Great little park on the beautiful South Fork of the Payette River. We camped here on our way up to Stanley from Oregon. A couple of large pull-through sites, but most are back-in. It is along the Banks Loman Highway, but was not very noisy. Fresh water is available and the faucets did have hose threads. So, you should be able to fill tanks here (but don't count on it because the faucets are near spaces such that another RV could block access when parked for the night). Across the street is a nice little hot spring, right along the river. Spaces were adequately spaced for privacy and quiet. Note that ReserveAmerica only lists the 3 group sites at this facility because the 8 individual sites cannot be reserved in advance. The link in this listing is to the Forest Service website that provides more complete information. - Dropped68

Nice park out in the middle of nowhere. Spacious sights and reasonably level. Facility has pit toilets which we did not need to use and pumped water spigots. Close to the river and the hot springs are interesting. If you are passing through this very beautiful country and need a place to camp this is a good spot. - DennisA

Not a whole lot of amenities, this is more rugged camping. Vault toilets and pumps for water are the only real conveniences. Lots to do here, great hot springs and river access within walking distance, beach with warm hot springs for kids, biking, hiking, etc. Great place, will return again! - sdmusgrave

Each Spring we drive up to Garden Valley, Idaho to attend a retreat and often take up our travel trailer. RV spots in the Garden Valley/ Crouch area are REAL hard to find, which is too bad since this is a gorgeous area. The Starlight Mountain Theatre camping area is primarily set up to accommodate the folks who come to Garden Valley to see the various dramas that are put on during the summer. But depending on availability you can camp there even if you don't wish to see the plays. We always go up before the plays begin and usually have the place pretty much to ourselves. There are about 6 sites with full hookups which will cost your $21.00, and there are some other sites with just water and electricity. Those are $17 a night. We have stayed in both. The area is pretty poorly cared for and it's not uncommon to see trash on the ground. This year it appeared there was a bit more of an effort to improve the grounds but it was still far from perfect. You'll find little more than a place to park your RV (if you didn't come for the theatre). There are no bathrooms or showers so your RV will need to be completely self-contained. The address of this park says "Garden Valley" but technically it is situated in the small village of Crouch. - Paul_Oregon
