Older Park, small roads, some sites are very tight. Sites on southern side of Fort Ave have no shade. Walking distance to river and beach, restaurants, lighthouse. Overall great location, but the only game in town, thus the price. Clean facilities, friendly staff. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gerald's Pig & Shrimp and The Crab Shack were the best of all restaurants visited. Walking distance to Savannah River and beach saves a lot of money as all of Tybee Island is Park and Pay at a rate of $2.00 per hour.

Overall Rating:

This is our third stay here. Prices continue to rise but, though tight, the sites are well kept and the staff is kind and attentive. With recent storms, they have lost many trees which is unfortunate. But there are still plenty of interior sites with shade trees. The sites are all white stone. Easiest for walking outdoors if you bring an outside carpet. We had a fire pit and a small picnic table that seated 4, plenty for us. Other sites with a bit more room had a bigger table. We watched staff daily going site to site, examining electric hookups and replacing any that seemed worn, painting picnic tables, and keeping the grounds clean. They are diligent at staying ahead of any repairs. Bathrooms/showers were very nice and clean, with plenty of room, some large enough for a family to use together. The on-site store has a wide variety of goods and an ATM. Two people are at the desk and all arrivals are met and escorted to their site by staff. It is a short walk to North Beach, the Lighthouse and Museum. We rented a golf cart and got around the island and beaches beautifully for a week. You'll feel very safe as the police station is right after the campground. There is a little traffic but speed limit is only 25 so noise is at a minimum. No doubt, this is not an inexpensive place. But, we love the island and camping and are always treated so well here. We will return again. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is oddly laid out, but adequate site space. Roads are narrow & not designed for motor home maneuvers. Staff in office not the friendliest, actually rude at times, but I didn't need to deal with them thankfully. They guys who do the work on the grounds very friendly. Only CG on Tybee Island. Interior roads are tight. The layout is very rambling which leads to different spacing for different sites, even those adjacent to each other. The back-ins seemed to provide the most space, although it was not much more. Very clean and all interactions with the staff were great. Close to the beach, and ~20 minutes to Savannah. This is the only campground on lovely Tybee Island. It is beautifully laid out and well maintained. Staff are super helpful. The campground is a quick walk to the beach and lighthouse. It is municipally owned and located on the same campus as the dog parks and the police. However, we never were bothered by either. It was a busy St. Patrick's Day weekend, and yet we didn't feel crowded. Some of the sites pull through to the city street. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Coco's Restaurant has local shrimp which are delish. The Crab Shack is a hoot. There is a local shrimp and bbq open air restaurant not far from the campground which is quite yummy. You pay for parking EVERYWHERE on the island, so use your feet or bicycles as much as you can to get around. There is an IGA grocery on the island that does have free parking for while you shop. The beach is really beautiful!

This is not a campground for hanging around, it is a place for parking your rig while you go exploring. We only had 2 days so we opted to stay on Tybee Island else we might have made time to see it. It was fine for us. We did some exploring on the island but when it turned rainy we went back to the campground and we took advantage of their excellent wifi. The next day we were gone all day to Savannah, returning to the campground after dark. For me, the full hook ups, wifi and convenient location made the price worthwhile. We did get a 25% discount for our first night, a weeknight in the off season. So the price reflects the average for a full hook up, including one night of discount. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is free parking at the visitor's center and at the trolley depot. We took the trolley tour, and thought it was worthwhile. It's a good way to see the highlights and you can hop off and back on - so you can spend the whole day with free parking. But I'm guessing in season you will have to arrive there early.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in site 104A, a back-in site that wouldn't have ever been our first choice. However, it turned out to be great! Tight site with a storm drain dip that was tough to back-in after dark on a rainy night but it faced a nice grassy area granting considerable privacy. The office staff was nice; the store was nicely stocked. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach (both the river side and north beach side). We loved walking to Tybean Coffee & Art Bar for morning coffee and Hucapoos for evening pizza and beer. Gerald's Pig and Shrimp would have been lovely to walk to, but they were closed for the week. Overall, we had a great stay ... we booked to return! However, plan ahead for prime season stays ... options for summer over six months away were already very limited! We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Before we get into the goods and the bads let me say that this is a very TIGHT campground. We were lucky enough to get site #92 at the very end and had a lot of room (the only one that I could see). We were right on the main road and there was a lot of traffic. The girls in the office were very nice and helpful. We got a parking pass so we could go into town and park. The pass for 2 days is $20. Beats feeding the parking meters. There are meters on the roads in front of homes. The park is very clean, pea gravel on the sites, fire rings and picnic tables on each. I did check out the laundry. $2.50 to wash, $2 to dry. Very clean. One plus is they escort you to your site. Saw several signs on the road into the island that stated water could cover the road at high tide. I don't know if we would come back again as it's several miles from Savannah. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Positives First - Campground is very clean, quiet, and well lit at night. Pool was great. Staff kept all the sites clean and well maintained. Easy walking distance to the beach. Negatives - Limited grassy areas to walk large dogs. Wifi was often not working. Sites are extremely close together with limited parking for your vehicle. Many sites are in full sun. Expensive campground, but the only one on Tybee. The city dog parks are connected to the campground, but they can only be described as adequate and very sparse. Overall - We would stay there again and recommend it to others. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Rivers End Campground has much to be desired, and the demeanor of their staff will make you feel very unwelcome. Let me start by saying that it was not my first choice to stay on Tybee Island to begin with, but we had some family coming to visit from Arizona with only two months notice which did not provide ample time to get a campsite at Jekyll Island which is where we have always had great experiences. I had heard nice things about Tybee Island, and thought that it was close enough we could still check out Jekyll with our family at least one of the days we were going to be there. However, Rivers End Campground managed to not only ruin our vacation experience with them, but to also ruin our day at Jekyll by forcing us to return early so they could swipe our card before they closed that day despite the fact that we offered to give them the number over the phone or come by the next morning since we were still going to be there a couple more nights. Out of fear that they would have our RV towed because the person who checked us in did not swipe our card when they checked us in, we cut our day at Jekyll short and missed out on most of the things we planned to do. Not to mention the rudeness and hostility we encountered by the staff from pre-arrival questions to the time we departed left us feeling as if we were an inconvenience for the staff by our mere presence despite us paying nearly $300 for a 4 night stay. Overall we had a terrible experience with Rivers End from the get go and will never return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed 3 nights, and had been here before. It has very good Wifi and cable. The area is a perfect for biking all around Tybee. The park has a very nice pool area, and the staff is helpful. It is close to the beach. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but location, location, location. It is an easy drive to Savannah, which we did both time we stayed. A very excellent, but expensive restaurant is Sundaes. It doesn't look like much on the outside, and is in a small strip mall, but the food was excellent. Dinner was very high, if we go again, it will be for lunch. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
