This aging state park is in a beautiful setting and has a lot to offer for adult and family entertainment. However, the cheaper sites for rvs have bad roads and unlevel sites. The upscale sites are in better shape, have more amenities and open sky for satellite reception. The older restrooms/showers are not well attended. Laundry facilities are worn and ill kept. Wifi is free but so slow it is unusable unless you use it when everyone is sleeping. This is a good place to stay while visiting the many attractions Atlanta has to offer. The Commons Restaurant managed by Marriott is in a beautiful setting and has excellent food. We enjoyed our stay here under the trees. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The site we had was very narrow but we did have a nice lake side site with a wooden deck and grill. We had 50 amp service but almost everyday the breaker blew and we had to reset all our electronics. Our neighbors fire pit was set up right under our bedroom slideout. Fortunately he had no problem moving it to the back of his camper. The wifi was terribly slow, so slow that it was unusable. Cable was good. Stime Mountain park is huge and great for a lenghty stay if you get the right site. We would stay again. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely campsite overlooking the lake. We noticed a lot of the sites, as positioned, were uneven and would be hard to level on. Our campsite had the previous camper's leftover beer caps and cardboard beer container left on site. Not so pleasant! The asphalt that runs through the park is old and has a lot of cracks and lumps. It would be nice if they would repave everything. The park was beautiful to play in for all ages and we would go back! We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Stone Mountain Campground was very nice. I liked being close to the general store, playground, and grassy play area for kids. If you don't like noise during daytime hours don't stay on this loop. Lots of kids playing outside. The site was flat which made it easy to set up. The other loops are very, very hilly and unlevel. The only negative is the wifi speed or better terms lack of. Campground is about 30 minutes from Atlanta. Call ahead for directions to campground. Do not follow gps unless you want to haul your rv or tt through neighborhoods in Stone Mountain. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice campground! We came for the Snow Mountain event (Okay it's snow for us Floridan's!) We camped next to a big playground with 2 climbing areas, volleyball court, horse shoe pit and bean bag toss (Pool as well but it was a little cold for that) and our kids (8 and 10) loved it, they were able to make new friends with other kids staying there. We hiked to the top of the Stone Mountain, do not miss this, it is an amzing view! We found the campground to be one of the best we have been to. Our site was spacious and very level and backed up to the lake. It was an amazing view of the sunset over the lake. Just a picture perfect setting by the campfire as the sun went down. One note be prepared to pay $15 just to enter the park! We felt that with reservations at the Campground this is an additional fee we were not aware of and one that had the feel of being unfair. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We live in the Atlanta area, so this is one of our local go-to spots. We've camped here 5 or 6 times; I have mixed feelings about the campground. Pros: Stone Mountain Park itself (not the campground) is a fun place to visit. Typically very clean with nice staff. Their Christmas lights are wonderful. The campground maintenance staff are very, very nice. Incredibly kind and helpful. The campground recently updated. The playground equipment which is very nice and the pool (while small) is well maintained. Most of the sites in the purple and orange loops are fairly level. Cons: The other loops, the level sites are hit and miss and some of the roads in those loops are very, very rough with large potholes and roots breaking up the asphalt. Some of the sites are very close together. Not a lot of privacy. The office staff can be very moody and rude. There is a gentleman who typically works in the small camp store when we visit... he is very nice. Biggest con for us, is price. In addition to your camp fee, there is also a $15 parking fee to enter the park or you can pay $40 for an annual parking pass. The parking pass is good for your entire stay, so you can come/go without paying each time. If another family campground opened up in the Atlanta area, one that offered a nice playground, pool and full hook-ups...our family would go there. As it stands now, Stone Mtn is the best we've got locally. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here in January 2017. We met many fellow Floridians camping here during the winter break from school. The campsite we picked overlooked the lake with Stone Mountain in the foreground. Very beautiful view. The site was a pull thru and was level. We were scheduled to stay for 5 nights, but bad winter stomrs were rolling in so we left 2 days early. Stone Mountain Campground does NOT give a refund for leaving early. They did give us a credit and is allowing us to return during the next 365 days to use the 2 days we did not use. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park. One of the nicest we have stayed in. Very organized, we had to register via late checking and they had put the length of the sites on the registration sheet. Small detail, but saves any late night surprises especially when having to set up in the dark. The park was not crowded because it was off season. We needed a quick overnight in the Atlanta area, but now vow to return. We stayed in the purple loop right beside a very nice playground. Bring cash if you are utilizing the after hours check in. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall one of the most scenic campground we have been too. Full Hook up with a range of sites from shaded, lake, pull thru, etc.. They had activities here for the kids for the Christmas Season. Rates depend HEAVILY on season, and can go up as much as 75% during holidays. Most of the rigs are well maintained, and more than 50% are upper scale. Entrance and Exit is easy! Easy access to Stone Mountain Campground (get at least 1 person to get the PLUS pass $100 cost and you get 20% off your stay and all activities/shirts/ etc at the mountain.) This is an amazing campground! And the hikes are incredible. Don't miss the hike around the little island as well as to the top of the Stone Mountain. We stayed here with our kids, 8 and 10 years old, and they loved it and made a lot of new friends. We found the campground to be one of the best we have been to. Our site was spacious and very level. The roads were in great condition! Don't mind the budget people complaining about prices just pay the parking and site fees and enjoy the experience. We enjoyed 4 nights here and did all the hikes and the Atlanta city pass. We did not do the adventure pass as it wasn't calling to us. You all must stay here when in the area! Thumbs up! We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is everything a campground should be. Wonderful friendly staff, loads of trees and trails, everything well maintained. I could go on and on. There are different loops - if you have particular requirements, be sure to call. One area is in the woods along the lake and is super for families who want to gather around the campfire. The other side is not as treed, but still surrounded by woods. Each site has a grill and fire ring and table, and all are in good condition. Add to the wonderful campground all of the things to do in this park - it is just one of the best places you will every camp. A tad pricey but worth every penny and then some. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is an a very picturesque location and has a very "woodsy" feel. We had to try three different sites in order to find one sufficiently level for our small motorhome. All in all we were very pleased with our two night stay. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The park is beautiful, but expensive for what you get. The paved roads are in bad shape, tree roots upheaving the roads. The spots are also paved but badly upheaved with roots. As for level, they are some of the most un level spaces we have ever seen. Bring lots of leveling blocks. The water and electric are good. We were disappointed that most of the attractions were closed this time of year. As another camper mentioned, even with the high price, you still have to pay the $15 parking fee for the car. We will not be back. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our third time staying here as it is the only park we knew about near Atlanta that offers cable TV and Wi-Fi. However, their Wi-Fi is and always has been less than desireable. The first night there was no connection. Apparently there are two other parks near Atlanta that also offer cable TV and Wi-Fi, which are Stone Mountain Heights Mobile Home Park and Atlanta Marietta Campground. There isn't anyone from the park around after 7PM, so nothing could be done. The following morning they advised me the Wi-Fi went out between 6PM and 8:15AM the following morning. Even then it is spotty a connection. And we were in a Premium spot (extra money). Go to enjoy the scenery and TV, but don't expect to look at your computer very often. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.
