Very nice. Hidden gem. Went in January. Only two campers in park. Quiet. Scenic. Used as one night stopover. Would like to have stayed longer. Would come again. Sites at waters edge. Tho it is dirt, mud to Waters edge depending on elev of the water, it was low at this time. We camped at R. Shaefer Heard Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here twice, one night each, going to and from our final destination. What a find! Almost all sites are lake front or lake view. Some are elevated quite a ways above the waterline, however. Some have wooden decks. All sites seemed quite spacious, and many were very private. Driveways are gravel, with concrete pads. Some sites had 50 amp. The lake looked good for fishing, and next time we will bring our 6-man inflatable and try it out. Sunsets were beautiful, and campfires were wonderful. Truly enjoyed our stay both nights. We camped at R. Shaefer Heard Park in a Motorhome.

Older COE park, but a beautiful park for camping. The COE parks are always a good value. Most sites are right on the water. Some, but not all have stand-up grills along with fire rings, picnic table and a lantern hanger. Check in was easy with a genuinely friendly gate keeper. Some of the sites have a narrow approach drive, mostly in the 75-90 sites. Pay attention to the maximum ;ength when reserving, it really means something in this park! We will return. We camped at R. Shaefer Heard Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very Nice Campgrounds. Almost every site has water frontage. The only thing I didn't like was there is only one playground for this huge park and is to far away from most of the sites and the road is a little to busy for small kids to ride their bikes to and that is why I only gave them a 8. Please don't forget the kids bikes and if your kids are going to play in the water please make them wear there life jackets. My kids fuss with me about it but you can sometimes walk 100 feet before getting over your head and then sometimes it is only 5 feet. Also remember to bring your ant spray in summer months. The bath houses are clean and have a lot of pressure and warm water but could use some cosmetic updating. We camped at R. Shaefer Heard Park in a Travel Trailer.
