This campground needs some TLC. Coming into park at ranger check-in/gate was tight!! I don't think I had 4" of clearance going thru the gate. Roads in the campground are bumpy. The large majority of sites are not level. Some sites have full hook-ups and some have water and electric. The maintenance people need to pick up the campground litter. I'm not saying there is a ton but way to much. This campground has fantastic views of the lake from just about anywhere. This campground could be a nine 9 or 10 if some effort was made on my suggestions. I really wish a better score could be given. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

So nice with lovely setting by lake. Great to have cable TV and Wi-Fi! Will be coming here again! We are in the area from Knoxville area for the dog shows at the Atlanta Expo Center. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.
Antique shops nearby as well as Walmart, Wendy's...the things you need when you're from out of town.

This is Georgia's version of Fort Wilderness in Florida! Our third time here and it didn't disappoint. Staff treats you like family! We had the Snow Mountain Camping package - tickets to Stone Mountain during their Snow events, two nights of camping (we stayed four), firewood and s'mores. Great value and fun. Took day trips into Atlanta and surrounding areas. Will return for more memories and fun! We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo

The park could have two different ratings if it were possible. One area had very well paved roads, deck for grilling, but those sites have limited tree cover and not as nice of a view. The other area has not as nice paved roads, some uneven sites, smaller sites, lots of tree cover, and nice views. We stayed in the nice view sites and even though the sites were smaller our 39' DP had enough room for the slides, the car, and a nice area for the camp fire. When you enter the campground they do have wood available if your sites is too unlevel to your liking. Staff was very nice and helpful as we arrived after 10:30 PM and the camp host made himself available to assist us in getting into our site. Walking, canoeing, kayaking, camp fires should be your plan of the day if you stay. Restrooms and showers were dated but very clean and well kept, as was all of the facilities at the park. The Wi-Fi was very weak at times which was a little frustrating. Overall the park was very nice and could be a higher rating if the roads weren't as bumpy and the Wi-Fi was better. Also, if you arrive on a weekend and there are no water sites available be sure to ask if there are any available after the weekend. We unfortunately did not ask, and no one offered, and during the week we stayed there were plenty of water sites available. We did not go to the amusement part of the park as we were there for a conference in Atlanta. We will definitely stay there again. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Beautiful surroundings. Nice campground. Lots to do in the area. Roads a bit rough but manageable. Restrooms were nice. Office staff were helpful. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo

The only thing keeping this from being a 10 is the conditions of the interior roads and lack of site cleaning. The roads are bumpy and have root heaves and pot holes. While the roads are kept clean and free of tree debris, the sites look like they have never seen a rake. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Booked the package deal offered with the attractions so actual price per night might be different. Great site, level hook ups great and the best water pressure ever. Used the shuttle to the attractions which was very nice. Very nice place and great people. will return if in the area We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $48.00
Rate reflects Good Sam's and Passport America discounts. We were limited on sites due to the size of our 43' rig. Large sites are level and spacious but some smaller sites are not. Staff is helpful when selecting sites. The 'convenience' factor of staying in the Park is great. We would stay here again. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Nothing makes me madder than a campground advertising they have internet service when they really don't. It was available, but took over 10 mins for a browser page to even load. VERY POOR. Sites are close together and needed paving. The staff was GREAT! Very friendly and helpful and bath houses were clean. The bus schedules were not adhered to. Nightly rate is averaged to include first night Passport America rate. Some of the camp loop roads are in worse shape than others. Stayed in site 389, lakefront on "O" loop. Direct lake access and a view of Stone Mtn. Entrance to "O/P" loop road is STEEP. Exit from "O/P" loop road has a tight right turn with a tree on the passenger side and likely a rig on the driver's side. Go as wide as possible and hope you don't hit anything. Many sites are uneven with broken asphalt. Quiet park, good Wi-Fi, good antenna reception (some loops have cable and full hookups, some have only water/elctric). If you plan to hike to the top of Stone Mtn, drive yourself to the trailhead. The shuttle schedule is not conducive to hiking the trail. Have stayed here multiple times. The staff is professional and helpful. The sites are clean and well maintained. Plenty to do on the mountain. Will visit again. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Tent Trailer.Undo

Rate reflects 2 night stay with Passport America 50% off 1st night. We had a back in site that was easy to park the 40' rig. Pool was very nice. We did not partake in any of the Stone Mountain activities. We were in town to go to the Georgia Aquarium. Beautiful park. Very clean. Be sure you come in the east gate. We will return if were in the area. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Staff is friendly, but any discounts must be requested at time of check in and registration. Staff did not ask if we qualified for any discounts. Some sites are gravel and others are black top, but leveling may be a challenge on some sights. Our site had the black top heaving up in 2 areas. This made placement of landing gear crucial. There are low hanging tree branches in areas so be sure to look up. Scenery is beautiful and park is very quiet and relaxing listening to the many song birds. Most sites are back in, and backing is easy if you do not get a blind side site. Staying here again is a realistic possibility. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This was our second time at the campground and we were only passing thru this time and stayed 1 night. The staff was very friendly and gave recommendations when we were choosing our spot. We had a nice long shaded pull-thru with full hookups and didn't have to unhook our towed vehicle. This is a beautiful campground with lots of kid/family activities, and we enjoy staying here. The campground itself has a few twists and turns as expected in such a lovely scenic area. Our site did not have cable but an adorable campfire ring made up of stones plus a grill! There is a lot to do if you'd like to go and about in the Stone Mtn park or have young children but great for just relaxing too. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo
