9 Parks near Gowen Army National Guard Post, Idaho
Sep 2014 - $15.00
For DOD/Military employees/retirees ONLY. 7 Sites. Great place for overnight stay. No amenities except for full hookups which worked well. Sites are level and paved but close together, easy access back-in sites. Restroom and Showers are not available. Some airport noise but not bad, otherwise very quite and safe (inside base). We would definitely stay here again - on the road 65
Nov 2013 - $10.00
This was our first stop on a trip from Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA to my new duty station at Fort Campbell, KY. Truly a wonderful find! At only $10.00 per night you get full hookup in a secured area, Air Force Security Forces man the gates, free laundry, access to a small Post Exchange, and just an overall nice place to stay. I made reservations, hard to come by for military camps as many are first come first serve. The lady was very courteous on the phone and related they would leave the keys to the power box on my site, site "F" if we were going to be a late arrival. We rolled in close to 2300 (11 PM for your military types) and there was a young, sharp Airman manning the front gate who within 30 seconds, checked our ID's (required to get on base) and had us on our way. The base itself is quite small when compared to Active Duty installations. This was very helpful though as we navigated the streets to the campground at night. As mentioned in a previous review, the campground is not a resort but provides concrete pads (ours was cracked on the back end) but leveling was not a problem as we were only staying the night and remained hooked up to the truck. I was able to place my 2011 F150 6.5 SuperCrew and Jayco 29QBH on the site without sticking out in the road. This did require backing up the absolute max distance. Hook ups are well maintained and sites are clean. Exercise field with a pavilion were close by as was a fitness center. Nice open field allowed me to run my dogs (with poop bags at the ready of course). Overall this would be a great place to stay to explore the area and the price simply cannot be beat. Very thankful for this benefit of being a Service Member. - Jim in WA
Jul 2013 - $10.00
I rated this place pretty high because of the price ($10) for full hookups and the fact there is free laundry and close access to the fitness center. This has been a very good stop over for us for a week. My WiFi/internet and satellite TV worked well here. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we made the reservations and checked in. I was able to wash and wax my RV which was nice. The full hookups included concrete pad. The campground/parking is on the edge of the compound and is what I would call a modest facility. But it works for us and we would come here again. - rwarner22
Jul 2016 - $34.00
Very nice park convenient to all Boise sites. Restrooms exceptional. Showers the largest I've seen. Hosts are very friendly and helpful with directions to things to do in Boise. It was hot! while we were here and the watering of grass at each site was a nice cooling help. - m&s
Jun 2016 - $40.00
Me my wife and two kids stayed at Mountain View RV and had an enjoyable experience. It's nicely located off of highway 184 and near Boise airport. The noise didn't bother us at all and we had peaceful sleep. Probably the best feature of this park was it's Wi-Fi. My sons were able to play video games while my wife and I were able to stream movies with no problems. Probably the best feature of this park was it's Wi-Fi and how clean it was. We were able to hop on the freeway and go explore Boise within 10 minutes time. All and all a great stay. - CampingLife1960
Jun 2016 - $35.00
Very neat little park. Site are close but on the bias so not too close. Occupants mostly workers in 5th wheels. Between I84 and the Airport so a little noisy but was able to get a good nights rest. full hookups worked great, Wi-Fi worked good (we were fairly close to office). Great for a night or two. - mlbarry
Aug 2016 - $39.00
The best feature of this park is its location right on the Garden City Greenbelt multiuse trail which connects to the Boise River Greenbelt. Sites are large, with a dedicated separate space for tow vehicle or toad. Most of the park is gravel. The exception is the Greenbelt sites, which are water and electric only. These have grass, but are much narrower.
Adjacent Hawks ballpark is rather noisy, especially on weekends, but if you enjoy baseball, you might want to take in a game.
Good Sam discount, but we stayed a week for $234. - Ken and Lee
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Very good experience. After 7 nights in Yellowstone this was a joy to see. Employees were attentive and friendly. Gravel interior roads were smooth and well maintained. Not dusty. Bathrooms were clean, well serviced, and water flow in the showers was very good. We made our reservation 3 weeks in advance and all that was left was a W/E site. Being right on the Greenbelt and close to shopping was a plus for us. - rvfulltime
Jul 2016 - $35.00
Place is okay, great location. Roads are gravel and tend to get dusty. Bathroom is dated; faucet fell off one sink, could only get hot water out of all 3 sinks. Showers okay, again are dated. Only two toilets for this large park. With over 120 slots and the place appearing to be booked every day we were day, I think they could put some money into remodeling the bathrooms or even paving the roads. Some of the workers were quite friendly, one was rude to my wife and ignored her when she came into the office and asked where the laundry was. Location was great. - Scraig7001
Jul 2016 - $36.00
Rate was for a week for a 30 amp site. Park has many long term sites around the edges. Sites for both large and smaller rigs require careful parking of your tow or truck. This is especially true in the overnight 30 amp area. As mentioned earlier, several roads are very narrow with vehicles sticking out into the roads from sites. - GerMarV
Jul 2016 - $31.00
Clean, well kept. Staff is helpful but does not go out of the way to help in finding or backing into site.
Sites are unusually small in length for a KOA. Place is like a cattle feed lot without the stench (all RVs are jammed in). Streets are narrow with vehicles parked on the sides (makes it difficult to park your camper).
I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. - Poe Dog
Apr 2016 - $40.00
Campground is well maintained, and the permanent residents' sites are clean and cared for. It is centrally located close to Boise and its suburbs in a decent area; whereas some of the other Boise suburb campgrounds are in questionable neighborhoods. The cable worked well, but we didn't use the bathrooms, laundry room, etc. We camped here for a month prior to moving across the country. My only complaint is how fast the cars move through the campground. - Roadschool
Aug 2016 - $37.00
Nicely laid out. Pull-through row was a little close, but had ample slides and awning room. Nice grass , concrete patio, level good gravel site. Baths were super, clean, private rooms, laundry large, fair cost, less than most. WiFi...well, you know how that goes, but adequate mostly. Out of the business of Boise, but easy to access all. We would come back. - ToniB
Jul 2016 - $11.00
Every one was very nice and helpful. Nice and clean. Very nice pool and doggy play area. Quiet and peaceful. Great place to hike, boat, sightsee. - Peter - Vickie
Jul 2016 - $40.00
Nice amenities. Very clean. Very crowded. - unifan
Aug 2016 - $26.00
We stayed in this park in 2011. It was a great little park. So, coming through this area again, we chose to stay here for an overnighter. What a mistake. We should have checked the reviews on this site first. Fortunately for us, we got the best site in the park. First spot, last row right near a large grassy area. But, unless you like a real run down park with probably 98% questionable live-ins, I would suggest you find a better park to stay in. Even for one night. Can't wait to leave tomorrow. - PJD
Jun 2015 - $25.00
we rang and originally booked for 3 nights. The office was closed when we arrived and we noticed the local Sheriff parked at the gate (incidentally he was parked there the entire time we were in the park)
The Park is mostly long term , questionable tenants and run down trailers RV's with rubbish all over the place.
The pull through site was VERY tight for our RV and we required assistance to get it in. The park manager and his partner were very helpful (thus the 3 star for service)
We did not feel safe in this RV park and decided at 5 am to leave and find another park more to our taste and comfort level.
The office didn't open until 11 am, so we left our credit card number for the one night payment - we should have received the Good Sam discount, however upon looking at our credit card this morning, we see it was processed for the full nightly amount.
We would definitely not stay here again. - Keez
Jun 2015 - $20.00
We stayed here last year and tolerated the barking dogs and questionable long-term residents, but when we returned this year things had deteriorated. Dog poo in our tiny yard meant we had to step carefully every time we went from our rig to toad and back. A neighbor's dog barking woke us from a sound sleep, then a loud conversation kept us from falling back asleep. A neighbor rear-ended his own fifth wheel with his car, knocking it off its jacks, so we worried it could teeter over onto our rig. We also worried about him missing his rig one night and hitting ours, so we moved. We'd prepaid three more days but weren't offered a refund. Wifi wasn't working the few days we were there and the manager (owner?) didn't seem interested in getting it back up and running. This location is mostly a long-term RV park for local workers -- not a place I'd recommend for active travelers. - ellenbenr
Sep 2012 - $26.00
When we pulled in the office was closed for the long weekend so it was self check in. We drove through the site which was dirt roads and dirt sites. The park was almost full of permanent residents and really unappealing. We left and really would not recommend it. - Terry G
Aug 2012 - $25.00
This RV Park is dominated by the rudest manager I have ever come across. Non professional, lacks people skills downright mean lady. She locks down the bathrooms and told me, "Too bad. You live in a RV use the damn thing!" She lies and says she is the owner of the park, not allowing anyone to complain to higher ups. The park is dirty. Its a park that people use to live at, with all their corresponding junk and cars. I would not stay here again if it was the last spot on God's green earth. - mrsnoose
Mar 2012 - $18.00
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this park. The Manager was very nice and the restrooms, showers and laundry were updated as well as always clean and tidy! We'll stay there anytime we are anywhere near Nampa, Idaho. - RV On The Move
Aug 2016 - $30.00
One of our favorite parks! Close to Boise and lots of restaurants. Laundry was very nice. Pool area was very nice and they were good about getting kiddies out by 8:30. Our lot had ample room for our 42 ft rv plus our hauler. It was nice to have some green grass between lots. - full timers from Michigan
Aug 2016 - $31.00
Level, narrow lots with hookups at the rear. The rig sat on gravel, and there was a long cement patio with a narrow area of grass. We had enough room with our four slides to put out our awnings. Nice dog ice dog park. Pool was pretty small but seemed adequate. Guests were mostly one night travelers in well maintained rigs. Maintenance men stayed busy all day keeping the park nice, and they picked up trash any time of day. We stayed for the Caldwell Night Rodeo, and that was a blast. - OH2SD
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Excellent park, and our second in the G7 group. This was a quick stop over on our way home. Off freeway, Flying J, no freeway noise. Long terms on out ring of park, but clean sites. Our site level, good wifi, good cell. adult hours at pool, and spa, escort service to site. Staff is really nice, and I would stay here again. - NXTSTOP
Aug 2016 - $26.00
Worst place we ever stayed we stayed in a forty ft motor home. We were going to stay two nights, pulled out after first night, did not feel safe. Cops were coming through all hours of the night & firetrucks were in there checking things out It was almost like a homeless camp. Took my dog for a walk around the park, seen all kinds of nasty stuff along the borders of the property. I slept with my pistol not under my pillow but on top of the pillow, pretty rough looking place. My advice pass this place by. Would not ever stay here again. - DandMandS
Jun 2016 - $27.00
This is an inexpensive trailer park for permanent residents with a couple of short, 30 amp, pull-through sites for overnight guests. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry were dated but fairly clean. WiFi worked well.
I would not stay here again. - JoyceM
Nov 2015 - $28.00
Park has a lot of year round sites. Some older vehicles but no accumulation of debris. Very convenient huge dumpster on the way out of park. Water pressure good, and sewer system in good shape. Management is extremely helpful and professional. - steppin right along
