This park is run by the nicest people. Based on what we saw, they cater to the small trailers with families. For my choice of words, "Campground" best describes the resort. The roads that were once gravel, are mostly dirt. The majority of the sites are dirt and we saw that the majority of the customers have older trailers or motorhomes. If you care about your rig, this might be the wrong place to be. There is a very weak Wi Fi signal, too many trees for a satellite signal and no ability to wash your rig. This park has a lake for swimming, hiking trails and a lot of dirt. Note: there are several pull through sites that would great for high end coaches, if gravel would be added in the future. We don't like dirt. It seems that the owners work extremely hard but, in our opinion, have missed the boat by not attracting high end rigs with cleaner sites. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Our site was a long pull thru, level but no shade.....the other sites I saw the backing in sites were mostly level and a lot of shade....we had full hookup with 50 amp...the park is big rig friendly and the owners are great, very nice couple who are doing a great job keeping up with the campground....the bathroom/shower house are nice single rooms just like at home, there are only 3 and with 30 some sites u may have to wait your turn....the laundry was small 2 washers and only I dryer was working but we all managed to stay out of each other's way and wait your turn...decent WiFi in our section of the park, good ATT cell signal and we got about 20 tv stations ota....family oriented with a small lake to kayak, fish or sit and relax...they have beer and wine in the evenings if you wish to join....the trains do come by frequently and at night blowing their whistle but we liked to hear the trains so it didn't bother us....nice area right next to highway if headed to Canada it's a great stop off for a couple of days.....we would return if in the area..... We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful area....go to the wildlife nature refuge in Bonner's ferry....also Anheuser Busch has a agricultural farm up here where they grow the 'hops' used in their beer, very interesting farm.....shopping and eating in nearby Bonner's ferry makes this a nice place to relax....

Lovely setting in the woods with random site locations. Mature trees and ample shade. Small lake to fish, swim or kayak. Evening get togethers on the deck overlooking the lake. Only serious draw back is the train whistle noise (no fault of the owner). Train whistle is loud and frequent. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great stop on your way back from or to Canada. We have stayed here before and knew about the train noise. Only other issue is the Wi-fi which is weak and intermittent.

There is a mix is pull-thru, back-in and pull-in sites, full hook-ups and partial hook-up. We had a pull-in with 30amp electric and water. Driveways and site pads are gravel and dirt so there is dust. Also, there is train noise. They come through during the night and blast their horn right by the RV park so use your ear plugs and white noise. The couple that own and manage the park are super nice and seemed to be out working in the park every day. They keep everything clean, in fact we felt that the laundry room was the cleanest we have seen at any RV park. We had nice shade so we couldn't get satellite TV but we were able to get good over the air stations. The WiFi worked well for us. We paid $39.69 per night. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pretty much the same opinion of the previous reviews. Nice park if they could move it away from the noise. The small lake has docks, boats, fishing & swimming with a nice big grassy area for the kids to play in. We did have a fire ring and a small fire so that was nice. The gravel road into the park is very bad and needs some major work. 'A' loop is pull-through and we had a hard time fitting our truck in next to the 5th wheel. There are mature trees so NO Dish satellite. A lot of noise from the highway & trains that run right next to park. If we have a choice we won't be back. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great little campground, right off Hwy 2. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Owner switched our assigned site without us asking , so we didn't have to unhook. We appreciated the lovely, shaded site. There's a great deck overlooking the small lake where they serve wine and beer in the evenings. Try the Huckleberry Mimosa - delicious! Very well maintained camp. We would certainly return if we are in the area again. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Park shows pride of ownership. The owner has added little touches that make a big difference. Restrooms are clean and nice. The dog park is the best one we've seen in our travels, and he has dog trails that are off leash that our puppies loved! Owners were always working, keeping the dust down (it was very warm). Everything was always in order -- the lake, canoes. Wine bar in the evening. Just a wonderful place to stay! We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We were escorted to our site which was fairly level with full shade. The CG itself is a bit hilly. Some sites are almost fully shaded while others are open. The lake is pretty and others were swimming. We passed a leisurely afternoon there. We enjoyed the dog trail that lead to the fenced in dog park which was secure. Staff was helpful and friendly. Train noise hourly, got used to it. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with the owner working hard to keep it up to date and pleasant. The little lake is deep and clear and would be a blast to swim in and the owner provides life jackets. However there is no playground for little ones. Trains are very loud and frequent. This is the reason I took off points as this is a lot of money to pay for not being able to sleep at night. Also this was our first campground back in the states after going through the horrific border patrol at the Canada Idaho border. The two things that cannot be controlled by this owner are the trains and border patrol so if you do not think these will bother you by all means this is the place to go in the area. We will not be able to stay here again. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Beware of US customs at this border crossing into US. Very rude, unprofessional, harassing and intimidating of older couple with grandson. We have crossed the border many many times, 3 times on this trip alone, and never encountered anything like this.

This park has something for everyone. Perfect balance of easily accessed campsites and Mother Nature. It has big rig friendly pull thru sites overlooking the lake. Tent sites on the shore of the lake. A mix of pull thru and back in sites nestled in the trees. They have a few cabins and tent cabins available for rent. There's a large off leash area for pets. Wine and beer bar open in the evening during the summer. It's a great spot for families and couples that are traveling thru northern Idaho. The couple that own and run this park go out of there way to make sure you enjoy your stay. If you need restaurant, fishing or site seeing recommendations they have you covered. I stopped in here for 3 nights in June and ended up using this campground as my base camp to enjoy the surrounding lakes, rivers and mountains of northern Idaho till November. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a rustic slightly neglected family oriented campground, staff were pleasant at check in. Interior roads are gravel, and big rig access was fair. Our level gravel pull through site was wide enough but not long enough to leave our towed connected. There was not a lot of privacy between sites, there were plenty of trees and we had a picnic table and fire ring, we also had a peek of the small lake through the trees. The older style bathrooms had been updated and were clean, the laundry was adequate. Fairly pet friendly with pick up bags. Wifi was okay and AT&T signal was adequate. This campground is located next to the train tracks and a very busy road, so noise is pretty much 24/7. The road into and out of the campground is pretty rough too. We would not stay here again. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The campground is located very close to the highway but any noise dies down at night. Be very careful of the turn to the campground road if you are coming from the south. The entrance road from the highway to the train tracks is extremely rough so go dead slow. There are a few trains but if you are further back in the campground they will not be bothersome. The campground is only a few miles from Bonners Ferry which is somewhat interesting to explore. We also did a hike to Snow Creek Falls (a little hard to find) which is a very nice walk in the woods. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Shaded sites. Unusual layout but it worked. Situated in the pines, we were still able to get a satellite signal. Laundry was old and the dryers were the slowest in the Western Hemisphere. The hosts were were very helpful and friendly. Sites were not very level. Lots and lots and lots of trains. Close by, really close. We like them. Be very careful crossing the busy tracks. You cross a very busy railroad track on the way into the campground. Trains go by day and night blowing their whistle. Depending on whether you have the A/C running and if you are a light sleeper they can be a bother. I love trains so it was music to my ears. The campground has many levels but is very easy to maneuver. My pull-through was very level. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Directed me to my site. Beautiful lake. The bath/shower house has individual bathrooms just like you have at home. You walk into a complete private bathroom with full shower and lock the door behind you. Clean and inexpensive laundry room. WiFi was poor but I was not very close to the office. A nice selection of over the air TV stations available. Full hookup utilities easy access and good location on the site. Between the pull-through sites there is a nice small solid fence shielding your neighbor's sewer hookup from view at your picnic table. There are several trees between the pull-throughs but not at every site. The rest of the campground has a huge canopy of trees. I stayed here for 2 weeks. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to the highway so easy in and out, but if coming from the south go past the entrance, make a U-turn just up the road at a wide pull off. Come back south on the highway and the sharp turn onto the campground road is easier.

Great place to stay while you explore Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, Naples, Canada, and the surrounding forests. Naples has a great General Store that also includes the post office. It also has yummy homemade cookies and ice cream cones. And just about anything else. Bonners Ferry has some great places to eat. A museum and a great history.
