This was one of the nicest and cleanest RV parks I have ever been to. As other reviewers mentioned, they are pretty serious about their grass. We didn't have a dog, didn't need to build a fire and had a propane grill, so none of those things mattered to us. The store and restaurant are definitely closed though. One night, travel trailer. Full water and sewer hook ups. We camped at Salmon River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Disregard nearly everything currently on their web site - it's mostly LIES. There's NO "free gourmet coffee," NO "warm cinnamon buns," and NO "cozy camp store with everything you need" and "NO video rentals." There are also NO campfires allowed, no BBQ grills allowed, and while dogs are allowed, they are forbidden to step on the grass. (No, I'm not kidding.) Basically there's NO fun to be had here. The owners are more interested in (obsessed with!) maintaining tiny patches of grass (and "keeping their gravel clean") than they are with their guests having a good time. Other than road noise, as they're extremely close to the highway, the place is quiet. The bathrooms are clean, BUT they should be! They charge an EXTRA $5.00 Per PERSON, Per DAY to use them! (Yes, I'm serious!) All the RVs were crammed together on one side of this small park because, I was told, the other side is for one-nighters only. So, why were there two RVs on the other (nicer) side an entire week? This place was well situated only for hiking Goldbug Hot Springs, but it is 22 miles from Salmon, which means a 44 mile round trip to stock up, go rafting, go to the Sacajawea Cultural Center, or to take advantage of any of the fun things going on in Salmon (because there is NOTHING to do at this campground except get the hairy eyeball from the rude owners every time you walk outside). If you want to relax, have fun, enjoy a campfire, and enjoy your visit - GO TO ANOTHER RV PARK!

We definitely won't be back EVER. We camped at Salmon River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Do not use this park if you don't have to! Their website is so false and misleading it is unreal. The cafe was closed down for the season, even though it indicated that it should have been open. The so-called 'Hot Springs' they advertise about is a FIVE MILE WALK and it isn't even a place you can use - as per the words of the owner of this park "I believe that it is privately owned now so you might have to check with the people that own it". We were also told that the dogs could go in the grass, but yet they allowed vehicles to park on the grass. Not impressed at all!! We camped at Salmon River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This RV Park is the one closest to the center of the town of Salmon. We were able to ride bikes to the park, river, the movie theater and Main Street restaurants. Most of the spaces are filled with permanent people. It looked like this park is trying not to slide down-hill. It was fine for a short stay with clean, warm, large showers with plenty of privacy and hot water. The cottonwood trees provide plenty of shade, but we were still able to receive satellite TV. The washers and dryers cost only $1.00 for each machine. We camped at Salmon River RV Park in a Motorhome.

A welcome site after a long drive up the 75 and 93. Owners are great hosts. Quiet and clean campground with an albino mule deer as the campground visitor. As someone else said, Elk Bend is a much overlooked town along the Salmon River. This traveler gives Salmon River RV Park a big thumbs up! We camped at Salmon River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
