Site 12: pull thru, level, paved, long. No sewer. Camp host sent us the wrong way going in to our site. Fortunately, there was room and road to make a turn then back up to get lined up for the site. Camp host leaving was clueless regarding narrow, single exit lane and low limbs and trying to protect our rig. Intended to exit via the entrance since it has two lanes and it was early enough that there was no incoming traffic. The camp host could not understand. Very aggravating! So the last 2 minutes of our stay left a bad taste. Gates in and out are locked from 10:30 PM until 7:30 AM which was a little discomforting regarding safety. I pray no one has a need for an ambulance or firetruck between those hours. A delay in opening the gate could mean life or death. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice COE park on the water. Premium sites along the waterfront cost more. Many pull-throughs, only two sites have sewer and they're both back-ins. Paved roads, paved sites, easy access for big rigs. Our site would be shady once the trees fully leaf out, but things were still a bit bare the first week of April. That meant we could see the lake, though! Very quiet at night. There's a day-use area with a large beach, and a marina within biking distance with a nice little bar and grill. The men's bathrooms could use a bit more attention, hubby said they were filthy with feces that needed to be cleaned before he could use the toilet. Not the hosts' fault, probably people who aren't monitoring their children, but if that's going to be the case then perhaps they should be checked/cleaned more often. The ladies side was fine, clean and really good water pressure in the shower. Overall a very nice COE campground. We would return, it's fairly close to Atlanta if you needed to do stuff in the city. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sunset Grille at the marina is a nice place to sit on the deck and have a drink and a snack or sandwich while looking at the lake. Civilization is nearby, there's a Walmart less than 5 miles away and plenty of places to eat and shop.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice and wooded campground on the lake. There are lots of trees so not many sites have a clear view of the lake, but you can see the lake through the trees and there is easy access to it. The sites are spacious and have plenty of privacy thanks to the trees. The camp hosts are very nice as well. Verizon worked okay there, but with our booster it was better. AT&T actually worked better than Verizon. The only thing we did not like about this campground is it felt like we had a curfew. They lock the gate so you can't get in or out between 9pm and 7am. Not only does that seem unsafe in case of emergencies, but it's also inconvenient if we wanted to be out past 9pm, or if we had guests that didn't want to have to leave the park by 8:30pm (that's the rule for guests). Our purpose for staying there was to visit my sister who lives in that town and if we went to her house for the evening, we didn't want to have to get home by 9pm so we just ended up spending the night at her house. And when she visited us it was inconvenient that she had to leave by 8:30. This was in October and I believe the hours are a little better in the summer, but it's still a little unsettling knowing you're locked in for the night. In 3 years of fulltime travel we've never been at a campground that does this. We have been at several that have gates, but they always have a code so that people staying there can get in or out after hours. It would be nice if this park would implement a gate with a code. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

A little hard to reach with low limbs and utility lines on narrow, hilly, curving road but ok if taken slowly. Easy, friendly check-in. Nice campground on a pretty lake. Tall, thick tree cover so hard to get satellite reception. A very few over the air stations available. Our site was long and level. Utilities were conveniently located and worked well. Site was nicely separated from others with plenty of space. Nice sitting area with table and fire ring. Restrooms were nearby and needed cleaning. Mainly a place to relax for a few days. Rate is with senior pass. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Our stay was great! We had a campsite on the waterfront - view was beautiful. Nearby campers were friendly and respectful of park rules and other campers. The park was clean and all sites were neat, spacious, and private. Our site was shaded and so comfortable. Camp hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, enjoyed our visits with them going in and out. No WiFi which made it difficult for us to navigate locations in Georgia. Also no sewer hookups. All in all, though, our stay was very good. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart is usually a good "go-to" place for everything. There is one just down the road on Bells Ferry and Highway 92. Also you will find many good eating places on Highway 92 or on Towne Lake Rd. I found great places for hair and nails also, as we were staying in Georgia for a month and needed the services. This was a good location for all that we had going on.

Overall campground is nice. a lot of debris still on sites and on driveways and roads. Does not look like the corp is keeping this park as clean as some others we have visited. Spring break weekend so park was full, however park is laid out to accommodate well. Did not seem crowded. Hosts do a good job checking on campers, law enforcement rides through park just about daily. Sites are good size, with lots of choices. Again extra to stay on water front site; they call it premium. Big tent area on our site as well as good area for camper. Has beach area and play ground for kids. Two sections each has its own bath house. They were clean at first of week, however by end of weekend needed work. Some campers are just sorry and dirty. Over all nice place, again hard to get reservations due to on the lake and reversible sites get eaten up quickly.

Description of sites that are on web do not tell the total story. This is an older park. Corp of Eng. do not cut out trees. Many sites are very tight and hard to get in and out of. However they do have many sites to choose from. Weekdays many sites open to drive up or walk in campers. More than half and all premium sites must be reserved. This must be planned months ahead. Overall good location. Nice sites, and beautiful views. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very nice COE campground on the shores of Lake Alatoona. I would have rated this place a ten if it had sewers hookups. Rates have gone up in 2017 - $28 for reservable interior sites, $32 for premium first come, first serve waterfront sites. There is a mix of back-in, pull-thru. Most can easily handle the biggest of rigs, several of the pull-thrus are horse shoe shaped and can handle a pop-up or smallest of travel trailers. Most sites are widely spaced or have barriers of dense brush which gives a nice feeling of privacy. Manual gates are locked at 10:30pm and don't open again until 7:00am so if going out for the day, like to the Aquarium in Atlanta or whatever, plan to get to your campsite before the gates close. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped at site #1 in a 40 foot fifth wheel. Most of the sites on this loop were very spacious with a good amount of space between sites. Ous was a back-in but there were quite a few pull-throughs. The sites in the other loops were mostly smaller but still a lot of space between. There are a lot of trees around some sites and others are out in the open. The attendants were very friendly and the ranger drove through quit a few times. Rules seemed to be enforced with animals and noise. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped at Victoria Campground COE to attend a family reunion in Woodstock. You travel thru a residential neighborhood to the campground. When entering at the gate, please make sure you park to the right, even if you are pre-registered. The sign for registered guest is misleading. (Reservations on-line only.) The rate listed is with the National Park Senior Pass or America the Beautiful Pass. Victoria is a beautiful campground in a rustic forest setting with paved roads. Some campsites are on or have a view of Lake Allootuna. There is a little distance between sites giving your family some privacy. Each site has a large crushed stone patio with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. There is no satellite or Wi-Fi service and very patchy antenna reception. Water and electrical hook-up at all sites. (There are two campsites with sewer if you are fortunate enough to get a reservation.) There is a dump station, but the design is not wide or level enough for large rigs. There is a washer and dryer at the restrooms/showers. Inside the restroom/shower area needs to be pressure washed. Beware when turning on the shower. The shower head is on the left and the shower knob is on the back wall, so the shower wets your head immediately. The park entrance gate is locked 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth-Wheel. sc river ratz. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here because we visit relatives in Woodstock, and it is convenient. It is a beautiful campground. LOTS and LOTS of trees. The sites are secluded and quiet. The trees are so dense that it doesn't get light out till an hour after sunrise. At night it is VERY dark. There is no satellite and very sporadic antenna reception. There are only a couple of non reservable sites with sewer but there is a dump. The lake/beach is gorgeous. Reservations on line only. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Rate is National Park Senior Pass rate. Sites are relatively level crushed stone and wooded with large crushed stone "patios". There are picnic tables, fire rings and grills at most sites. We had preregistered and on arrival we stopped in the preregistered line as instructed, but the attendant did not want us parked there and was not very nice about telling us to move. Quiet at night and the sites are far enough apart that you have privacy almost everywhere. The sites are very diverse, but the website has a nice map of the sites with lengths noted for each site. A gate locks the park from 10:30 pm till 7:00 am. We would stay again if in area. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Gorgeous wooded lakefront sites. Many pull through sites are also close to the water. The attendants were very nice and recommended a different site from our reservation and it was much better! Clean restrooms, quiet at night and in the morning and the usual camping, kids and motor craft noises during the day. The campground was mostly empty and the sites are far enough apart that you have privacy almost everywhere. We were told that all sites will soon have pictures available on-line which would be great for first-timers. We will definitely come back! We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is very quiet park. It is difficult to pick a spot unless you have been to the park before. The sites are very diverse. Some are very long - others short. Some are very shaded and secluded where others have more sun. Some have beautiful views of the lake - others not even though they are listed as water views. We were not able to get satellite or antenna signal from our site, but there were sites I believe you might have been able to. When the sun goes down it is very dark in the park. A gate locks the park from 10:30 pm till 7:00 am. The man that checked us in and the woman who worked with him could use some people skills, but the last day we were there the couple working the check in was very nice. This campground like all COE sites is well maintained. All sites are electrical and water, there is a dump station. Some sites have great views of the water, others are setup in shade. Great for big rigs to tents! The sites and road are paved and level. Great people running the office. You can fish on the lake. This campground is lovely and quiet, we stay here any time we are near Atlanta. We camped at Victoria Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.
