Park staff/host not overly friendly or helpful. Never answered phone. Campground roads are very narrow with low hanging branches for our 45 foot Motorhome. Glad we unhitched toad at entrance. We chose site number 42, which was fairly level, had some low hanging branches that park maintenance came and trimmed for us. Nicely shaded until about 4 pm. Large concrete picnic table and fire ring, which we used. Did not use bath house facilities. Location within 30 minutes of Chattooga River and wineries. About an hour drive to Blue Ridge Pkwy. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Sites were maintained and clean, the host was very friendly and seen frequently. Additionally, noticed a blower being used to blow the fall leaves off the sites. The bathrooms were clean, except on occasion, an odor was prevalent. Showers were good.

Very tight quarters on the camp site, with little privacy while in the abode, everyone was friendly though and seemed to enjoy the campground.

Overall quiet, except for the highway noise and the active speed trap blitz in progress. Thanksgiving holidays were poignant with police sirens literally every five minutes as ticket revenue increased the local coffers.

Tallulah Gorge is stunning and truly needs to be seen and experienced first hand. The experience will remain as pleasant and need repetitive visits in the future. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

As others have noted, this park has only recently been taken over by the state from Georgia Power. Some work has been done, but, there is a great deal more needed. There are no grey water dumps anywhere. Most sites are in big need of re-leveling. Water is very discolored with rust, but great pressure. Restrooms are very dated and in need of updating. Campground host had very poor attitude, park ranger said he was very overworked. Our ADA site and all other pull-thru sites were nicely paved, but terribly unlevel, our 30ft motorhome had a 10 inch drop from back to front before leveling. The gorge and waterfalls are beautiful. Hiking trails well maintained. Park is close to many Northern Georgia sights and attractions. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice wooded 50 site park. Price was 26.00 for tents and 32.00 for rv's. Two clean bathrooms with showers. No sewer, but dump station at exit. Water and 30/50 amp at each site. Very wooded, so to get satellite to work one will need to be selective when choosing their site. The check in system allows campers to select their own site which is nice. Camp hosts sell firewood and ice ($5 & $2). There is a trail to the interpretive center where 100 permits a day are available allowing hiking to the gorge floor. Park is well maintained and sites are nice and clean. Each site has picnic table and fire ring. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Super Walmart just north on 441 for supplies. Good local type restaurants with live music on weekends and good craft beer selection in nearby Clayton. 100 permits per day issued to hike gorge floor, pick up at interpretive center by 8am.

I have been staying here for several years. Now the State has taken over the campground from Georgia Power. Well run a few changes, nothing negative. They have sites to accommodate all size motor homes and travel trailers. All RV sites have 50/30 amp service along with water. A dump station is in the exit lane of the park. East access from US 441 in Tallulah Falls, Georgia. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The park itself is beautiful. We could not ask for better prettier scenery. We stayed for three nights and the restrooms/bathhouses not only needed cleaning but were also never stocked with hand soap or toilet paper. When checking in the staff was complaining about the person in line in front of us trying to purchase a souvenir t-shirt for their child. Campsites were clean but road noise was a constant bother when sitting outside. We love staying at Georgia State Parks but this one was very disappointing. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We found the access from HWY 23 easy and two parking spots to register with a very helpful and friendly office attendant that explained the Georgia State Park pass and that cash only is accepted. Then we ventured via the narrow interior road to our very level and tight fully paved pull thru to realize that the assigned site would not allow our slides to be put out. Finally, after much maneuvering we found site 42 would work because of different tree spacing . In after thought, I believe the back in sites have more width for slides. We had highway noise but not disturbing and water was very lightly discolored. Power is strong. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

First off, this review is about the campground, NOT the park itself. The park and the Gorge is beautiful, well maintained and just amazing. The campground is not run by the State of Georgia - it is run by Georgia Power Company. While the campground is very clean with level sites, they are on top of each other. You basically look at another camper. Others have also pointed out the problems with the location of electrical and water hookups. Most disappointing was the volunteer campground host! As we checked in, he said he wished there were no tent campers, no dogs and no one under the age of 50; they are trouble makers. The sites are assigned, and although we had made reservations months prior, he admitted moving us from several other better sites to what we thought to be the least desirable space on the whole campground. He said he did that because other people were staying longer. When I asked to be moved because I was unhappy with the site, he was rude and said "This may not be the place for you - do you want your money back and go somewhere else?" We were able to talk him into letting us move but will not come back here. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice sites for big rig, we are in a 40' motorhome and no problem getting in towing our car. Have stayed here several times and always make it a stop. Great access to the Tallulah Falls trails and Nature Center. Have ALWAYS had great camp host. A gem hidden from most! We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Absolutely beautiful campground! The sites are large and plenty of room for slideouts and awnings. They have hiking paths and overlooks to see the beautiful waterfalls. Beach area for swimming, large playground for children. Paved pull-through sites for very large MHs and tow. We are excited to camp here again when it gets cooler weather. First time here, on a whim so without reservations. They do not accept credit cards, just cash or checks. Sites are assigned. They have pull thru's for bigger rigs. We were in a regular site, bit too close to my neighbor for my taste. But I guess for shorter stays it is fine. Restrooms were clean and heated. Staff was very helpful. Of course the biggest advantage is the proximity to the gorge and falls. They are awesome! We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Pros: Reasonable rate (reflects senior discount). Pleasant staff. Many sites paved & mostly level. Lots of trees. Good electricity. Some sites very spacious, others not (consult park map). Cons: Water initially okay but became very rusty. Clogged our intake filter. Roads can be tight, esp. for bigger rigs. Dump is convenient but more than one rig in line blocks the exit from the park. Some of the newer pull-throughs are tight & close together (again, check map). Some truck noise from highway but not loud and little traffic at night -- not a bother. All in all, a bargain. We will return. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A lot of upgrades are going on at this park. All the sites have new water and electric, so no more sharing of the electric pedestal. There are several pull-throughs that are fully paved. The other sites are gravel, but look new. The pull-through sites must be about 75-80 feet long! There are also 2 washers and dryers. The camp hosts were very friendly and when we pointed out a low branch, they immediately sent someone over to trim it. The roads are a little narrow, but very navigable. No low branches hanging down. The dump station is well placed, directly in the path as you leave. Both AT&T and Verizon had voice and data signal. The gate is locked at 10 PM, if that matters to anyone. We camped at Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
