Stone Mountain Campground was very nice. I liked being close to the general store, playground, and grassy play area for kids. If you don't like noise during daytime hours don't stay on this loop. Lots of kids playing outside. The site was flat which made it easy to set up. The other loops are very, very hilly and unlevel. The only negative is the wifi speed or better terms lack of. Campground is about 30 minutes from Atlanta. Call ahead for directions to campground. Do not follow gps unless you want to haul your rv or tt through neighborhoods in Stone Mountain. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park. One of the nicest we have stayed in. Very organized, we had to register via late checking and they had put the length of the sites on the registration sheet. Small detail, but saves any late night surprises especially when having to set up in the dark. The park was not crowded because it was off season. We needed a quick overnight in the Atlanta area, but now vow to return. We stayed in the purple loop right beside a very nice playground. Bring cash if you are utilizing the after hours check in. This is an amazing campground! And the hikes are incredible. Don't miss the hike around the little island as well as to the top of the Stone Mountain. We stayed here with our kids, 8 and 10 years old, and they loved it and made a lot of new friends. We found the campground to be one of the best we have been to. Our site was spacious and very level. The roads were in great condition! Don't mind the budget people complaining about prices just pay the parking and site fees and enjoy the experience. We enjoyed 4 nights here and did all the hikes and the Atlanta city pass. We did not do the adventure pass as it wasn't calling to us. You all must stay here when in the area! Thumbs up! We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is everything a campground should be. Wonderful friendly staff, loads of trees and trails, everything well maintained. I could go on and on. There are different loops - if you have particular requirements, be sure to call. One area is in the woods along the lake and is super for families who want to gather around the campfire. The other side is not as treed, but still surrounded by woods. Each site has a grill and fire ring and table, and all are in good condition. Add to the wonderful campground all of the things to do in this park - it is just one of the best places you will every camp. A tad pricey but worth every penny and then some. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is an a very picturesque location and has a very "woodsy" feel. We had to try three different sites in order to find one sufficiently level for our small motorhome. All in all we were very pleased with our two night stay. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The park is beautiful, but expensive for what you get. The paved roads are in bad shape, tree roots upheaving the roads. The spots are also paved but badly upheaved with roots. As for level, they are some of the most un level spaces we have ever seen. Bring lots of leveling blocks. The water and electric are good. We were disappointed that most of the attractions were closed this time of year. As another camper mentioned, even with the high price, you still have to pay the $15 parking fee for the car. We will not be back. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our third time staying here as it is the only park we knew about near Atlanta that offers cable TV and Wi-Fi. However, their Wi-Fi is and always has been less than desireable. The first night there was no connection. Apparently there are two other parks near Atlanta that also offer cable TV and Wi-Fi, which are Stone Mountain Heights Mobile Home Park and Atlanta Marietta Campground. There isn't anyone from the park around after 7PM, so nothing could be done. The following morning they advised me the Wi-Fi went out between 6PM and 8:15AM the following morning. Even then it is spotty a connection. And we were in a Premium spot (extra money). Go to enjoy the scenery and TV, but don't expect to look at your computer very often. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Park has lovely views. Good full hookups. Interior roads are a bit rough. Some sites are very unlevel, but staff will help you get a good site when you make reservations. Our site was level and easy to back into, but had a huge drop off on the back and utility side because it overlooked the lake. Wild life is everywhere. A shuttle runs from the campground to the main activity area, if you don't want to drive. Great hiking trails too. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a beautiful Campground! Very clean and large sites. We were fortunate to get a lakeside lot. Free shuttle to the Stone Mountain attraction. Note: You will have to pay a one-time $15 parking fee to get into and park at the campground. We had a 50% discount with Passport America. Regular price was $56 per night. Worth it, though! There were lots of positives and negatives to this campsite, but overall our experience was a good one.

- The signage in the park is nonexistent. If you don't have a map, you will never know where the campground is. It is a couple of miles past the west entrance of the park.

- The park sent us an email a couple of days in advance reminding us of the low clearance level on the east gate and directions on how to get to the west gate. Nice action on their part.

- The roads inside the campgrounds are badly in need of repair. Driving slow is a must, even without the rig.

- Lots of sites, so look closely before you book. The sites are on hills, and elevation is not indicated, so it is easy to get one that is on a incline or low spot. We chose a site far from the office because it looked less crowded, not covered by trees and had a view of the lake. We had no problems backing in our 34' rig and satellite worked great.

- Forget WiFi. It never worked. Fortunately, Stone Mountain is close enough to Atlanta to get good cell coverage so we used our cellular data lines.

- The pool is small, but nice. We were lucky enough to be there mid-week after school started so it was completely empty. But it closes at 6. Why a campground would close a pool that early is beyond me.

- The shower / bathroom facilities were old and unattractive. One look and I never used them.

- There is the Stone Mountain entrance fee of $15 that is not included in the camping price. Irritating but to be expected.

- There is no better access to Stone Mountain Park than this campground. Despite the negatives, the sites are beautiful and it is really convenient to move around the park from this campground. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

My family and I stayed here the required 2 night minimum on our return trip from Florida. Access to the campground is easy and internal roads were a mix of paved and gravel that were easy to navigate. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a newer section of the campground that was close to Stone Mountain Lake and contained yurts and new park model RVs for rent. We tried to use the pool that was nearby but arrived after is had closed for the day. It looked clean and well maintained. Stone Mountain has its own adventure park that is about 1.5 miles from the campground and is accessible by either car (free parking is available) or a shuttle. We spent the entire day there and ended the day with their laser show that is projected onto the face of Stone Mountain where the likenesses of Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis are carved. It is a popular event so arrive early to get a good spot. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park and setting. Heavily treed with sites tucked in the woods. Our site was tight and close to neighbors and had barely enough room for our tow vehicle. The park itself was full and busy, check in was a breeze. Have to pay $15 entry fee on top of the campground rate. We used this as a base to see things in the area, its a little on the outskirts of Atlanta but not any nice options we could find in town. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We loved staying in this park, but there are improvements that need to be made. We stayed in two lots - 348A and 3. Both had pros and cons. We loved staying here for the most part.

348A was great for privacy and was HUGE. We needed some rest and relaxation and it was great for that. However, don't think of using Direct TV here. It won't work. It was great for the big rig except for tree branches.

3 was great to meet other people and we enjoyed it more there. Again, huge lot.

This park is more enjoyable during the weekdays than weekends. During weekends you get a lot of "weekenders" who don't understand basic politeness in camping. You won't meet friendly people on the weekends.

There are some loops where the pavement is almost gone and pretty hilly. Stick to Orange or Purple loops, with exception of Red 348A which is off the main road and very easy to get in/out.

The worst part is coming/going from the park. You pay one $15 fee to get in and you get a pass. That said, if you leave and only one booth is open, you have to wait...and wait...and wait to enter the park.

The fireworks got old. Skip the lasershow and "dinner" that is basically an overpriced picnic.

That said, for being so close to Atlanta, this was a great park. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The booths are kind of tight for a big rig for entry to the park. Stay away from pull throughs which honestly are more trouble than they are worth and aren't well-paved. Avoid the lasershow/fireworks.
