This is a beautiful park, right on river. They have an island that is off leash park for dogs. Our dog loved it. The people are very friendly. This was our second visit and we DEFINITELY stay again. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We camped here with an RV caravan, all 26 rigs were close together. Some of us had pull-in sites and our rigs faced the river, very scenic and tranquil. It is big rig friendly with level sites. We were traveling on US 93. Showers and WiFi was OK. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Easy on/off to US 93. Showers and WiFi was good. No dog park but two off lease fields to walk dog. Very pretty scenic view of river and good overnight stay. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here many years. The quality of the park since new owners is not as nice. The grass is lacking and mainly dry and not so green. The interior roads of park Need road base and rocks on top also the sites. Hard to walk around without feet and shoes getting dirty. When the wind blows dust blows too. The rest is the same. Also they charge $10 for dumping septic even if a paying customer. That is the first we have heard of that anywhere we have stayed. Charge for dogs and charge families for having children. To us pricey for what you get. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice campground. Reasonable sized gravel spaces. Nice and level. Some had full hookups some just power and water. On the river so that was nice. They have a off leash dog area and the dogs (And people) can swim in the river. Owners were friendly and helpful. Their wifi is terrible and only kind of works. No cell service on Verizon at least. Be prepared to be completely off the grid. 20 minutes or so drive to town. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pretty, well maintained park. Stayed 3 nights on a river front space. The park is grass not concrete, which we prefer, space was level. Very well run, with professional and very nice staff. I would highly recommend the Wagonhammer. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Many wonderful sites right on the river. Very clean Campground. They were always working to keep it nice. Sites were level. Trees interspersed. Was a great vacation spot. Store on site is more of a gift shop. Don't plan on being able to buy food or camping supplies. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Riverfront sites are larger than the pull thrus. If you do not need a sewer connection, the river front sites are great! Utility connections are at the rear of the sites. Pull thru sites are about 65+ feet long and a bit narrow, IMO. Scenery is really nice. All sites are close to the river and far from the road, so road noise is minimal, except for the occasional Jake brake or straight piped bike. The other commercial campgrounds in North Fork are much closer to the road. Heavy rains will create big pools, but they're pretty much gone the next day. Did I mention the scenery is nice? No fenced in dog area, but the "island" was great for running the dogs. Not all dog owners were diligent about picking up after their dogs though. Lots of forest service roads in the area to explore. Town of Salmon is about 20 min south and has everything you need, even a theater that shows first run movies. Surprised me for such a small town in a remote area. Would stay here again, maybe for a month. Monthly rate of $500 is crazy cheap compared to daily and weekly rates. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sharkey Hot Springs is about 45 min south. Tie it into a scenic backways drive and make a great day of it. There is an Amish store in Baker, en route to the scenic backway. Pick up lunch there, but it is closed Sun and Thurs. The ghost town of Shoup isn't worth the drive, except for the scenery and the Firefighters Memorial on the way there. Foodies might like the Junkyard Bistro in Salmon.

We spent 3 nights in a river front spot with an amazing view. We stayed in this big rig friendly park in late October when the campground was maybe 1/3 full. Super nice owners and fellow campers. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful riverside location, awesome staff, clean facilities. This trip, the river was at flood stage and there was water everywhere- many sites were under water- and mosquitoes were the worst I've seen in many years. Still, a very nice spot and the owners and staff are truly great! Fun happy hour. $10 fee to use the dump station, believe it or not. Parked in second row so as to have full hookups. The sites in the front row are just a few feet from the Salmon River. There was only one RV in front so our view of the river was great. This Park sits in a valley and the views are great! Would like to come back and stay for a week or more. Many sites have fire rings but ours did not. Staff is very helpful. The town of Salmon is about 20 miles away. Had a great lunch at Bertram's Brewery on the main drag. Good selection of craft beers and very reasonably priced entrees.

We we're here in the shoulder season and were able to pick a site right under some large shade trees, right by the river. Beautiful location with water, electric only. Good wifi at our site. Verizon cell service non existent but campground says it's available by the store. Owners host a byob happy hour on the big porch behind the store every evening. Hosts were friendly and very helpful. Couldn't be more pleased and would highly recommend the campsite, especially during this time of year. We camped at Wagonhammer RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
