Mountain View has friendly staff; all sites are pull-throughs; dynamite Wi-Fi is included, as are the advertised mountain views. Prior policy of allowing washing of vehicles has been suspended because of a water shortage. Fortunately the shortage is not so severe as to prevent watering the grass in the areas separating the vehicles. Picnic tables and charcoal grills are provided at each site. Arco is a town of 994 people but lots to do in the area. The Park is 18 miles from Craters of the Moon National Monument, a must-see even if you have experienced flowing lava. Elsewhere Experimental Breeder Reactor#1, now a museum, was the first nuclear facility in the U.S. to produce electricity. For those with a high-clearance 4WD toad, the park and neighboring areas have plenty of rough roads. Nearby Mackey has a self tour of abandoned mines and equipment, and there is a natural bridge a Jeep ride and a moderate hike away. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The middle third of the so-called Arco-Minidoka road is an off-road challenge. The Minidoka National Historic Site of a WWII Japanese internment camp, however, is 48 miles to the west of the town. There are lots of fishing sites in the area but not many fish in the heat of July. There is a Hemingway Nature Preserve near Picabo. For food in Arco, there are a few mom & pop places and the Mountain View Park has a small restaurant.

Nice park. Good electric and water. Grass between sites. All gravel but good roads. I did think the sites were a little short for long 5th wheels as their trucks got in the way when leaving. The owner is trying to keep this park quite which it was and in good looking order. Would stay again when in the area. If you have a rooftop satellite park to the back of your spot so the tree will not block your signal. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The roads and sites are gravel with grass. All sites are full hookups. The campground is very clean and neat. We stayed here to visit the Craters Of The Moon park. It is only about 15 miles away. The office is also a restaurant. I haven't tried them, but I hear the burgers are really good. If you want satellite ask for a site on row D; speak to them when/if you make your reservation so they can put you in a site. There is some shade (a welcome relief from the summer heat) at most sites (which may also prevent good satellite reception). We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wonderful park to visit Craters of the Moon NP. Spacious sites, some shade, and quiet. The most noise is from the birds on the morning. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean laundromat. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Expect it to be hot here in June.

The sites in this park are much more spacious than the typical privately owned full service RV park. The owners are on site and work hard to keep it in great shape. There is nice grass and a fair amount of trees to shade the area, too. We were here to visit Craters of the Moon National Monument. We would definitely come here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is an Oasis in the desert. Lots of tree and grass. Staff/owner was very friendly and even cut some branches for us when they interfered with our slide out. On the highway but quiet. Grass was watered, a lot, and since it is hard water we had to clean truck window with vinegar the next morning just to see the road. Site was large and long, level gravel. Good power, water hook ups and sewer connection on drivers side 1/3 up. Ate a very nice breakfast at the on site café. Would stay again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

You probably won't find better hi-speed wifi anyplace. The park was clean and the parking spacious. They were doing some remodeling on the office when we were there. We would go again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I walked into town and took pictures .... about 3/4 mile I think.

This is a nice RV park - very clean and tidy. We made an unplanned stop here while we had some repairs made. The sites were wide, level, and well-planned. The staff is very friendly. This is one place we will happily come back to. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked this park pretty much. The pull through was too short for our 37' 5W and truck so we parked the truck in another site as they were not busy. The WiFi worked well as did the water and sewer. Verizon cell service and hotspot worked. We had a low voltage power problem in the morning when everyone must have been using their heaters. The 30A voltage dropped to 101 volts so our EMS shut off power to the RV. Later in the morning when it warmed up the voltage increased to 117 volts. There are lots of trees between sites so we had to carefully chose a site which would allow our rooftop dish to get a signal. We ate a good BBQ rib dinner in the CG restaurant. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you're in southeastern Idaho, this is a great place to stay. Sites are huge, level, and easy to get in to and out of. Electric is good and water is adequate with pressure regulated by the park. Unfortunately, there is no cable TV and broadcast channels are sketchy. A rarity is that they encourage washing RVs at the site. The owners are great, friendly folks who also operate Arco's best restaurant right at the park. If they had cable TV and concrete parking pads, this would be a 10. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground in the fact that the sites are large and well treed. However the campground is right on US Highway 20 so there's a lot of traffic noise to contend with. The new owners have eliminated the free pancake and egg breakfast, which is too bad, it was a nice novelty. When we checked in we were not given a map or a set of rules or any information on area attractions which seemed strange. The town is very small ( We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very large CG, with long pull-through spaces that are easy to maneuver. Gravel internal roads and level spaces. Plenty of shade trees throughout the park. Large grass area around each space. Great Wi-Fi. Clean laundry room, well equipped. Good water pressure, power, and sewer. Trees are well trimmed. Easy access from the 20. This park has a small eatery serving breakfast and dinner (ribs being the main menu attraction). A few attractions in the area. The new owners live on the property and are very friendly and helpful. An overall great place to spend a few days. We were here for 7 days and loved it! We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed only one night in this park but will be back. It's well kept, spaces are nice and big and has very easy access. Previous reviewers have mentioned the wonderful things about the restaurant so we decided to try it. Very good food, ribs are awesome, but we felt they were pricey. My husband had a sandwich and a beer, I had the ribs and a glass of water and the tab was over $35+tip. Will stay at the park again for sure, but probably won't go to the cafe. What a gem! Owners have only had the park for 3 weeks, and are doing a terrific job! Sites were clean and neat, and owner was very receptive to trimming some branches as we pulled through our site. He is in the process of trimming all trees. Sprint cell service was on roaming, so no wifi hotspot, but park has free wifi. Unfortunately, our site was in the back of the park, and we were not able to log on. Park also has café that serves the BEST BBQ ribs outside of Kansas City! Don't miss them!! And sweet potato pancakes for breakfast were fabulous! Don't miss this place. A real oasis in the Idaho dessert! We will definitely be back when we are in the area. Tough one - 8.5 to 9.0. Sites are real long, access easy, really wide spaces, some trees. Great Wi-Fi. No cable and no pool, but so what. Clearly stay again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.
