5 RV Parks near Elk River, Idaho
Sep 2010 - $15.00
Nice, small Forest Service campground. Lots of hiking and ATV trails around. Beautiful forested area. Water available in town (1 mile) or from spigot in picnic area. Back country grass airstrip can be noisy. - Jeff J
Jul 2016 - $10.00
This is a hidden gem 19 miles from Orofino. The park is well maintained and the camp hosts were excellent. All sites but one are half-moon pull-through sites. Each site has a covered picnic table and fire ring. There is a very nice boat ramp and dock and the nicest fish cleaning station I've ever seen. However, there was an over abundance of yellow jacket bees that came out when the food came out. They were annoying but did not sting. The locals came prepared with yellow jacket traps. The other caveat is the road getting to Dent Acres. It is a very steep and very winding mountain road with some narrow spots. The 19 miles from town took us an hour to drive pulling a 42' 5th wheel. Because of the road it took 40 minutes, not pulling a trailer, to get back into town to resupply. Not all sites are equal as some are more level than others. We had site 45, which was fine for our 42' 5th wheel. The sites on the lower end of the park, closes to the reservoir, provide the best level open space and are better for the bigger rigs. We originally reserved site 40 but called the camp host a week prior and based on the length of our RV the camp host moved us to site 45. The web site says they can only take RV's up to 35'. We were told by others that longer RVs could get in the park. We called and confirmed that this was the case. Our 42' 5th wheel was at the limit. We would stay here again if it was not such a white knuckle drive getting to and from the campground. We stayed here for a fishing trip arranged by relatives. If you have a boat and want to fish, this is the place. There is no Wi-Fi or Verizon cell service. - cwousa

Very dense forest of pine trees and cedar trees. This little campground has 18 sites, 3 pit toilets, and one water pump for drinking water. The campground has one site that is a pull-through. All others are back in sites. The trees in the campground are right to the edge of the pavement so many of the sites may look long enough for a trailer but are a challenge to actually get into because of the trees. I have a 37' RV and there were probably 4-5 sites I could get in. Lucky for me I got the only pull-through site. I watched one fifth wheel about my size try to get into a site but couldn't because of the trees (site was plenty long for him). He ended up finding plenty of room in site 1. Most trailers there were under 30'.
Very remote, very quiet, very dark at night. Beautiful area. - kohai
Aug 2018 - $9.00
Easy to get in/out of US 12. Paved roads. Sites are spacious and some are pretty long. Not a lot of sites but they have full hook up but with only 30 amp. Utilities worked well including the 30 amp being a solid, consistent 30. Clean restroom, no showers. First-come-first-served site availability. Strong Verizon signal but slow. Host is very friendly and helpful. It was around 100 degrees during the day but as soon as the sun dropped down it cooled off very quickly. - cwier
Jul 2018 - $9.00
Great place to stay. Hosts are the best we've witnessed in 8 years of traveling. The park has 30 amp only with water and sewer at each site. ATT did not work at all. There are just a few sites that will fit a 40' motorhome and toad. How anyone can find fault with this park is beyond me. If you need 50 amp service go elsewhere. It's wrong to mark down a park for something they say doesn't exist at the park. - illini777
May 2017 - $9.00
This BLM run campground has 14 sites of which three are elevated tent sites. Only two pull thrus are available near the river side of the park. However, the back-in sites would easily accomodate our 28 ft fifth wheel trailer and pickup. The site hosts deserve a ten star for the park appearance and their welcoming and helpful manner. The full service facilities (sewer, water, and 30 AMP0 worked well and were well placed. If I placed my verizon mifi puck outside the trailer, verizon internet service was mostly satisfactory except during busy periods in the evening. My 3g Verizon based Tracfone showed no service. One boundary of the park is the Clearwater river which you can access via several foot paths. During our three night stay here, the park was never full. Even one of the pull thrus was available. The park is first come, first served so I would guess it is full to over flowing later in the summer. We will definitely return again. - Larry J
Jun 2018 - $34.00
There are a lot of back in to the river and a few pull through. Neat and tidy. Food and small grocery store near by. The road you turn onto is the parking lot of the hardware store. No obvious signs, but worth the try. No amenities no dog run but can walk all over park. We would stay again if in the area. No AT&T cell Service or internet. Had to depend on their WiFi. - Crsltman
Jun 2018 - $38.00
Park is in town right on the Clearwater River Banks. All site overlook the river. I had a pull/thru FHU for my 42' 5th wheel. I had plenty of room for both the RV & Truck. Back in sites are gravel & pull/thru's are black top. Each site has a concrete patio and picnic table. The showers and laundry are up to date and very clean. They have cable TV and I was able to use my dish along with good wi-fi. Sites are level and the park is easy to get around in. The park is well kept, except for a few full time renters that have messy sites. Park is located in a beautiful area of ID. - Piperflyer 235
Jul 2017 - $24.00
Most of the sites at this RV park are along the river. We were at a back-in site along the river edge for a week. The ground is well kept but cleanliness and neatness at some permanent sites are not enforced as we saw one with a mattress under the rig and others appeared trashy. Every site has a concrete pad and a picnic table. Trees are at each site by the river's edge and provide some shade from the afternoon sun but most of them are not mature enough to block the afternoon sun from heating up the rig. Unfortunately the awning does not help except during the high noon. The laundry room is small with three washers and dryers and very well maintained. Each washer load costs $1.50 and dryer load costs $1. We had T-Mobile and couldn't get any reception during our stay. The wifi signal is strong but connection drops constantly. We won't be returning to this campground because of the unreliable communication with the outside world made this campground undesirable for us. - gartail
