The park might be renovating, but presently the parking space is nothing more than pit run, not level and very rough. Looks like new electrical pedestal is new. Wifi was slow. Very expensive, even for one night. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Very expensive, OK for one night but pricy. I guess its supply and demand, although the place was almost empty the night we stayed here. The park looked like it was new or totally renovated. Lots were sunny and open and featured a picnic table.

About an hour plus from Jackson, Wyoming so I guess that's how they get the high price. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Beautiful location 0n Montpelier Creek about two miles from "downtown" Montpelier. Sites are large and level with table and BBQ, good TV although Internet is spotty. Staff was fairly cold at check-in. Pool closed for the season. Very quiet. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Campground is convenient to town, yet is a quiet location and nice setting (short trail by the creek is a delight). Staff was friendly and helpful and seemed to assign sites so that we were not all right next to each other. One of the nicer KOA's we've stayed at. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We went as bit out of our way to stay here because were here 2 years ago and were pleased with the park. See my 8/14 review for a detailed description of the park facilities. Since then, new owners took over the park in April, 2016. They seem to still be in a bit of a learning stage. We had reserved a FHU, pull through site with cable TV and also satellite friendly. After we checked in, we got to our assigned site and it was already occupied. Fortunately, this is a small site and it was less than 100' back to the office. I met the owner on the way there and she offered me any of several sites in the same row that met our wants and needs. The real problem I had was that the owner did not offer an apology for the mistake. While we were here, they lost water to one section of sites and were busy with that. The owners and their 3 school age boys appear to be doing all the work at the park. As great as this sounds, I have a problem seeing 10-13 year old kids zooming around the park in golf carts. Even if they are doing park work like picking up the garbage, this is a safety issue. Many parks and states consider underage drivers illegal because it is so potentially dangerous. The cable is only 25 channels (we are back in "no Comedy Central country") and their WIFI worked fine for our, as usual, minimal usage. I saw no sign of any recycling. The park was not busy (maybe 1/3 full) the night we were here. They might be losing some of the long time regular customers of the former owner because the new owners are not locals. They seems like nice folks and I wish them well. The cost is still too high for the limited amenities. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

As with most KOA's we visited, lots of kids and very noisy. Kids' balls in the lanes (we had to navigate around them in our motorhome) and camp hosts didn't appear to monitor the excessive noise & disruption. The playground is open from 7 a.m. til dark; pool from 11 a.m. til 8 p.m. Tight lanes on the backside of the park but spacious pull-thru's. We had an abundance of side space on the door side, which is not usual at most parks. Small park, and facilities are well-maintained. Cannot run generators! Only one vehicle per site. If you have a grassy site, cannot lay a rug or mat on the grass. You are allowed to wash your rig/vehicle at the site - and water their grass for them, too! No swimming or wading in the creek. Altho there is a fire pit at the site, you cannot gather your own firewood. Very strict rules. WiFi was very aggravating. No cable TV--Grainy channels. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park. Even though the location was remote the internet and cable worked well.

The gravel lots are spacious, open and sunny. There is a picnic table and a fire ring at the sites. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

We were greeted warmly outside upon our arrival and given full information about the property. Very well kept and extremely well packed aggregate and beautiful grounds. How do they keep it so nice? All grounds were easy to walk on and drive on. Completely flat and smooth. Green grass well maintained. Clean fire pit and surroundings. Shower facilities immaculate even to my crazy high standards. Weather channel was on in the perfectly warmed shower rooms. Bright and well lit. I can't recommend this place highly enough. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Truck Camper.

A favorite KOA to visit; we plan travels to/from Yellowstone NP to stop over at this well maintained campground. Pride of ownership evident in every detail. Level gravel sites with grass and shade tree, good connectivity of hook ups, Wi-Fi, and satellite. Great creek trail and clean, enclosed dog park. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

A picturesque, small footprint campground. A bit pricey though. Barely big rig friendly. Gravel roadways and sites. Typical KOA privacy. Nice fencing, pathways, and mature trees/shrubs throughout. Very engaging owners. Good wifi. Nice pool. Would think this sets the standard for KOA campgrounds. Good for an overnight stay. Definitely a destination campground as well. Would stay again. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. There is a stream running through the camp that adds great aesthetic feel. The cabins are comfortable and the owners are awesome. We would stay at this camp again and again. It is very family friendly and has great amenities including a nice pool, pavilion, and play areas. The store is well stocked and Montpelier is nearby. In 30 years of camping this is our families favorite place to gather for reunions and just plain fun. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Cabin.

This KOA keeps getting better and better. You should plan your travels through Idaho just to stay here, especially if you are on your way to or from Yellowstone or the Tetons, or following the Oregon Trail. The park is easy to get to, the sites are wide and the trees are trimmed up. They have a great fenced in dog run that you can actually throw a ball in and exercise your dog. There is a nice walking trail too. There was a family catching fish in the creek which was fun to watch. The workers and owners are friendly and helpful. Most sites are satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi worked well and given the remote location we felt lucky to have it. There is excellent Verizon and AT&T service in the park as well; and the cable TV had a clear picture. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one weeknight in early August and had a fairly level, gravel, FHU, pull-through site. The cable TV was only 24 channels (another cable system that does not have Comedy Central). Our site was roof satellite friendly, but many are not. Of the listed 50 sites, only 34 are for RVs (21 FHU and 13 W&E). The rest of the sites are for tents, cabins, and tee-pees. The Wi-Fi network was OK at our site. The pool was refreshing and there is playground equipment for the kids. The nature walk is nothing more than a 100' path through the trees and bushes along the creek. I have no idea why other reviewers rave about this "nature trail". The laundry is OK but the bathrooms are barely adequate for a park with tent sites and pop up customers. The staff were pleasant and friendly. While the is a nice park, it does have its' negatives: the price, limited FHU and/or big rig friendly sites, limited cable and satellite access, and no recycling that I could find. We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Motorhome.
