This place is wonderful! It's clean, well maintained, has great amenities and the staff are so nice and helpful. It would be nice if there were trees in between sites, but where we were still felt very private. We had an end spot, #17, which had a lot of space and we backed up to trees so we had some nice shade. There are animals, an amazing playground, a pool, beautiful ponds, nice porch type swings and it's just a short drive into Savannah, which is beautiful. The Savannah Trolley will pick you up at the park. You can buy discounted tickets at the office. They have a weight room, a kitchen, laundry facilities, a nice living room with tv and more. Everything was nice, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Gravel road and gravel site CG with 21 sites total. Nice walking dogs around the grounds, nature trail and open fields. Farm like setting with horses, goats and chickens. There is a pool and large pond. There was a brunch festival during the day but was not an issue with noise. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is kind of a funky little RV park. It's an event venue, small farm, and RV Park. My review is based on the particular site we had (C1). Site C1 is right beside a screened porch used for parties. It overlooked two ponds and the view was excellent (sadly the weather was horrible, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would have liked). There's a small fire pit with a swing bench located on the site. The site area was huge and very level... easy access in and out. Hookups (water & electric) were easy to access. There is a farm located onsite, so you can spend time visiting with horses, goats, chickens and bunnies... it really was super cute. The whole park is clean and there is a very nice play area for kids and a large pool for the warmer days. The staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. There are a few negatives as well, though. The park is great and the staff is very nice, but there are very few private sites with water & electric hookups (no sewer). If I recall correctly, site C1, C2, and C3 are the only ones that are set off near the ponds that offer shade and a great view. Most of the sites with hookups are out in the open and offer no shade at at. Because there are no trees to buffer noise, you can hear everyone's conversations. Also, there are non-stop trains that come through at all hours of the day (the track is on the other side of the pond). I have a train track near my house, so it didn't bother us... but they are pretty loud if you aren't use to it. The main thing that would be a negative is that if you book one of the sites near one of their event buildings, and they book an event for the same time, we were told that they will move you to whatever open spot they have available... that may even be a dry site (no hookups at all). Since we do not dry camp, that would be a huge issue for us, so keep that in mind when booking and call a week in advance to make sure that nothing has changed with your reservation. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

RVs in a circle facing each other on a large mowed grass field with full hookups. Some sites are larger than others. At our site we were close to our neighbors. Lots of grass and was a great place to walk the dogs. Wifi was slow. Satellite friendly and lots of OTA stations. We were here during the week so can't speak to the comments about loud noise from events. Some train noise but at least they didn't blow their horns at night. It is a lovely place to take a walk; horses, chickens, goats and all. Not too far from Savannah historic district. It was ok for a few nights to see Savannah. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The place is nice, albeit it is only an open field with utilities, but it is also a special event venue. So at 9:30 at night, the wedding, or whatever celebration that is going on about 150 yards from our motorhome, is so loud. The bass is making it impossible to sleep. And the screaming from the attendees is so over the top. Won't stay here again. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park - spacious feel as the RVs all face an open grassy field. I think the office had nice restroom and kitchen facilities, but we did not use them. One issue we had was a huge area of dirt - which was muddy in morning dew - right outside of our door - 10 feet long - no way to avoid. This should have been filled in with gravel - fresh sod would have been preferable. I am sure this was caused by a large mat left in grass for an extended period - consequently, we had to put down our large mat to cover the mud (not pleasant when packing up to leave). We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice place, close to Savannah. We would stop here again - just ask for a better site. Most of the sites are very nice. Some are in shade, others in the sun - nice mix.

Well kept park. I like the small family type campground feeling here. Second stay in same spot -B3. Private spot with view of the large open field and horse pasture. Grass and level. the sewer connection could be about 6 inches lower to make it work better. Office/bath house/laundry etc are right next door. Very convenient park if you plan to visit historic downtown Savannah. A bit pricey, but considering the area the price was in line. We stayed in an overflow site that had water and electric only but the setting on this farm is beautiful. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Really liked this park. The place was interesting. The grounds were nice had a couple of nice ponds, pool, allowed to walk all around. They had a film crew there, while interesting they were loud a couple nights. Sites were decent size, good power, very close to town. We would recommend. Not much to add to previous reviews. Nice place to overnight or to spend time visiting the many sights historic or otherwise here. Staff is friendly and helpful. The "open" parking areas are good for satellite reception. The Old Town Trolley Tour of Savannah is a great way to see historic Savannah, plus they pick you up at the park. Wifi is weak and mostly useless during typical use hours. We enjoyed our stay here and will again when in the area. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed one week and paid $45/night. There was no tax. The reservation process and check-in went smoothly. The reception staff was efficient and extremely helpful and friendly. The park (farm) is a lovely property as others have described. It's a wonderful place to take walks and enjoy nature. The pygmy goats are so cute! The huge grassy areas, playground, lakes, animals, pool, etc. make this ideal for families although we didn't see children while we were there. The office allowed us to receive packages. The campground picks up trash daily at each site. We had two tornado warnings (quite serious and scary) during our stay. Since we're from California with no tornado experience, the staff instructed us on how to prepare, what to expect and where to go if necessary. We were glad to know the park has a tornado siren system which, fortunately, didn't sound during our stay. There is moderate hwy and train noise but it didn't bother us. The roads are a bit dusty. All hook-ups functioned perfectly. Park wifi did not work at our site but did work at the office. Verizon cell, Sprint Mifi and DirecTV signals were fine. If in the area, we would definitely stay here again. They have a huge grassy field where they offer dry-camping (across from sites 4-12) by the volleyball court. If you need a place to stop for the night without unhooking your toad, this would be a good choice. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Museum of the Mighty Eighth is a must. Allow twice as much time as you think you need. Try Joe's Homemade Cafe for a reasonably priced delicious lunch, fantastic desserts, free parking and delightful hospitality. We loved Adventures in Motion Segway tour which includes an audio feed so you can listen to your guide while moving. Take your Natl Park Pass to Fort Pulaski. Catch the canon firing and free guided tour. We enjoyed riding the bike paths on Hilton Head Island.

Most sites are in a ring around the outside of a large field, with electric and water hookups. This time we got a site off the main area, a nice quite site tucked off to the side by a pavilion by a beautiful lake. Sites are grass, reasonably level with water and electric. The "bathhouse" is inside the office. It is a small house with the check in desk, the wifi/common room, and then 2 regular household full bathrooms, not a traditional campground bathroom. The property is very close to Savannah, but is located on a farm setting. My kids love the horses, goats, chickens, peacocks and other animals on the farm. Nice property around which to take a walk after dinner too. This is our second stay, they are always nice and accommodating here. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
