We came here because we have Passport America. They are very very large sites but there is nothing around the sights. It is like a large parking area with gravel and power water and Sewer. We could not hook up our sewer however due to the strange configuration of the pipes. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

The cost seemed high for a dry camp, especially with only dead grass and gravel to camp on. The "patrolling" of the park was too much! Waking customers and neighbors during the night (1:30- 2:00am) to question parking permits, threatening to have PERMITTED cars towed. We would not recommend staying at this park. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Tent.

Rate indicates Weekly Discount. This is a formerly neglected park that has shown great improvement. The sites are gravel, very wide and very long and level, with grass between. My 39' Moho towing a F-150 had at least 25' left. Trees will be helpful for shade in a year or 2. Managers are very friendly and helpful. I'll go out of my way to return. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

This was originally a park for modulars so the spaces are "spacious" with lots of room between. There are no trees yet which is good for satellite dishes. The managers are friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of the two grocery stores. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

To find the place, turn at the Jones and Casey Funeral Home modular, near the Stinker Station. We visited Challis Hot Springs about 7 miles from town. There is a more expensive RV Park there which looked nice.

Stayed 2 days. We have a big rig and fit in the large level pull-through site with no problem. We were one of only 6 vehicles. Check in was quick, staff were friendly. We had good cell service and wifi. The covered picnic table was nice. Not many amenities here but we would stay again if in the area. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a good sized park with very large sites - extra long because it used to be a mobile home park. I don't know why all the big trees were cut down at some point but they have planted new ones - yet it will be a while before there is any shade at all. But this makes the satellite signal easy to get. The wifi is excellent and our Verizon 4G was strong as well. The wifi might diminish if there were more people here - there were only 3 other rigs here when we were here. The management is very nice - I think they are trying to rebuild this RV Park and appreciate the business. Our rate ($19) was Passport America - but I think they take all the other ones too. All utilities were fine and the restrooms were small but clean. Again - if they ever fill this place up I would be a worried about availability of the restroom. They have a lot more sites than that facility can support. We would stay here again if in this area. Would be nice to have a picnic table at our site. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery store right across the street carries a little bit of everything - but very little produce - they attached to a True Value so a wide variety of things you might need. Gas is close by.

Stayed here going to northern Idaho and also coming back. Loved the large long sites with a good deal of space between. Formerly mobile home sites. Restrooms/showers very clean. Wifi at site worked great, also no extra charge. Stayed at Passport America rate. Will stay here again. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Park looks like it is being remodeled. Looks like they lost most of their trees in the past and now the RV park has new, small trees. The sites are far apart and out in the open. The owners have been here for 2 years. The wifi ($2.00 extra) is very good, plenty of room for satellite. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We think this is basically a river running community but we don't know. there is a grocery store and we walked thru town, but didn't look like much else to do, good for a stopover. Perhaps there is hunting and fishing for the most part.

Challis Valley RV Resort is a unique place for one reason - its owner - he is a walking "chamber of commerce". The owner was VERY helpful in showing me all that Challis and the surrounding wilderness region has to offer - 3 ghost towns, hundreds of miles of ATV trails, the Custer Motorway - a CCC era road that heads off into genuine wilderness. Additional activities in the area include bicycling, hiking, a state park run interpretive center (Yankee Fork), and much more. The campground isn't real fancy by ANY means, but you'll get water/sewer/and electric (30 amp) - and with guidance from the owner, you'll find yourself spending more nights than you planned and be glad you did! We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

My first reaction was this cannot be the same park that previous reviews stayed at. After staying here it is possible that the previous reviews reflect some of the things that this park had to offer. The first thing that met us when we arrived was a note on the door of the office saying no water $10 a night. Since we were only going to stay one night I had filled up with water so I would not have to hook up anyway, boy did that work out good. Evidently the owner has some water issues not only in the park but also with the city so this is what he told us and that was the reason we had no water. Kind of wondered how the long-term tenants got by they seem to be on some sort of water. I also was taken aback that nothing was green everything was dead including most of the trees they must have shut the water off after the previous post left. For us this park worked out fine we had our own water the dead look did not bother us for one night but let's just say you were looking forward to a resort and you had kids believe me you would have been very disappointed in this park and you would have rated it with a one. The owner was very nice he met me the next morning wanted to help me unhook and pack up and even offered me another day without paying any more money, so without any more being said I hope that this park can be turned around, can remain a Passport America, and get back to the previous reviews remarks. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Large pull-through sites. Electric, sewer, water, Wi-Fi all worked well. Grounds well maintained. Rest rooms and showers very clean. Owner very nice and helpful. The park was very quiet. Don't let the broken sign at the entrance fool you, this is a nice place to stay. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Passport America rate for two night stay. Calling this place a resort is a stretch (the only amenity is laundry), but the sites are enormous and the hosts are friendly. When we stayed here there were only a handful of RV's in this 36 acre park. Very peaceful. Did not use the parks WiFi, but had good internet speed on our own Verizon system. While on Hwy #93 we found the park via Passport America booklet. Has very clean sites, the, largest we've found in our travels; very close to gas station and Napa auto parts, grocery stores, laundry are all within walking distance. Daily watering is allowing the grassy areas to green up. There are more planter pots with various colors Petunias scattered about the park than at any Lowe's farm and garden stores. The park owners are very friendly and helpful. We will travel Hwy #93 again and will seek out this RV park. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Highway 93 passes through this small town. The RV park is easy off / easy on. Owners/operators are helpful and friendly. Our cost reflects Passport America membership (50% of regular). Nicely graveled sites: wide, level and very long... the pull through assigned to us easily accommodated our motor home and toad. Wide interior roads made site access/egress very easy. Quiet and dark at night; good sleeping. No security. EXCELLENT utilities (our power post contained four receptacles: one 20 amp, two 30 amp, one 50 amp. Good water pressure. Ground level sewer connector. Good AT&T signal. Acceptable WiFi. A great place to over night while en route; would be OK for a few days stay if one had reason to be in the Challis area. We would definitely stay here again if traveling north or south on Idaho 93. We camped at Round Valley RV Park (formerly Challis Valley RV Resort) in a Motorhome.
