Wallace, ID is a wonderful little town. Wallace RV Park is a great little park. It is small but clean, neat, quaint and friendly (with a GREAT restaurant on the property). We were on site 14 (30 on the site map) and, because of its angle, we had plenty of room on our social side and backed up to a really pretty babbling brook. The utilities were good, but no wifi. Our only complaint about the park was that parking your RV can be a challenge. If the park is full or close to full you don't have room to swing and negotiate the elements of backing in. One day in particular we had to move our truck 4 times to give others enough room to park. We didn't mind the moving, but you should know you might have to knock on a door and ask someone to move their vehicle. The park is within walking distance to town and the town is SO worth seeing. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very nice small park with easy drive/walk into town. Stayed here last year and came back knowing it is good for quiet times. Lots to see in town and also around the area--old mines/history, etc. Small problem you many need to be aware of--pull-thrus are only 30 amp, if you need 50 amp, it will be a back-in. Also, the pull-thrus are accessed directly off the side road along the park and have a dip in front of them--many gouges from dragging rears of long-overhang units, mine included. Food/beverages are good at the adjacent City Brew Pub/grill. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty to see/do in town--historic places without the touristy hype and same stuff seen everywhere else. Good eating at the 1313 Bar/Grille. May only be 2 fuel stations in town, about 20c higher than Missoula. If you are thinking about a new Ram pickup--world's largest dealer is in Kellogg about 15 miles west, well known for good deals. Nice small town and friendly people.

Overall Rating:

This park has full hook ups and is pretty close quarters with your neighbors. That said, it is in a neat little town and has a restaurant and microbrewery on site. The food and craft beer from the restaurant were very good. There is a "Melodrama" play performed in the old Wallace Theater a block away. Being walking distance from anything in Wallace is a major reason for staying at this park, which makes up for the lack of typical campground amenities like picnic tables and fire rings, and a bit more space between campers. There is a small creek that runs along side the campground, and runs under the building housing the brewpub and restaurant. All in all a nice place to stay for a few days while taking in all the neat little town of Wallace has to offer. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Two craft breweries in town (one is onsite), a Melodrama at the Old School Wallace Theater, tours available of the worlds largest silver mine which is still open and producing. Really neat small town in a valley surrounded by mountains.

Overall Rating:

The perks of this park are really the town itself. We ended up there on a weekend and the campground really has more of "parking lot" feel than a campground. There really isn't enough room for the tow vehicles so the place gets cramped and getting out was tight. Luckily the people around were respectful which is necessary when you're that close together. There are a few pull-through sites that have a bit more room at the far end. There aren't any trees, but the campground location is in a narrow valley so you don't get sun that long during the day. The grass at our pull-through site was dead. No picnic tables at sites. No wi-fi except at the restaurant. The park charges per person and I can see why -- some sites had tents in addition to RVs. Very close together.

The town is fun. Do the mine tour that meets in town. They take you to a mine with functioning equipment and show you a drill running, muck rakers, etc. The ghost town bus tour was good too. The railroad depot museum is nice (right by the park). Everything is walking distance. A lot of the people staying at the park are there for the bicycle trails, so there are lots of bicycles. ATVs are common too and street legal in town. There is a nice bicycle trail right from the park. There are many festivals during the year -- see what is going on in advance. They had an accordion festival when we were there and it was fun that accordion players were practicing down at the restaurant patio. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very basic park, owners are putting all their efforts into the bar/grill (and it is packed!). If the park was full we would have a tough time fitting as our awning extends into the next site, not enough room for tow vehicle either. They only have 30 amp and your satellite will not see anything but trees. Restrooms can be far away if you don't like a nice stroll. Seems most people here have ATVs, but they are quiet and just ride them in and out. Quiet park at night cannot hear I-90 and our back window looks over the creek. WiFi works great, but you have to sit at the café. If you want a basic park, close to the Hiawatha, this works. If you have slides and are over 35' ask a lot of questions before committing. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small, well kept campground. Most of the sites are back-in with a few pull-throughs. The interior road is paved with some of the sites paved while others are on gravel. All sites have FHU. The electrical pedestal had 20/30 amp service. The water/electric and sewer are situated at the back of the site. You will need at least a 20 foot sewer hose to reach the sewer. The bathrooms are fairly new and are spotless. Verizon wireless air card and phone worked well here. It was very quiet at night. The town of Wallace is within easy walking distance. We would definitely come back again. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The park is in an ideal location, within easy walking distance of one of the cutest towns in America. We stayed here for 3 weeks in August 2011 and found the park to be well maintained and the staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. There are several amenities lacking that we find in other (more expensive) parks. However, we did not find any of these to be critical. The lack of wifi access at our site was offset by a decent (Verizon) cellphone/data plan signal. We normally don't use cable TV, and the DTV satellite signal at our (road-side) spot was good despite the steep canyon walls. For us, a 50 amp connection is only critical if we want to run both air conditioners. The park's location in a deep canyon has all spaces in total shade by 5PM with a virtual guarantee of mild temperatures. This appears to be is a well run little park and we would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located just N of I-90 near the city of Wallace [walking distance]. The location is great as Wallace is a very cool town. The downsides are that the sites are tight, narrow road, no shade, 30 amp only, no TV. The sites do have a grass area but no tables. There is a nice bar at the south end of the park that serves a limited menu. Staff is helpful and considerate. We wanted to spend more time in Wallace but needed a little more comfortable park w/50 amp so we only stayed 1 nite here and moved to another park nearby. Would be fine for an overnight if you didn't need 50 Amp. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I too would like to give a perfect 10 but because of my rating system the park loses 2 points for no table and no fire ring. The new owners are certainly energetic and making this a place that deserves to be supported. We found this place by accident after bypassing a dump, charging $5 more, a few exits to the west. We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Now under new ownership. New name is Wallace RV Park. Beautiful, clean and very friendly owners. They purchased it last Sept. 2010 and have done a lot of remodeling. They own the campground, City Pub next to the campground and have plans for a restaurant in the future. They have built a few cabins and a new bathroom / shower house facility. Campground is within walking distance of downtown Historical Wallace, Idaho. There are many great biking and hiking trails to explore. We loved it! We camped at Wallace RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
