Positives First - Campground is very clean, quiet, and well lit at night. Pool was great. Staff kept all the sites clean and well maintained. Easy walking distance to the beach. Negatives - Limited grassy areas to walk large dogs. Wifi was often not working. Sites are extremely close together with limited parking for your vehicle. Many sites are in full sun. Expensive campground, but the only one on Tybee. The city dog parks are connected to the campground, but they can only be described as adequate and very sparse. Overall - We would stay there again and recommend it to others. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 3 nights, and had been here before. It has very good Wifi and cable. The area is a perfect for biking all around Tybee. The park has a very nice pool area, and the staff is helpful. It is close to the beach. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but location, location, location. It is an easy drive to Savannah, which we did both time we stayed. A very excellent, but expensive restaurant is Sundaes. It doesn't look like much on the outside, and is in a small strip mall, but the food was excellent. Dinner was very high, if we go again, it will be for lunch. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rivers End Campground has much to be desired, and the demeanor of their staff will make you feel very unwelcome. Let me start by saying that it was not my first choice to stay on Tybee Island to begin with, but we had some family coming to visit from Arizona with only two months notice which did not provide ample time to get a campsite at Jekyll Island which is where we have always had great experiences. I had heard nice things about Tybee Island, and thought that it was close enough we could still check out Jekyll with our family at least one of the days we were going to be there. However, Rivers End Campground managed to not only ruin our vacation experience with them, but to also ruin our day at Jekyll by forcing us to return early so they could swipe our card before they closed that day despite the fact that we offered to give them the number over the phone or come by the next morning since we were still going to be there a couple more nights. Out of fear that they would have our RV towed because the person who checked us in did not swipe our card when they checked us in, we cut our day at Jekyll short and missed out on most of the things we planned to do. Not to mention the rudeness and hostility we encountered by the staff from pre-arrival questions to the time we departed left us feeling as if we were an inconvenience for the staff by our mere presence despite us paying nearly $300 for a 4 night stay. Overall we had a terrible experience with Rivers End from the get go and will never return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Pricey, but the only game in town. Not really anything to complain about. We only stayed for one night but enjoyed the pool and the beach. They have a decent little gift shop too. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We chose this location because we heard about Tybee Island on an episode of "Beachfront Bargain Hunt" and wanted to experience it in person. The island is also close to Savannah and about 100 miles from Jekyll Island and we visited both during our four night stay. This is the only campground on Tybee Island and was the most expensive park we stayed at during our 18 day trip ($79.00 per night). The park was okay. Let me start by saying the staff was outstanding in their knowledge and attentiveness. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. Full hook-up sites are available. The positioning of units was odd with little room between them. Pull-through sites exit the park directly on to the city street. Our pull-in site was in what looked like a circle on the park map but was more of an oval with all the units pulled straight in with their noses at varying distances from each other. I thought it appeared that we had all been in a race to park at our site. Some older reviews I read thought the park was little more than a parking lot but I enjoyed the trees and small spots of grass. There is a large pool, a laundry facility, nice bathhouses with separate rooms containing a shower, toilet and sink, and there are two beaches within walking distance. If you are able-bodied and can walk to those beaches and nearby shops and restaurants you can save yourself the $2.00 per hour parking fee that is collected everywhere on the island. The island offers bike and golf cart rentals as well but it still costs $2.00 per hour to park the golf carts. Tybee Island has at least one colony of feral cats. Some residents seem to hate them and others love them and feed them. From my research it seems there are occasional efforts to trap, neuter and release the cats so the population of them is decreasing. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sugar Shack served good breakfast. Our favorite restaurant experience in years was our dinner at Bubba Gumbo's. Out of the way and a little sketchy looking but don't let that stop you. The staff, atmosphere, music selections, and food are top notch including their chef from the Isle of Skye, Scotland! Not open every day so check hours of operation.

First off you pay a premium to be near the beach. Web site states that there is construction behind the campground and the construction is directly behind sites 121 to 128. Luckily, I was there during a long weekend and there was no noise from the construction site. All utilities worked fine. Wi-fi was weak and dropped a lot. Satellite is possible in some sites but the trees are an issue. Some are the sites are very close together. Roads are asphalt and sites are gravel. My site was level. Nice park run by the city of Tybee. We have stayed there off and on over the last 5 years. Only problem this year was Storm Matthew. We had to evacuate two days prior to the end of our stay. No refund but maybe they will give us the 2 extra days if we stay within a year - hint, hint!! We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our experience here was all positive. Workers were polite, our site hookups worked well, the campground is kept in an almost immaculate condition. The location is perfect on Tybee Island and a quick trip into Savannah.

The campground looks nice with cute green picnic tables, palm trees and lots of white gravel. The public buildings and facilities are all kept nicely and add to the nice looks.

While there are a few exceptions, the campsites are tight in that most are separated only by their boundaries from other sites. Our preferred site was next to a regular site. Our sewer hook up couldn't have been more than 10 feet from their front door. We angled our camper so that we could use our fire pit and allow our neighbor to use theirs.

The park is surrounded by the public works department, police station and 2 roads. Despite this, the campground is inviting and well run. Just don't be fooled into thinking sprawling sites unless you get one of the few. When the place filled for the weekend, navigating could be quite tricky. We lucked out on that, but trust me, some sites would have you maneuvering for a while.

Take advantage of both the river and ocean beaches. They are convenient to the park. Bikes or golf cart are great: you can avoid driving entirely.

Our site was not level but many are. Currently there is a several stories tall well drilling operation going on behind site 124 (our site!). It's tolerable.

Restrooms are cleaned twice daily, maybe not the most modern but perfectly useable. Pool doesn't open until 11am, may not matter to most but did to us. Dog park areas available.

Beware of feral cats. Cute to look at but will get into garbage or food left out.

Price seems quite high, but no real complaints so overall worth it, and kudos for keeping such nice grounds and facilities.

Usually we would have marked preferred sites, but this is a tough place to do it. They make the best of the tight sites. We were lucky in that ours had easy space to maneuver in/out.

Tybee is a great destination. So glad we came! We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We would most definitely stay here over and over again. The ground is clean, friendly and feels safe. The beach is awesome and in walking or bike riding distance. We actually ran into an issue while packing up, had to run out and ran 3 hours past checkout. But we informed the staff and they worked with us no hassle at all and were not charged any extra fees. I would recommend this site to everyone. It is reasonably priced and WELL WORTH IT. Just stock up on bug spray, the gnats are wild. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow, this place was perfect for our getaway to Tybee & Savannah. Yes it looks to be a little close for some sites and we were right on the road but we like the location. Very convenient walk to River Beach, you could walk to North Beach but we took the quick drive as opposed to carrying everything. Staff was very helpful getting us to our sites and in and friendly when we were in the office, even communicating to us the paving of the road they were doing at the time. Easy in and out to get to the main part of the island and Savannah. We would definitely go back again!! We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The spaces are close, but its on an island so you would expect that. We had fairly good wifi at the site and cell service was great-(we have ATT). The sites are gravel and mostly level. They ask for your camper measurements and find a suitable size site based on that. We did not have an assigned site prior to arrival. We loved this park. Very shaded and dog friendly. Two dog parks adjacent tot he park. Close bike to the beach/resturants despite the park feeling remote. Run by the town and they do a good job. Nice pool area. A little expensive but worth it due to the location.

Initially they had lost our reservation and person who confirmed was no longer there/new software. They got us into a site we liked better than original one after a little bit. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We do not have a tow vehicle and there is not an option to select this.....

The Shriners and American Legion invite campers to their dinners.

Go if you can!! What a kick and we met people in their 90s who grew up on the island. Had lots of fun at the yummy Shriners meal.

Breakfast - have to try the Breakfast Club downtown. It is a classic.

River's End is quite nice overall, paved paths, mostly tree-covered with old oaks and pines, with coarse white gravel as site material (which we think was wonderful), picnic table, fire ring/grill combo, good utilities, cable, and so-so Wi-Fi, with good Verizon signal. It's also close to the lighthouse, the beach, and other sights (but still a good idea to rent a golf cart, or use your bike, if you want to see the entire island). They have a dog park, great store, TV/lounge area, fitness center, laundry room, private bathroom/showers, beautiful pool -- everything was spic and span --and the staff were friendly and always busy cleaning, trimming, etc. Cable channel selection wasn't great. Our site (#25) was mostly level and all the neighbors were nice. Propane and firewood were available for purchase. We have a small 26-motorhome and had no trouble, but we saw a lot of big rigs having to use a lot of finesse to get into their spots. Sites are close together, but did not feel crowded because we had a larger-than-normal gap to our starboard side. There was a lot of activity (RVers coming in/out for short stays) but it wasn't too bothersome. We very much enjoyed our week there and would visit again, but it was a bit pricey. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small C/G. Had to disconnect tow vehicle at office. Tight spaces. Gravel (mostly level) sites. Picnic table, fire ring (didn't use-too close to the people beside us). Fenced in dog park for 20lb or less dogs. Ours were over the weight limit, but it didn't seem to be used very much. We used it it a lot and were never told to vacate premises. C/G staff escort you to your spot, and deliver wood, etc. to your site. Highly recommend renting a golf cart to see the island or ride bicycle. $2/hr parking everywhere on the island. Walking distance to beaches as mentioned in previous reviews. Bath house needs updating, but was clean. Didn't use pool, too cold at the time. It was also clean. Would stay here again. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is on the north end of the Tybee Island. The spaces are very close to each other. Lots of big trees covered with Spanish moss. The campground staff was super nice and accommodating. They even escort you to your space and help you into the site. We had full hookups including cable T.V. The campground store sells firewood, propane and all the little things that you forgot. The campground WiFi was very slow and almost unusable. This campground is owned by the city of Tybee Island and they were making landscaping improvements while we were there. It's a pretty nice place to stay and very convenient to the rest of the island. We will go back. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We rented a golf cart right there at the campground and used it to travel around the island. If you use your vehicle, they charge you $2 per hour to park anywhere on the island. I guess it's their way to milk the tourists.
