Slightly off the beaten path. Very well kept and maintained. No traffic other than RV'ers. Great staff. Very quiet. Nice mostly level sites - mine was. Neighbors made the adjustments. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

If you want to get away from the Yellowstone craziness this is it. It is about 20 miles from the city of West Yellowstone entrance to Yellowstone. Staff is great and they are adding more sites. The only negatives is the $3.00 price per load to wash and the dryers are .25 to dry for 6 minutes. Gets a little pricey when you are there for a week. Also no TV and the internet is so overwhelmed that you can't use it but in early AM and late PM. They really need to power their internet system up. I thought it was funny that they restricted you to 500 a day because you can't use it. It will probably be worse when they add the other 30 plus new sites to their already overwhelmed internet. Don't expect to use your internet. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The park is off the beaten track, about 5 miles from U.S. 20, down a paved road, where the cattle roam without fences. The park roads and sites are gravel, at least where we were. It looks like they are working on a new section that has concrete pads. After we checked in, we were led to our site, where we found that to get connected, we had to intrude onto the neighbor's site. There was no cable or OTA TV, but satellite TV worked well. AT&T cell phones and hot spots were spotty. The park's wi-fi was bad and usually wasn't working, and when it did, it was really slow. The park was quiet, and it was clean. Since my wife works remotely, from her computer, we need decent wi-fi or a hot spot, so we probably wouldn't stay there again. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

No road noise. This place is quiet. Very nice staff. There are 2 sides to this park. The old side has trees and tight sites not much room between coaches. The new side has no trees but the sites are better spaced apart. The West Gate to Yellowstone is within driving time approximately 30 minutes. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice park, well run and well maintained. Gravel roads and sites throughout but was not a problem with access, leveling or cleanliness. Utilities all worked fine, but we had to move our RV a few feet to get a Dish satellite signal. RVs on our row face opposite directions with close quarters around utility connections, but significant space on the living side of the RV. Our site faced east giving us great views from the windshield and outside area. The park has new sites that look very promising including concrete patios and fire rings but currently only water and electric. Park is isolated, so best to bring your groceries, etc in with you. AT&T cell signal was weak (one bar) and the campground WiFi was spotty as well. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Takes about 30 minutes to reach the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. An early morning start will avoid crowds and traffic. Old Faithful, The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, and Mammoth Hot Springs are top sites to visit. Lamar Valley has bison, pronghorn sheep, etc-but is a long drive. There is a small grocery store within 15 minutes. Groceries at nearby Robins Roost are reasonably priced with a good selection to include beer and wine. Gas is less expensive in West Yellowstone.

The camp sites are clean and have roomy grassy areas for pets and play. The best part about this park are the people who run it. We were fortunate to have the space across from the caretakers and they were ever so helpful and friendly. We felt like we were staying with friends......and would highly recommend this park just because everyone was so nice and helpful! They have a nice area to walk pets and a path that leads to a lake. The area is very quiet and the views from the campground are stunning. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The park is beautiful. Pastures surrounding 3 sides Mountain on 1 side and it's quiet. Not worth the money. Unless you fish or ride quads not much to do. W. Yellowstone is 23 miles to entrance and another 10 to Old Faithful but then that is only a day trip. If you want to see other areas of Yellowstone it is another day trip and much farther. Laundry room is small barely get two of you in at a time and expensive at $3.00 to wash and a quarter for 7 mins but it takes 5 minutes to heat up so it cost $2.00 a load. Even with the good Sam rate we paid $51.00 a night for no yard or fire pit. Barely fit a picnic table. $55.00 a night for a larger yard with picnic table and fire pit. Only monthly rate break not weekly and we were there for two weeks because we were with friends. Won't go back though. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is 4.5 miles off Route 20 on a very rough paved road about 20 miles from West Yellowstone. Lots of ATVs, dust and mosquitoes. Park policy is no refunds if you want or need to leave early even though during high season they turn people away daily. Several other people besides myself were complaining about this policy so be aware of how long you want to stay. No exceptions. For us, it was too isolated and expensive for what we got. On a positive note, it was quiet and there is a mountain view. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Out of the way and quiet were this campsite's strengths but remember that means you have to drive a bit (5 miles) just to get to the main road (cost of being "out of the way" I guess :) Excellent and helpful staff that led everyone to their spots and assisted getting them situated. Were also willing to provide same assistance on departure. Good laundry facilities and a small playground but the roads aren't paved so not great for kids trying to ride bicycles, skateboards, etc. Their wi-fi is WEAK but they tell you that upfront. AT&T not strong (they also tell you that) but there is a good signal when you get to the main road and "up the hill" a little ways. According to those familiar with the area Verizon lost a couple towers this past winter and haven't gotten them replaced as yet so we basically had little to no internet access during our two week stay. However, can't fault the campground for tower loss and my understanding is normally Verizon is very good in the area. Plenty of room to exercise and play with your dog (off leash outside the campground's boundary) but no designated dog park for pets to socialize and play. All-in-all we had an outstanding stay! We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thankfully Grizzly in West Yellowstone was sold out or we never would have found this place. The sites were big enough and fairly level. The site width was massive. IThe laundry room was spotless! The views and surrounding meadows were spectacular. And the staff were pleasant and helpful. Only 21 miles to the west entrance and so peaceful and quiet. We highly recommend! As others have noted, this park is five miles off the highway which is OK. It is quiet. Sometimes you see wildlife crossing the road to the park. The staff is very helpful and friendly - will guide you into your spot. The spaces have ample room and you have a lawn that sits between you and another RV. It's wonderful if you have a dog. It's a bit pricey but we felt it was worth it. Living without TV didn't bother us. They are very strict about their refund policy. So check it out before you reserve. We would stay here again. This is a good option if you plan to tour Yellowstone NP. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

No large grocery stores nearby. However, Robin's Roost, about 4 miles south on HWY 20 has a decent selection of basic items. The fishing in nearby Henry's fork lake was spotty at best.

Park is only 5 miles off the highway but might as well 50. No cable, no antenna tv, weak Verizon signal, weak wifi. But this is a place to get away from it all. The park is well kept and staff is very friendly and helpful. Great views in all directions. The only negatives I have are the gravel sites that get muddy when it rains.
