If you are in a complete recreational vehicle with showers and toilets you might consider this place. In the main bathroom there was only one toilet and two showers. There was one Porta potty that gets cleaned once a week at the most it was nasty. If you are a tent camper or you like a little more space than the exact space of a giant RV do not use this place. It is basically a place to feel like a sardine crammed in a small area. We camped at Mary's Place in a Tent Trailer.

Positive: Staff is friendly. Lots of shade. Wifi is pretty good. Negative : Camping is door to door, limited privacy. The campground is mostly empty but they still crammed someone next to us. Roads are dusty, lots of highway and train noise. Charges an extra $10 per night for a small car that is kept at your site. No overflow parking. Overall expensive and inconsiderate. We camped at Mary's Place in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Mary's Place from a Thursday to a Monday a couple weeks ago (June 2017). We loved it. We pulled in on Thursday the camp ground was beautiful tons of mature trees and grass. You do have to go over a bridge to get to the entrance, but do not worry we made it with our 45 ft 5th wheel in tow. It is beautiful to cross the river. The camp host/managers meet you at the entrance and escort you to your spot. They are super friendly and helpful. We have slides on both sides along with a side and rear patio. We could put them all out in our pull thru spot. We could walk down to the river and put our feet in right away. Lots of room to walk our dogs also. We had full hookups with 50amp. Also got a good number of channels on our antenna. They had great wifi even when the place was packed we could stream movies. Most spots have fire-pits and if yours does not you can rent one. We had full hookups, so we did not use the showers/bathrooms, but did check them out and they seemed clean and nice. The only downfall for us was no on-site laundry room luckily there was one just down the road. Now since it is the summer season it was very quiet on Thursday then this place (the entire town) exploded on Friday to Sunday. There was not a single spot left by late Friday night. If you want peace and quiet stay between Monday and Thursday if you want to be super social stay the weekend. I am so glad we did not pull out til Monday as it was crazy watching everyone leave on Sunday. But, the host made sure Friday night and Sunday everyone could get in and out safely. There is also a walking path to the river where a hot spring pours into it and you can sit and enjoy the warm water while watching people tube by on the river. We camped at Mary's Place in a Fifth Wheel.

You can walk to town if you want. We drove. We enjoyed tubing the river, going to the Olympic pool and hot pools and went ziplining. Lots of things to do in Lave.

Kiera and Dave were wonderful. Friendly and extremely helpful. They keep these campgrounds immaculate. We had absolutely no problems. Close to tubing and ziplining and town (all 4 blocks). We will be back soon! Loved it! We camped at Mary's Place in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great park to stay at. It is well maintained, clean bathrooms - the main bathrooms are closed from 10pm to 8pm but regularly cleaned Porta Potties are available with hand sanitizer for the night. Trees are large, most (if not all) spaces had a picnic table, a tree for shade and a fire ring. The river is nearby but well fenced off - the only RV park we found in Lava Hot Springs with that feature (we travel with little children so that's a great feature!). The staff was friendly, they are hard to reach by phone but leave a message and they will call back. They go out in person and make sure you find the right site and will not answer the phone while checking another camper in. This is a non-profit campground run by the Sheriff's Association and managed by a retired sheriff. Probably not the campground for anyone who wants to party all night!!! (I'm chuckling as I type that!) I toured the other campgrounds that I could find in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and this was by far the best I could find. I recommend this campground, it will accommodate large rv's. It is not paved but we didn't mind. We camped at Mary's Place in a Tent Trailer.

Since you cannot put specifics on this website, lets just say the staff is 'get in your face' rude. The sites are on top of each other. The river view sites are way above the river and you can barely see it if you lean over the fence. You are right off the main road so there is a lot of traffic noise. They lock up the bathrooms at night so we did not use them. And make sure you read the list of rules, because they are all over you, if you break them. The shade trees were great and they did come around and pick up your trash. I would not stay here again. We camped at Mary's Place in a Travel Trailer.

As far as Lava goes, Mary's place is a decent place to stay, if not the best RV park in Lava Hot Springs. Due to the draw of the pools, RV's pay a premium to stay in Lava. To sum this park up, it is a large grassy area with mature trees. The spots are very close. The hookups are older but seemed to work well for us. The staff was accommodating, not super friendly. The entrance to the park is a single lane road and can be tricky as you cross the river. We had cars trying to go around us as the line to check in pushed us back a ways. Once checked in, our site was adequate. Still on the expensive side, but we knew that going in. The fire pits are small and we decided to not have a fire as the smoke and noise would have been right near the side of the RV next to us. The train is annoying, however it adds flavor. The park was quiet after hours. We did hear they had an issue with dogs as owners were not picking up after them. I would hate to see them ban dogs as many people travel with their pet. We did not see any problem, but that could have been due to the park owners cleaning it up. Overall, a nice place that will probably only get better as all the money they make goes right back into the park. I'm looking forward to seeing what improvements they make! We camped at Mary's Place in a Motorhome.

Beautiful little park in a beautiful location. The Good: Friendly greetings; a quiet park (we were here during the week, I think weekends are busier); just far enough away from town for peace and quiet, but close enough to walk to the Hot Springs, which are amazing. This park is right up against the hill behind the KOA park, so the train is further away and relatively quiet. Trains tend to blow their whistles at the other end of town. Nice grassy location. The only thing I regretted was that we were right under a light. The stars are amazing if you can put a tree or two between you and the lights. The one warning I would issue is the water pressure is extremely high (95 lbs). We blew out a hose, but without our regulator we could have damaged our RV. Would stay here again when we are in the Lava Hot Springs area. We camped at Mary's Place in a Fifth Wheel.

Despite the lack of reviews, this is THE BEST place to stay in Lava Hot Springs. It is SO much better than the adjacent park that you will be kicking yourself if you stay there. It's excellent and one of the prettiest campgrounds we've stayed at. The reason there are no reviews is that the place has recently changed owners -- it was part of an estate that was left to charity and now it is run by different owners as a non-profit. All of the money goes towards improvements to the campground and to charity. The campground itself is beautiful, with grassy sites and very nice trees, beautifully landscaped. The pull-through sites are very long and wide with full hook-ups. They could fit very big RV, unlike the nearby park which is extremely tight. The campground backs up to a very pretty hill and is adjacent to the river. Just gorgeous. The location is perfect for visiting the hot springs, which are walking distance away. The people running the campground are extremely friendly and helpful as well. The only reason we didn't give this campground a 10 is because it only has 30-amp power. There is also a noisy train that passes by right across the road, but this would be a problem no matter where you stayed. Finally, if you are wondering if the hot springs themselves are worth visiting, they are. They are run by the state and are immaculate. While they are certainly developed and touristy, they are nicely done. The bottoms of most of the pools are made of pebbles, which feel great on your feet. The hot springs have no sulfur, so they don't stink. Wonderfully relaxing and pretty too. Definitely worth a stop. We camped at Mary's Place in a Fifth Wheel.
