As many have said this is parking lot used for overflow for sports events and trucks. Access was simple following instructions provided by others. Access by 55 south off at 21st and head to marshalling yard. Didn't see a bridge in the way at all. Be prepared and your access is easy I wouldn't recommend coming without a fully self contained rv as there are no showers bathrooms water hookups or power onsite or nearby I was Traveling in a 45'mh so absolutely no problem parking here for four days Found a spot at end and closest neighbor about 70 feet away. Generator run daily to keep coach utilities up Got here on a Thursday stayed until Monday. A Bears game was going on Sunday. Surrounded by tailgating fans about 10 am. Made some new friends had breakfast with them and about 1130 they were all at game. No tailgating is allowed during the game If a Bears game is in town definitely get here 2 days in advance. Saturday arrival would be turned away. Camped here with about 15 other Rv's for 4 days Some people moved to edge during game. We were in middle of lot and did not have to move. Parking attendants very polite and directed cars around my rig I would stay again for convenience of being so close to town to explore the city. - Big Rigger

Like others have said, it is what it is, a truck yard. But, it is close to the beach at Lake Michigan, close to the Navy Pier, and about a 15 dollar Uber ride to downtown. Was not too trashy, was pretty quiet, and there were about 2 dozen RVs there when we spent the night. Would definitely stay again as there is no place else close. - DogFriendlyGuy

This place is, after all, a truck yard. You do have to plan (& call) ahead. But, you're only a couple miles down the lake front from the Navy Pier, & dead across Lakeshore Dr from the 31st St beach. For the money, this close to downtown, Urban Boondocking works for this camper. Will stop here again. - BillHan1959

We just stopped here overnight on our way east and I am glad that we only stayed overnight because I wouldn't want to be here for two nights. Very little improvements have been done in this park, just a grass area with hookups and poor gravel roads. Even the office is in poor shape. Grass has grown up about a foot high around a lot of the campers which means that they are there long term, mostly people that work in the area. I definitely wouldn't want to stay here again. - Linda Allan

This is not a campground. This is a transient facility for tradesmen, i.e. pipeline workers, carnies, etc.
Some people live here year round, by the looks of the sites and campers.
No restrictions on how old your rig is.. bring in your beast.
Rates to me are too high. take it or leave it attitude.
$700 a month for 50 amp with Water and sewer.
Gossipy workers/owners. People come in all hours of the night.
You will get a tongue lashing if you go over the speed limit of 10 MPH.
No campfires. No ice. Very cramped conditions. Many run down sites.
I-80 Road noise 24/7. No buffer for noise control.
I needed this facility as a place to stay while on contractual work in the area.
Otherwise, I would avoid. - josephine Plumber
Apr 2016 - $42.00
This park has very unlevel, very close, sunny/open grass only sites. Very rude people as well as workers living there. Not worth the time or money to put up with drunks throwing things. Very scared! It was better to leave. - Sheilagramm

We decided to give this campground a try for its location. Despite all of the outdated reviews we gave it a try. I'm glad we did. We had no issues. It was quiet, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. - AdventureIsMyMiddleName
May 2013 - $35.00
While the setting for this campground is excellent, the execution is just shy of horrible! The only reason we stayed at this park was its proximity to family and friends. I would never do so again. Go across the border to Indiana, do not come here! The bathrooms are all but unusable, and my wife has refused to use the shower in the ladies room. I didn't think the previous reviews could be true, but believe them. - Phil_S
Mar 2013 - $42.00
This is a very rustic campground with no paved roads or concrete pads. We were very disappointed in the general conditions present and the mud was so bad from the rain the previous day that we nearly got our dually stuck twice just getting to the site. We opted to leave and stay at another park due to the conditions we found in the winter time. It may be more appealing in the summer months, but we cannot recommend it during any kind of wet weather. - RVGFulltimers

Check in with hotel BEFORE you park. They made us move. The park is fine. It's fairly large and was pretty empty when we stayed. Site has E, water until Oct. 15, and a dump and fill station by the hotel. You get hotel breakfast (not great). Our price was based on the water being shut off. Summer price is higher. Our problem was with the registration process. Normally, you find a spot, set up, and then check in, especially when the park is practically empty. The signs say to check in with the hotel with no other details. There is not a convenient place to park an RV in the hotel parking lot, so we went to the CG, found a spot and set up. When we registered with the hotel, they assigned us a site number. We said, "Oh, well, we're already set up in this other spot, so can we just stay there?" The answer was, "No." They made us move. There were literally 80 sites, 5 of which were filled, and they made us move to different spot. We were only there for the night, coming from Madison, WI on our way to Grand Rapids, MI, and we were tired and very not happy about the move. We got over it and decided to blow off some steam at the casino. There's a sign for a poker room, which leads to nowhere. There isn't one. An attendant laughed and said, "the funny thing is that we still had it listed on our website last month." It isn't funny, it's bad business; take the sign down. They do give you a sort of lotto ticket when signing up for a frequent player card where you can win free slot play. We had to call an attendant twice to figure out how to use the promo money, and we both have college degrees. The process is unnecessarily complicated. Also, everything is way overpriced. I'm not joking when I say that they offer just a hot dog for $5.99, and the couple of beers we had were way off the mark too. - Unknown_Normal

You basically get a space that's convenient to go into Chicago. Basically a space with electric and water. It's clean with good bathrooms. - har-fl
Sep 2017 - $35.00
Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting family. We had a pull-thru with w/e and it was plenty long enough. The back in sites looked fine for our 38' fiver also. Free basic breakfast and close to shopping and restaurants. Clean restrooms. Site surface was a concrete pad. Lot had a picnic table. We will stay here again when in town. - miller.va
Jul 2013 - $34.00
This is not a campground. This is a transient workplace for people like carnival workers, pipeline workers, welders, carpenters, and workers who are seasonal. The camp host seems nice. Place is very run down. From throwing my trash out before leaving, I saw that they do like their beer. Had I known, I would have stayed elsewhere. - pvcox
Apr 2009 - $19.00
Older park in the middle of nowhere. Under new management. They started to put in a new bathhouse in a park model. All pull through sites. They were also in the process of putting gravel on the sites to get them out of the mud. The land is pretty low and it floods with every rainstorm. - Glen_mich
Jul 2008 - $32.00
Under new management so this review is based on current conditions. Park is clean, good interior roads. Sites are long with sufficient room for big rigs and slides. Few trees so satellite OK. Low water pressure - very dirty water requires filtration!! Rest rooms and laundry very dirty, dated, need replacement - no cooling evident. would only use this park for an overnight, about three miles west of I57, some road noise from busy road adjacent to park. Owners very accommodating and will probably clean this park up given enough time to make required updates. - endlesstravels
