Typical KOA with all the services. Looked like they were getting ready to close for the season. Our site was close to the office so we had a view of the trash and restrooms. Our neighbors were close which made it difficult to sit outside in privacy. Free waffles in the morning was a nice touch. Cable and wifi worked well. Just far enough away from the town center.
We would probably stay again if in the area but might try the other campground in the area as it looked very nice. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 2 nights so we could day-trip to the Craters of the Moon NP (30+ mins away). We did not have a reservation, yet got a decent site for our 30 ft 5W, pull-through, full hook-ups. Cons: windy and flies. Pros: free waffle in the am. The pool was closed for the season. The campground was relatively full, mostly of people passing through like we were - there are not a lot of other options in the area. There is really nothing of note in the town, unless you read up on the history of atomic power, etc. No restaurants of good note, and one overpriced grocery store. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here so we could visit Craters of the Moon N.M. Very well layed out with typical size sites. Original section has trees for shade but new section doesn't and the gravel in those sites needs packing down. Utilities were good. I was able to get a satellite signal and their wifi worked great the whole time. Not much else to see as the nuclear info site was closed for the season. This campground was very quiet most of the time as the 2 highways are at least a half mile away and the county road for access doesn't have much traffic. The owner was great with everything we needed and makes great waffles every morning. We extended by a day just because of these 2 things just to take a break. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The Craters to the Moon is an easy 18 miles away and I really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Pickles restaurant had great burgers.
Did get a few items at the small grocery store and prices were about what I expected for a small town in the country.

This is our second year in a row staying here. First, let me correct an error I made in my review of last summer. I said that all three rows of fairly open RV sites had been upgraded to FHU. Only row D was upgraded. Rows E and F are still just W&E. Our site was a satellite friendly site in row B. It was a gravel, pull through with cable TV. Last year we got almost 60 channels. This time we got only 12. All park facilities are in the main building. The bathrooms are inadequate for a park with so many tent and non-sewer RV sites. There is a 8 machine laundry that cost me just $3 to wash and dry a large load. There is a pool and playground. The pool was being well used until it got, cloudy, the wind picked up, and the temperature dropped from the mid-80s to the low 70s in about an hour. There is an onsite "cafe" that, from 9-10 A.M, serves a free waffle for breakfast and has a limited dinner menu from 5-7 P.M. The WIFI worked well for us all evening. The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. I saw no sign of any recycling. This is a good park for a night or two to see the local (Craters and EBR-1) sights. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

This a great park! We stayed here before when visiting Craters of the Moon. This time we were just passing through the area, stopping for the night. We stayed in a pull through site that was long enough that we didn't have to unhook our tow car. We were tired after our drive so it was so nice to find out that they will deliver dinner to your site! We called the office and about 20 minutes later a fried shrimp dinner was delivered to our RV! Then we went to the ice cream social for dessert! We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

Folks running the campground are very friendly. There is a nice little store of RV items, grocery items and souvenirs. They offered some dinner items, morning waffles, and evening ice cream. Bathrooms looked clean but showers looked old. Wanted to mention that they did not have cable, not sure if that is a permanent change or not. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

We normally boondock camp, so my review is based on that perspective.

Clean campground, but very little shade. It was pretty hot in mid-July during the day, but cooled off at night. It was a very convenient location for visiting Craters of the Moon and the EBR-1 nuclear site. It was full most of the nights we were here.

The waffle breakfast was only from 9-10 AM, so we weren't able to make use of it, as we wanted to get our day started early to avoid the heat.

The pool is very clean but cold. Even on a 100 degree day, the pool was too cold to stay in for very long. They did have a lawn sprinkler "thing" that the kids could play with (running through it to get wet) and that was a big hit.

Showers were clean (albeit a bit musty smelling) and we did not have to wait in line to use them.

I accidentally signed up for the KOA club when making my reservation online - so just be aware when booking online. It was $30, but saved us $17, so I didn't fight the charge.

We had site F1 which was nice in that there was a grassy area next to it for the kids to play, but in retrospect, F2 would have been a better site. It had a decent shade tree right over the picnic table. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here just 1 night and visited the nearby Craters of the Moon. This is a nice CG that has some nice hospitality events - at least when we were there. They had a daily ice cream social in the evening and while we were there, they had a wine tasting event. We didn't partake in the wine tasting, but they looked like they were having a nice time. The pool was well used, though a little small. We enjoyed our limited time here. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Had an enjoyable 2 nights. Cable was poor few channels and faded in and out but we were told that it was just recently installed and to let them know about problems as they were trying to get it working. Showers were clean but old. Had a pool but we didn't use it to many kids. Did enjoy ice cream social one night and they had huckleberry ice cream, Yum! Very nice lady in store and enjoyed talking with her. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. It is off the highway and quiet and dark. Very well maintained grounds and facilities. Ice cream social in the evening and free waffles in the morning. I liked this KOA. RVs are spaced a little further apart than most KOAs, about 15-20' for most sites. They only have five 50A full hookup sites and ours was one of those. The 50A sites are level, gravel, about 60' long, partial shade and mostly good for satellite access too. The big chunk of 26 sites on the eastern side are very long W/E 30A sites. These look newer as the gravel isn't real packed down. Sites on the north side are 30A FHU and many of these are big rig suitable too. All have cable TV but ours was always scratchy. There's some dust from the gravel roads. Speaking of gravel roads, if you come into Arco from the west, don't follow the KOA sign or you'll have a mile of extreme washboard bumpy gravel road on 3100N. Come in to the park on 3000W from the north which is paved. Both Verizon & ATT have good signals. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent a night here on our way home from a long trip. We have stayed in previous years and it is evident the new owners are putting a lot into the place. Our site was wider than we have come to expect in KOAs, and the utilities worked well. Love the location - on the edge of town and not right next to a major road, so it's quiet and peaceful. One might be awakened in the morning by a horse whinny from a neighboring farm. Pool and play area for the kids, and the waffle breakfast and ice cream social were big hits with me. Will definitely come again; this campground makes a great base for visiting Craters of the Moon, Mt. Borah, and the surrounding area. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Just when I thought I submitted all the reviews for our summer trip, I find another that I forgot. Since we always enjoy driving through Craters of the Moon National Monument we decided to stop at this park since we read on this site that there were new owners. The previous owners always managed to do something that marred our stay. For starters, the new owners have added sewers to the 3 rows of sites that used to be just W&E. Now all the sites are FHU sites. All sites are pull-through except for 4 back-in sites by the tent area. When I first saw the site location on the map (which still shows the sites as W&E), I had to double check that they are now FHU. So, we had a level, gravel, FHU, pull-through site with 60 channel cable TV. All the sites in these 3 rows appear to be satellite friendly. Most of the old FHU sites are in the trees and not satellite friendly. There are also 3 cabins and 5 tent sites. Now that most of the RV sites are FHU, the bathrooms and showers are not as inadequate as they used to be. The bathrooms and laundry (I think there were 6 machines) are in the main building. For recreation, there is a decent size pool, a playground, and horseshoe pits. There were actually a dozen kids using the playground equipment the night we were there. We had no problems with their 802.11 network. That may have been because the park was less than half full. The store has pizza delivery and coffee available as well as the free waffle breakfast others have mentioned. This park is being run much better and being improved by the new owners. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

This KOA was one of our kids' favorite places to stay ever. Not only was there a pool and playground, but FREE WAFFLES every morning and an ice cream social in the evenings. There are only a few minutes from Craters of the Moon. The owners are some of the friendliest we've met. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We had a nice spacious space with easy access, gravel roads, and grass site. The owners are hard working and take pride in their campground. Small pool with 15 or so kids in it at 7 PM, but they were well behaved. They have a free waffle breakfast and ice cream at night for a buck. Not a fan of KOAs but this one was nice and would return. Craters of the Moon was worth the drive (about 18 miles). Not much to see in Arco itself, small market and a few gas stations. Diesel was cheaper there than in Mt Home at the Pilot.
