Like others have said, it is what it is, a truck yard. But, it is close to the beach at Lake Michigan, close to the Navy Pier, and about a 15 dollar Uber ride to downtown. Was not too trashy, was pretty quiet, and there were about 2 dozen RVs there when we spent the night. Would definitely stay again as there is no place else close. - DogFriendlyGuy

This place is, after all, a truck yard. You do have to plan (& call) ahead. But, you're only a couple miles down the lake front from the Navy Pier, & dead across Lakeshore Dr from the 31st St beach. For the money, this close to downtown, Urban Boondocking works for this camper. Will stop here again. - BillHan1959

We welcomed the "adventure". We felt the location warranted the discomfort. We are generally comfortable staying at Walmarts, casinos and truck stops as necessary. In attempting to use the online system to purchase "tickets" (one ticket for each 24 hour period), we had tech problems. Customer Service was responsive, resolved the situation, issued our tickets and refunded a duplicate charge to our credit card. So far, so good. The day before we were to check-in, we drove to the lot in our toad to check for low bridges and preview the layout. The lot attendant told us the lot was closed and that, if we showed up the next day, we would be turned way regardless of our protest that we had prepaid tickets. He suggested we call his mgr. We did and never received a return call. We decided not to go. We did not want to be stuck in downtown Chicago with a 40' rig plus toad. We contacted Customer Service and were granted a full refund. I suspect the "closed lot" tied into the the fact that there was a Bears Monday Night Football game two days out (not that makes it ok). Bottom line - this is not an RV park and doesn't act like one. We would be willing to try it again one day but would have a contingency plan. - GottaGoNow

We just stopped here overnight on our way east and I am glad that we only stayed overnight because I wouldn't want to be here for two nights. Very little improvements have been done in this park, just a grass area with hookups and poor gravel roads. Even the office is in poor shape. Grass has grown up about a foot high around a lot of the campers which means that they are there long term, mostly people that work in the area. I definitely wouldn't want to stay here again. - Linda Allan

This is not a campground. This is a transient facility for tradesmen, i.e. pipeline workers, carnies, etc.
Some people live here year round, by the looks of the sites and campers.
No restrictions on how old your rig is.. bring in your beast.
Rates to me are too high. take it or leave it attitude.
$700 a month for 50 amp with Water and sewer.
Gossipy workers/owners. People come in all hours of the night.
You will get a tongue lashing if you go over the speed limit of 10 MPH.
No campfires. No ice. Very cramped conditions. Many run down sites.
I-80 Road noise 24/7. No buffer for noise control.
I needed this facility as a place to stay while on contractual work in the area.
Otherwise, I would avoid. - josephine Plumber
Apr 2016 - $42.00
This park has very unlevel, very close, sunny/open grass only sites. Very rude people as well as workers living there. Not worth the time or money to put up with drunks throwing things. Very scared! It was better to leave. - Sheilagramm
May 2017 - $40.00
We decided to give this campground a try for its location. Despite all of the outdated reviews we gave it a try. I'm glad we did. We had no issues. It was quiet, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. - AdventureIsMyMiddleName
May 2013 - $35.00
While the setting for this campground is excellent, the execution is just shy of horrible! The only reason we stayed at this park was its proximity to family and friends. I would never do so again. Go across the border to Indiana, do not come here! The bathrooms are all but unusable, and my wife has refused to use the shower in the ladies room. I didn't think the previous reviews could be true, but believe them. - Phil_S
Mar 2013 - $42.00
This is a very rustic campground with no paved roads or concrete pads. We were very disappointed in the general conditions present and the mud was so bad from the rain the previous day that we nearly got our dually stuck twice just getting to the site. We opted to leave and stay at another park due to the conditions we found in the winter time. It may be more appealing in the summer months, but we cannot recommend it during any kind of wet weather. - RVGFulltimers

Pluses: One of the closer RV parks to Chicago but still a long drive depending on where you go in the city. Nice grassy spaces, lots of trees quiet Minuses: obvious that the RV Park is an afterthought, pads are small and when it rains the roads, which are paved but have a chalky soil around them make quite a mess! We ALWAYS check electricity before plugging in and checked 4 sites before we found one that was wired correctly or in good working order! No other amenities except you do get a free breakfast in the hotel. - Cherzie33
May 2017 - $36.00
We stayed here from April 26 to May 1, 2017. It rained entire time here. The power pedestal failed to work. We called the RV Park office (which is the casino hotel), and they dispatched a couple of guys who normally work the casino. They tested the pedestal and said it worked fine. We complained the next day, and someone else admitted that several of the pedestals were out and that they were working on them. We finally got power from the 50 amp outlet, but it wasn't full 50 amps, it was far less, and not enough to power our microwave. Aside from a dedicated restroom and laundry room, this RV Park offers little else. You can get much more for your money from a KOA, and still pay the same amount. This RV Park did offer complimentary hot breakfast as part of the Hotel service. This RV Park does not have its own dedicated staff, it instead is administered by the Hotel staff, who is not trained or prepared in the business of running an RV Park. - RoadPickle
Sep 2016 - $40.00
We have often stayed here the last night before returning home from a trip south. For a variety of reasons, we are staying here on our first night headed south. There are no at site sewers but there is a dump behind the casino hotel. The sites have W&E and are mostly back in, but about 15 are pull through. There is no cable TV, but most sites appear to be satellite friendly. Once again, I was not happy with the condition of the bathrooms. This happens when casinos manage their RV parks as if they are second class accommodations. Since the RV park office is still not manned, it looks like the bathrooms had not been cleaned since the weekend. The WI-FI was unreliable. The sites are OK, but the facilities are substandard and there are no real amenities. You are paying too much for too little. I stayed here in an RV spot - thus, I did not camp here. - Jerry S
Jul 2013 - $34.00
This is not a campground. This is a transient workplace for people like carnival workers, pipeline workers, welders, carpenters, and workers who are seasonal. The camp host seems nice. Place is very run down. From throwing my trash out before leaving, I saw that they do like their beer. Had I known, I would have stayed elsewhere. - pvcox
Apr 2009 - $19.00
Older park in the middle of nowhere. Under new management. They started to put in a new bathhouse in a park model. All pull through sites. They were also in the process of putting gravel on the sites to get them out of the mud. The land is pretty low and it floods with every rainstorm. - Glen_mich
Jul 2008 - $32.00
Under new management so this review is based on current conditions. Park is clean, good interior roads. Sites are long with sufficient room for big rigs and slides. Few trees so satellite OK. Low water pressure - very dirty water requires filtration!! Rest rooms and laundry very dirty, dated, need replacement - no cooling evident. would only use this park for an overnight, about three miles west of I57, some road noise from busy road adjacent to park. Owners very accommodating and will probably clean this park up given enough time to make required updates. - endlesstravels
