Part of annual Bluebird Wanderlodge rally. Very nice park but no recycling, so no 5 stars. Very clean park, kept neat & tidy, friendly staff. Several premium sites, those up on the hill, have patios of pavers atop Georgia's red clay - our site & several others had few pavers, so lots of sticky red mud. Hopefully tose will be repaired before we're back next fall. - finally Free

I have stayed in this campground many times for an overnighter on my way back from the Florida panhandle. Always stay in the newer section that has concrete pads but no real patio - just some stepping stones in the ground. I don't like that the pads have a curb on the left side. I always unhook my tow vehicle because I usually have to back up a bit to get on the pad correctly which is inconvenient. Also they have 2 sewer hookups but, unless I was staying longer and took out my additional sewer hoses, neither are do-able. I usually pull forward in the morning to dump. Wifi was good but the cable was fuzzy. Still it's good for overnight or a few days to visit Calloway Gardens. I don't like their non-refundable cancellation policy and never make a reservation until I'm on the road and know I'll be stopping. You can pay a higher price and get a refund if you have to cancel but that seems like gouging to me. I could understand this during high volume times but when I've been there the campground was pretty empty. Make sure you ask for Good Sam discount as it's not offered. - IntrepidCampers

Not enough characters to list my concerns about this "Resort". Be specific when making reservation, ask if special event requiring additional fees are scheduled, any limitations on use of facilities, mention any discount, they will not ask or give them at check-in, make them give you a receipt showing your discount. Ask if cable hookup works, ours never worked at all! Ask if the sand is vacuumed out of the pool and hot tub, has the pool deck been swept in the last few days, has the overgrown vegetation on the fence around the pool been removed. And, above all don't be offended when they don't seem concerned about your complaint. The answer I got was "we can't do that". This is not a Resort only a campground/RV Park. They need to pay attention to details and improve customer service. Buyer beware!! - Ch4967

Cannot say enough about this great park and the people who own and operate it. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. We left our home in Port St. Joe, Florida, after the devastating Hurricane Michael came through our town. We spent 2 weeks there recovering from the shock from the hurricane. The Owner's did everything they could to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay, including the use of a ladder and caulking gun to reseal the roof on our camper. They even went as far as to buy us worms to fish in their pond and one day gave us 2 packages of venison from their freezer!! There are some full time residents in the park located behind the office. Everyone there was extremely friendly and courteous towards the RV campers. The campground itself has ample sites with long pull thrus, grassy and level ground. Picnic tables at every site. The sites are well back from the road, with plenty of room to walk your dog. The grounds were well kept, quiet and beautiful. Pool was super nice, clean, but too cool to use at this time of year. Love this place and would camp there again! Many Thanks to the Owners! They were great Hosts!!! - Rita and Larry Bronson
Dec 2017 - $28.00
Ramsey's RV Park is a nice little place. The owner is very nice. We were scheduled to arrive before closing time but had problems with our trailer. We called and he instructed us on what to do upon arrival. There are front pull through sites that do sit somewhat close to each other. But we didn't plan on staying in the park other than sleeping at night so this wasn't a problem for us. Seems like there was more sites around back of the office but we didn't ever go around so I'm not sure. There is a pool that looks very clean and inviting but it's December so that was a no go for us. The sites we saw were all clean, grassy and level. All in all it's a nice small place away from everything but still close enough. I'm only giving 9 because of the close sites. But other than that it's a great place to stay. It's an older park but the new owner is making upgrades frequently. Would stay again! - Stephanie McCall
Jul 2017 - $28.00
This is the second time we stayed here. The host was very nice and helpful. It appears that most of the sites are pull thru's with both shady and open sites. Very convenient to Greenville for visiting family. We would stay here again. - Sleeps Two
Nov 2018 - $30.00
good clean restrooms, sites a little small and all back ins and some not level backing in, only complaint needs better dump stations We had rain and had to leave, park service was excellent in giving refund for nights not used (great service). Callaway Gardens is real close so can visit it too. fire rings could be closer to site / lot. - billreedred
Aug 2018 - $16.00
Really nice park!! Advice from others about what loops to avoid very true. Did see attendant taking photos of each campsite, getting ready for site specific website update. While there are sites where leveling is good, most sites, all loops, need gravel work for leveling. Loop #5 has many pull-thru sites but are really close to the road. I have never seen a Georgia State Park with this many grey water dumps, they are running slow right now because of a really wet summer. Good electric and water pressure. Not every site has a light pole, but all have fire ring and picnic table, some wooden, some concrete. - Retired Medic
Aug 2018 - $16.00
A great State Park that plans lots of family based activities on a weekly basis (check their website) for add'l fee. The Pool is 1.8 miles away on the outskirts of the park. There is a daily fee but reduced for Campers. There are SIX Loops with sites. Only Loop One truly has lake view sites and most of them are 15' or less. If you have a Trailer/RV bigger than 30' AND/OR need 50amp, head directly to the more secluded Loop 5 (trust me!!!). We found Loops TWO and THREE and FOUR crowded but there were sites to fit our 28' TT. Loop SIX is behind the Trading Post and tiny. Almost all sites can be tricky with leveling. Loop ONE is the easiest to level. VERY tight turns in Loops TWO, THREE and FOUR. Loop FIVE is a bit easier to drive but has low branches. There are three Camping Hosts who did a great job when we were there as well as many Park Rangers. Kayaks and Canoes for rent but no swimming in the lake. Clean Showers but can get crowded on busy weeks. FDR is becoming a "site specific" reservable campground in late 2018 so no more driving around looking for a spot! - Kitcatsz
Oct 2017 - $35.00
Just opened in March 2017. Site says full hookup, but that's not accurate....there's no sewer hookup. There are 6 sites and 6 cabins. The park is beautiful with a pretty river, some hills and lots of trees. It kind of looked like they will be building more campsites in the future. We were in site 12 which was ok until there were occupants in 11 and 10. Got much tighter then! I would recommend staying in 1-3 as those sites seemed to be laid out better. There is a little bit of a lack of "supervision" from staff. Kind of a free for all which is ok until you have a site with a travel trailer plus 3 vehicles and a total of 6 people and a big dog. That was a little much. It would be nice if there was more of a staff presence. Oh and all of the sites say ADA compatible....I really don't think that's a fair statement. It's all gravel and hilly. We got great AT&T and T-Mobile cellular coverage and LOTS of OTA TV channels! Overall it was a great place to spend a couple of nights. The first night it was just us and people in one cabin. Peaceful bliss! - doggpurr
Sep 2018 - $46.00
This park is nice but rather crowed and close. They have sewer, water and electricity handy. WiFi is weak unless you sit by office. Laundry is nice and cool during heat of the day. They offered sheet with things to go to in the area. I might if necessary stay here again. - Gloria S.
Sep 2018 - $42.00
Expected more for the price. Pool was locked and dirty with plastic chairs. We had our small puppy and whenever we took him for a walk he would be covered with fleas which he has never had before. Lots of full timers and not well maintained. Definitely not worth the price they charged. - bwalkerc2
May 2018 - $36.00
This park has a lot of potential, but it needs a LOT of attention. The interior roads are OK, the sites are not too bad, fairly level with gravel. The park is laid out weird. There is only one small bathhouse in the whole park and it looks to be in severe need to be completely replaced. Signs were up stating they were working on repairs, but you never saw any signs of progress. Most of the buildings are old and need attention. Lots of permanent residents and the RV's in the park are very weathered. Residents (if you saw one) were not too friendly.
The park was nearly full over Memorial Day, but you didn't see any activity. The Good Sam ratings are way off on this one. On the other hand, the staff we spoke to were very friendly. If in the area again, I would look for another place to stay. We actually left a day ahead of schedule to find a better place to stay. - BuckeyeTravels
Apr 2018 - $23.00
We stayed 3 days. The park is right beside the lake. About 1/2 the sites are lakeside and the other 1/2 have lake view. All sites are level with crushed gravel pads and great hookups. It's one of the cleanest campgrounds I've seen and the staff was extremely helpful. - Buddy Ray
Apr 2017 - $20.00
We stay at this campground four or five times a year and love it. The host(s) are always very helpful and friendly. The facilities are always clean and in good order. The pads are always clean. This is our favorite place to camp. - BrentGreene
Apr 2013 - $20.00
We love this park. The park is in Central time and the office is on Eastern time, so have to pay attention when the gate is locked. We stayed by the lake but there are other sites that are good too. There's fishing and water activities and a small playground for the kids. It's well worth the trip to stay. Be sure you have groceries--it's a few miles to get to nearest food source. - jimdee
