Stayed 3 nights in a 25ft RV, did not enjoy, campground is right on a main busy 4 lane street. It appears that a lot of construction type workers stay here and get all the best spots away from noisy street, very loud trucks when leaving for work at mornings. Very tight spots. I could not even put out our awning it was so packed afraid of hitting next camper. One good note the bathrooms were very nice, but that's all that was. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I believe that I am one of the people some of the other reviewers are referring to in their review. I tried to make my reservation at the same time as M.G. I spoke with a female employee on the phone when we made our reservations for July 7th thru July 9th. When we arrived on the afternoon of the 7th we were told that they did not have our reservation, because we were a month late! They claimed we made our reservation for JUNE 7-9th! REALLY?!?!? How is that possible when the reservations were made on June 17th!!! Retroactive reservations I guess... The employees were dumbfounded. Their solution was to kick other RV'ers out of their spot and cram our 38" & 40' 5th wheels into one spot, and stuff the other person somewhere undesirable for them (They were also very unhappy with how it was handled). There's no way the two big rigs would even come close to fitting in the single spot they proposed. We would then have to find somewhere in the facility to park our tow vehicles, but they didn't know where that would be. After more than an hour of nonsense, we told them we wanted a full refund and we were leaving. The one thing they did right was issue a full refund. We were sent off on a Friday afternoon with no reservations anywhere, and no openings anywhere nearby. Aside from the incompetent staff and their comedy of errors, the park left a lot to be desired. As others have said, it is smack in the middle of the city on a very busy, noisy road. The spaces are very tight, cramped and buried in very tall trees. There's no way you could get any satellite TV service. The roads were very narrow. We had doubts about just being able to navigate them safely when we exited to park. A large number of the spaces in the park were taken by full-timers. The park must have very liberal rules that apply to them as it looked very cluttered and junky. Our experience left such a bad taste in our mouth that we would not return here on a dare. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It should have been clear to me that there was going to be a problem here when we couldn't seem to make reservations on the phone. They messed them up, and booked us in the wrong month. It was dirty and crowded. No way big rig friendly, we almost couldn't drive on the main roads, for all the trees and parked cars. To their credit they did refund our money. No way in the world we would ever go back there. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park seemed like a glorified parking lot. Tall trees, yes, but piney foliage so high that they provided little shade. Sites very close together and hard to maneuver. The park was located right next to a busy street. No view. Folks that arrived after us were victim of a scheduling snafu and had to be sent away, although they had reservations. The year round residents gave this a shanty-town feeling. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.

I would have given this park a higher rating, BUT, the pull-through site we got was impossible to turn in to due to the large trees. Fortunately, our neighbor across the drive pulled their truck out so we could back into their site and then make the turn into our site. Took about half hour to get positioned. Other than that. The park does have a nice woodsy appearance. There are some permanent residents (as in nearly every private RV park today), but they were well-kept. I don't think we'd return due to the tight maneuvering needed to get into the sites. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The grounds are wooded with lovely big cedar/pine trees and the staff were nice. Sites vary in quality - ours was not that great - gravel and a grass area that had turned to weeds. Pull-through sites are considerably nicer if you can get one. For some reason it was still an OK place to stay. Quiet. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Half of this park are full time people. Overall the park is fairly quiet. We were given a pull through site, but we were asked to move (they were extremely nice about it) because a big 40 ft. class A pitched a huge fit because they wanted the same site as last year. We felt to sorry for the gal in the office, that we were happy to move to another spot that was just as nice. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

First of all we made our reservations here 3 months ahead of time for 5 nights and had to pay the full amount up front. After we got to the park we knew why. There are a number of very old RV's in the park which is not bad until they become delapidated with trash and junk cars around. We asked for a pull through and they gave us a back in which was also not bad except that they put us right next to a busy road and we had to run our fan at night in order to get some sleep. Then people came in after we came in with reservations made after we made ours and they gave them a quiet pull through spot at the back of the park. Then they put a tent camper next to us in a spot that had previously been occupied by a nice 5th wheel trailer. Also, our cable didn't work so we had to splice into another sites cable. Some of the permanent sites are so cluttered up that they look like a miniature junk yard. The office is closed on Saturday and Sunday except for new customers coming in. One lady who had been here for a year said that she was moving to another RV Park because the Tamerack Park had become run down since she had moved into the park. One person was parked across from us in an old car and had towels and shirts covering the windows and that was their RV.

Needless to say we will never stay at this park again and we would strongly recommend that other campers avoid this park unless you have a run down piece of junk for an RV. They would probably welcome you. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tamarack RV Park, owner at Tamarack RV Park responded to this review

Dear Bill,
Thanks for taking time to give us feedback. We try very hard to exceed our guest expectations. I am truly sorry we were not able to meet your needs. It is always a tight rope act to balance the need and expectations of all our short stay guest and those who choose to stay a little longer. It sounds like you had a really bad day. Here is hoping things are looking brighter for you soon.
Sincerely,
Dan

We reserved over 3 months in advance. Because of nearby trees, the site they gave us was very difficult to access with a 40' rig. We had to do a lot of maneuvering to get in there. They should be more considerate and provide easier access sites for larger rigs. The site was also very narrow. The good thing is that Costco was right around the corner and a FANTASTIC sporting goods store called "Black Sheep" was right next to COSTCO. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful folks. Our truck broke down just outside of town. We called and they gave us a spot for an unknown length of time. VERY KIND. Very helpful and accommodating. This park was one less thing we had to worry about during our stressful situation. New shower "room" complete with toilet and sink. Good WiFi. Good cable. Cozy spaces. They are always working to keep the park looking good. Conveniently located across from grocery store, bus stop and more shops within walking distance. Tamarack RV Park, owner at Tamarack RV Park responded to this review

Dear Robin,
Thanks for taking time to give us a review. So often it is the folks that we were not able to please who seem to find time to write a review. Hope you truck troubles are behind you for a long time and hope you will come back and stay with us again when your wheels are working so you can better enjoy all that beautiful Coeur d'Alene has to offer.
Thanks, Dan

Friendly manager. Easy registration, long easy pull thru # 4 for a 36 foot 5th wheel with three slides. Trees but was easy to maneuver. We were nicely levelled. Just there for one night enroute going south for five months. Would definitely recommend and stay at again. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I think a rating less than 6 is unfair to Tamarack. Yes, it is an older park but it has changed hands and there are improvements being made. Yes, they do have long-termers but those have kept their sites pretty clean. Those we saw are friendly. There is good shade with trimmed tall fir trees throughout the park. Walking distance to Safeway, drug, gas, and fast food. There is some traffic noise but more than tolerable. The park is clean. We've stayed at far worse over the years. I saw no playgrounds so it would not want to compare it to...say a KOA. Not ALL bad!! We stayed here in a motorhome w/toad. And yes, would not hesitate to stay again next time in the Coeur D' Alene area. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.

Older park with a lot of full time but the sites are good in size, all hookups great, wi-fi is super good, cable great, and the manager works hard and is a great manager. Stayed 6 days in June and 3 days in August. Some highway noise to be expected; it is an RV park in town and close to everything. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed a week. The park is located near the center of town. At least half of the residents are long timers. Level gravel site. Picnic table had rotted boards. Nice paved roads within park. Restrooms were dated and one shower stall was cracked at the base. Quiet at night. We would stay here again for an overnight stay. We camped at Tamarack RV Park in a Motorhome.
