quiet time, and the general store was well stocked. A+ We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall this is a good camp ground. It is really close to a lot of attractions in Chattanooga, and the campground has great trails. The views are beautiful and can only imagine how amazing it will be in the fall. There are two camping areas. For us, we liked the west rim. Sites are much larger, has more trees and feels a lot more private. A few things they could improved on are the roads. They are very narrow with drop offs on the sides. This makes backing in some of the sites very difficult. Also for some reason we don't understand, the dump station for the west rim is not near the camp ground. It's a couple miles away on a very hilly, twisty road. The east rim's dump station is near, so for that side it is not a problem. The bathhouse for the west rim are very small and old. We will camp here again. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

WOW: one of our favorite Georgia parks for a variety of reasons. Breezes and lower temperatures will greet you at this altitude. Refreshing in the heat of summer. You have your choice of the East Rim Campground or West Rim Campground.

East Rim sites have no privacy but are close to the canyon and Interpretive Center. Our preference, the West Rim, is outstanding. Spacious, clean, private sites set amongst the trees with trails that drop down to the West Rim right from many of the campsites. Most sites are level and have electric and water. Dump station is down the road outside the campground. Picnic Tables and Grills at each site.

CG roads and backing into site can be challenging for Class A's and truck/trailers although there are pull-thru sites. Bring in all your supplies. The visitor center is not a well stocked camp store. Camp hosts that work in the visitor centers are most helpful and friendly just as they are when they make their rounds of the CG. You can purchase firewood from the Camp Hosts after 5:00. The hikes/views are incredible. If here on the weekend take advantage of the Sunset Stroll with the Ranger. Or, how about a round of Disc Golf at the course that's in the park! They also offer Cave Exploration. Booked for 3 nights, stayed an extra 2 nights: outstanding! We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

We chose the East Rim as it is close to the canyon/waterfall trails and overlooks. Most of the sites are good size, gravel pads, nice picnic table, some are shaded. Some sites have terraces with woods behind. We really liked Site 55. The East Rim sites are more open and you can see your neighbors. The restroom is clean but very outdated and (showers especially) were very small - not ADA compliant. You have to go to the West rim for ADA facilities. West Rim sites are shadier and more spacious.
The trail down to the waterfalls is definitely worth doing (even though there are 600 steps total, they are spaced far enough apart, that coming back up wasn't bad at all. Not much around so have all your supplies before going into park, although there is a gas station, cafe and little shop not far from entrance. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

We camped at the West Rim Campground, sites are more spacious and many pull-throughs. Semi-private, lots of trees, level. Power, water good, roads need some work. East Rim Campground more congested. Many hiking trails especially down to the waterfall. Word of caution, many steps down to the Canyon floor with numerous rest stops but worth the climb down. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful campground. Easy to get into spot with our 35' fifth wheel. Stayed here to visit Chickamauga and Lookout Mt. Gave it a nine instead of 10 because price was a little high for state campground. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
